Chapter 787: Part 2: Tier-9 Sky Crocodile

Frontline

Jeremy Night noticed the dark clouds. He didn’t know when, but it had already started raining. The appearance of the dark clouds this time was surprising.

He used his eye power to zoom into the dark clouds. He wanted to see them clearly. He only saw flashes of blue lightning. He didn’t know why, but he felt something was about to happen.

"Jeremy Night, what are you thinking?"

The next second, he heard someone calling him out. He turned around and saw that the person was none other than Catherine Rosewood. She seemed to be alright.

Jeremy looked at her. She was smiling. He didn’t know whether to tell her or not.

Swoosh!

Suddenly, he felt someone moving fast in the mid-air. He raised his head and looked at the sky. He saw the person was none other than Governor Leon.

His eyesight was better. Knowing that Governor Leon had moved, he thought his guess was right. There was something wrong with the dark clouds.

Jeremy then collected his thoughts and turned towards her. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

"The battle is not over yet. So you should recover your strength," he said to her.

"What?" She was taken aback.

She didn’t expect to hear such an answer. She then looked into the eyes of Jeremy Night. She saw that he was being serious.

She didn’t know what to say. Even the Supervisors were quiet, yet Jeremy Night said that the fight was not over yet.

She nodded to him before leaving. She then joined the family beast tamers.

Jeremy sighed. He had made the girl uncomfortable, but he had told the truth.

Boom!

A deafening noise occurred.

Hearing that, Jeremy turned toward the sky. He saw blue thunderclaps. They were occurring one after another. Each thunderclap brought a deafening sound.

He had not seen such frequent thunderclaps before. It seemed wrong to him. Not only him, but others were looking at the sky.

Supervisor Jersey wanted to ask Governor Leon, but he was not here. There were Tier-7 Elders on the city wall.

He was hesitant to ask them because it could be anything; the dark clouds could be harmless.

...

Boom!

The sky crocodile didn’t hold back. It started attacking. The lightning fire from its mouth was raining down on the enemies.

Governor Martin and Orion understood that the Tier-9 Beast intended to wipe them out. The Beast Tides earlier were not random. It truly targeted them and the city behind them.

Both of them summoned their lifeline beasts. Right at that moment, Leon joined them. The arrival of Leon didn’t surprise them. They had sent him a message earlier as well.

Leon saw the monstrous sky crocodile in the sky. They looked smaller than ants in front of the sky crocodile.

"We were doomed this time. How can we attack this gigantic beast?" Leon said in a serious tone.

He was not confident, but he knew they had no other choice. So he summoned his lifeline beasts.

All three of their lifeline beasts appeared. The energy level of these beasts was powerful, so powerful it affected the other lifeline beasts in the area.

Even the sky crocodile hiding in the sky felt something. It stopped shooting randomly. Instead, it targeted the three powerful lifeline beasts.

Boom!

Martin, Orion, and Leon dodged the attacks. The lifeline beasts evaded the lightning bolts.

Right then, the Family Head Beast Tamers didn’t know what to do. They were helpless against the Tier-9 Beast. Only death awaited them right now.

In the dark, heavy downpour of rain, the visibility was low. On top of it, the attacks from the sky crocodile were overturning the land.

Some of the family heads hesitated to support the three Governors. They had seen that the Tier-9 Beast was targeting them.

If they returned to their families, they could save them from the Tier-9 Beast attack. But they were not moving at all.

If anyone retreated without orders, they would be considered traitors; no one wanted that label.

Among them, Robert Hill had a strong desire to leave.

Boom!

"Beast Tide is coming!"

Someone shouted at them. Hearing that, everyone looked ahead and saw another Beast Tide coming.

The Beast Tide wave this time was huge. There were more Tier-5, Tier-6, and Tier-7 beasts in a single wave.

Seeing that, the family heads who wanted to retreat changed their minds. They couldn’t fight against the Tier-9 Beast, but they could deal with the Tier-8 and lower beasts before them.

Head Harold and the others acted.

Boom!

Different types of lifeline beasts appeared on the ground. They acted against the coming beast tide. It was impossible for them to stop all the beasts; they could only target the powerful ones.

....

Meanwhile,

A few minutes later,

Jeremy Night, who was watching the battlefield, found a problem again. He zoomed into the battlefield and saw beasts coming in large numbers.

His expression changed drastically. He looked at the dark clouds in the sky. The blue lightning was still flashing.

Now that the beast tide had appeared, he couldn’t help but think things were getting out of hand.

He didn’t know whether the Governors could handle it. They needed help from the Human Alliance.

It didn’t take long for the Supervisors and Elders to notice the Beast Tide.

"Everyone get ready. It’s a beast tide again. This time, their numbers are crazy. Don’t let your guard down," one of the elders shouted.

Hearing that, the frontline became tense again. Compared to before, their strength had been reduced. There were more injured Beast Tamers.

Yet the Beast Tide was coming in great numbers. The Elders and Supervisors didn’t have any other choice; they had to step in.

Swoosh!

In a flash, they moved past the frontline. They were going to take down all the Tier-5 and above beasts. They didn’t want a one-sided slaughter to happen.

If the city walls were breached by the beasts, then millions would die.

Jeremy’s mood was off. He had never faced this type of Beast Invasion before. Usually, a Beast Invasion was stopped once the mastermind was killed.

But here, the beast tides were coming one after another. Jeremy looked towards the sky. He thought there was something hidden in the sky.
