Chapter 388: Chapter 378: Interesting, it’s getting interesting!

To avoid a potential disaster?

Listening to Ye Jizu’s grave and righteous tone on the other end of the line, Qin Fan couldn’t help but frown. His voice turned slightly chilly as he asked, "What is it?"

"Ninjas from Japan have infiltrated Jiangzhou! And they’re likely after our Spirit Water No. 1! That’s the first thing. Second, I’m worried that if this is true... after all, the effectiveness of our Spirit Water No. 1 is an open secret among the upper class. The news must have leaked out! You know the vile nature of those other nations!" Ye Jizu explained. Every word he spoke was laden with gravity. In truth, he had anticipated this day; he just hadn’t expected it to arrive so soon.

"Ninjas have infiltrated Jiangzhou? What the hell is the Guardian Institute doing, letting them in?" Qin Fan asked, his frown deepening.

"Master Qin, infiltration is different from an attack. The Guardian Institute can’t do anything before they make a move! My worry is that if we wait for them to act, things will get troublesome!" Ye Jizu’s voice carried a distinct note of anxiety.

Jiangzhou was practically defenseless right now. What would it mean if those people decided to make a move? Trouble would erupt long before the Guardian Institute could intervene.

"Have you told my parents about this?" Qin Fan asked after a pause.

"Not yet. I reported to you the moment I received the news," Ye Jizu replied quickly.

"Good. From now on, tell them not to go out. They are to stay inside No. 1 Villa. Also, if you’re afraid, you can stay there too. As for the employees of the No. 1 Group, give them leave," Qin Fan ordered, a frosty glare and a hint of cold, murderous intent on his face.

Infiltrating Jiangzhou to come after Spirit Water No. 1? They’re asking for death!

"Master Qin, what about you?" Ye Jizu asked hesitantly. Without Qin Fan around, he never felt truly secure, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it directly.

"I’m heading back now. If you’re not afraid, come pick me up at the airport later. You can fill me in on the details then."

"Alright, of course, Master Qin!" Ye Jizu sounded as if he had just let out a huge sigh of relief.

After hanging up, Qin Fan glanced over at Jiang Yino among the Class Seven students. At that exact moment, Jiang Yino happened to look his way. Their gazes collided, igniting a spark that made her immediately look away.

Seeing this, Qin Fan smiled faintly. He walked over to her. "Yino, I have to take leave again. How about a hug to say goodbye for now?"

"You’re taking leave again?" Her dodging gaze froze, and she frowned in confusion. He just got back, and he’s already asking for leave? Does he think this campus is his company? And that he’s some kind of traveling salesman?

"Something’s come up, and I have to go. So, how about that hug?" Qin Fan glanced around with a mischievous smile, spreading his arms toward her and completely disregarding the astonished expressions of the other students.

He might not care, but how could Jiang Yino remain so composed? Her face flushed crimson. "If you need to take leave, then just go! Besides, I’m not the class monitor. Why are you telling me?"

With that, the mortified Jiang Yino turned her back to him.

Not surprised by her reaction, Qin Fan beamed a brilliant smile and waved to the stupefied students. "Goodbye!" He then turned and walked off with a strong, resolute stride.

Behind him, however, Xu Jiayi’s eyes turned incredibly dark and resentful. Yao Jianjia, on the other hand, couldn’t help but let out a deep sigh of relief. Ever since learning Qin Fan’s secrets, she had been feeling an inexplicable, suffocating pressure.

Out of courtesy, Qin Fan walked over to the instructors to bid farewell to Zhong Dasheng, then called his counselor to request leave. Without even staying for the commemorative photo, he disappeared under the stunned gazes of the Class Seven students.

「Two hours later.」

At Jiangzhou Airport, as Qin Fan walked out of the terminal with a stern expression, Ye Jizu, who had been anxiously watching the exit, rushed over to meet him.

"We’ll talk in the car," Qin Fan said coolly, not giving Ye Jizu a chance to speak.

"Yes, Master Qin!" Ye Jizu replied with the utmost respect. He fell in half a step behind Qin Fan, quickly following him toward the stately, imposing Alphard.

"What’s the situation? Talk," Qin Fan asked in a low voice the moment he was inside and Ye Jizu had pulled the door shut.

"No further news has come in, Master Qin. If those bastards are truly after Spirit Water No. 1, their operation will be extremely secretive. My information channels are basically paralyzed at this point. The likelihood of getting any more information is very, very low," Ye Jizu said, touching his nose in embarrassment.

The Patriarch of Lingnan. What an awe-inspiring title. The underground king of Lingnan. What an impressive reputation. And now I can’t even find the whereabouts of a few Japanese infiltrators. This is fucking embarrassing and shameful!

"What about my parents? Are they at No. 1 Villa now?" Qin Fan nodded, seeming noncommittal about Ye Jizu’s answer as he asked another question.

"Yes, at No. 1 Villa. I’ve informed them of the situation. Chairman Qin and his wife shouldn’t be going out," Ye Jizu replied.

"That’s fine."

Seeing that Qin Fan seemed rather unconcerned about the infiltrators targeting Spirit Water No. 1, Ye Jizu was completely bewildered. He asked tentatively, "Master Qin, are we heading to No. 1 Villa now, or...?"

"No need. Just drive around for now. I’ll tell you where to go later," Qin Fan said, shaking his head faintly before closing his eyes and leaning back against the plush seat.

This left Ye Jizu even more baffled.

What the hell?! What’s going on? What is he plotting now?

Baffled as he was, Ye Jizu could only suppress his doubts.

"Boss, where are we heading?" the chauffeur in the front seat asked.

"Just drive around for now," Ye Jizu relayed, following Qin Fan’s instructions.

The chauffeur, dressed in a suit and white gloves, acknowledged with an "oh" and said no more. The low-profile Alphard began to weave aimlessly through the streets of Jiangzhou City.

In the back seat, Qin Fan, with his eyes closed, had already expanded his Divine Sense to cover the entire city. He continuously scanned the auras within his range, searching for the location of any Abnormals.

A moment later, he snapped his eyes open, a deeply sinister smirk spreading across his face. He muttered to himself, "Interesting, very interesting."

Within his Divine Sense, aside from the auras of Huaxia Martial Artists and ordinary people, he could feel no fewer than four different types of foreign auras pulsating within the city. Did this mean there were several groups after Spirit Water No. 1?

Hearing Qin Fan’s abrupt murmur, Ye Jizu asked anxiously, "Master Qin, what is it?"

Shaking his head, Qin Fan gave a playful, light chuckle. "It’s nothing. Tell the driver to head to the West Suburb."
