The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 387 - 377: Someone You Can’t Afford to Offend! (5)
「The next day.」
When Qin Fan, who had been away for over twenty days, rejoined the ranks for military training, the gazes that greeted him were filled with nothing but pure admiration.
He had taken on five opponents alone, utterly crushing the five-nation Alliance Army in the competition. Not only that, his slam dunk had shattered the backboard, torn down the rim, and bent the stand—a feat more incredible than any movie’s special effects. To top it all off, he had sent the entire Alliance Army to the hospital.
Faced with such a heaven-defying, formidable battle, how could they find a single reason not to worship him?
However, there were exceptions among the crowd.
Right then, Jiang Yinuo faced Qin Fan not with admiration, but with an evasive gaze. It seemed that even after a full night, she still hadn’t recovered from Qin Fan’s confession.
Did she have feelings for Qin Fan? Yes, and they were practically bursting! But her modesty and rational mind wouldn’t let her accept such a sudden and unbelievable confession so quickly. So, she was a mess. Her heart was a complete mess, as tangled as hemp.
There was also Yao Jianjia, whose look toward Qin Fan was filled with unparalleled complexity.
As soon as Qin Fan had left Medicine Valley, she received a warning from her father, Yao Junxian. A warning. It was the first time in her life that her doting father had ever warned her about anything.
What in the world did that bastard do? And how does Father even know about him? She couldn’t make any sense of it and desperately wanted to confront that scoundrel!
At the head of the formation, Instructor Zhong Dasheng’s gaze fell on Qin Fan. He nodded with a light chuckle by way of greeting.
In response, Qin Fan also smiled and nodded.
"I’m sure you all know that today is the last day of military training! I’m very happy and honored to have been your instructor, and you haven’t let me down. You achieved excellent results in yesterday’s competitions, and my superiors even praised me for it. Today’s assembly is mainly to create a memento of the hardship and sweat we’ve poured in over this past month. The photographer will be here soon to take a group photo. Ladies and gentlemen, I’ll give you some time to get ready. Go on, it’ll be our platoon’s turn in about fifteen minutes!"
Drawing his gaze away from Qin Fan, Zhong Dasheng addressed the new students with a friendly smile. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
As he finished speaking, the new students cheered and scattered in all directions.
Watching their young faces, still not entirely free of youthful naivety, Zhong Dasheng let out a heartfelt laugh. He then walked over to Qin Fan, who had remained in place instead of leaving.
"Qin, it’s a real shame I couldn’t be there to witness your incredible performance yesterday," Zhong Dasheng said in a low voice, his laugh tinged with regret.
"Didn’t a lot of people record it? It’s the same thing," Qin Fan replied with a light smile.
"Haha, that’s true, but it’s not the same as feeling the shock of being there in person! Anyway, I won’t keep you. I’m going to head over to the other instructors," Zhong Dasheng trailed off, speaking a bit awkwardly.
"Sure, you go on ahead," Qin Fan replied, revealing a slightly simple, honest smile.
The moment Zhong Dasheng turned to leave, Yao Jianjia, who had been watching Qin Fan the entire time, immediately walked over.
"Need something?" Qin Fan shot Yao Jianjia a glance, snorting softly.
"Do you know about Medicine Valley?" Yao Jianjia bit her lip, her voice a whisper only the two of them could hear.
"I do. And?" Qin Fan looked at her mockingly, knowing full well that Yao Junxian must have warned her.
"You’ve been there?" Yao Jianjia pressed.
"I have. And?"
"You bastard! What exactly did you do in Medicine Valley?" Yao Jianjia seethed through gritted teeth.
"If I’m not mistaken, your father must have warned you. Don’t ask what you shouldn’t ask, and don’t provoke who you shouldn’t provoke. I told Yao Junxian to watch his daughter. The word ’mercy’ isn’t in my vocabulary, nor do I follow some bullshit rule about not killing women. Piss me off, and I’ll kill you. As easily as wringing a chicken’s neck. Understand?" Qin Fan unleashed an imposing, sharp chill that swept over Yao Jianjia as he snorted coldly.
WHOOSH—!
Facing Qin Fan’s sudden burst of icy aura, Yao Jianjia stumbled back two steps uncontrollably. A cold dread, as if she’d been plunged into an icy cavern, shot up from the soles of her feet to the top of her head. She was utterly engulfed by his terrifying presence.
"Y-You... who are you? How do you know about Medicine Valley?" Yao Jianjia stammered, her face flooded with terror, but she asked anyway, unwilling to back down.
"Someone you can’t afford to provoke. Someone who could erase you from this world at any moment," Qin Fan continued, pressing his oppressive aura onto her.
He intended to intimidate this young woman once and for all, to make her keep a wide berth every time she saw him.
Someone I can’t afford to provoke?
Yao Junxian had already warned her time and again with unprecedented gravity. He had even strongly demanded that she leave Jinling University and stay away from Qin Fan. Yet, hearing these words directly from Qin Fan’s mouth plunged her into a sudden, overwhelming panic.
"My father said... you also demanded the Miao Clan’s location. Miao Laosan... he still hasn’t returned to school. What happened to him?" A shiver still ran through her, but Yao Jianjia fought through the panic caused by Qin Fan’s daunting presence. She forced out her final question, her teeth chattering.
"He’s dead. I killed him."
His lips curled into a smirk. The imposing aura that had made Yao Jianjia tremble vanished, and Qin Fan smiled, looking completely harmless.
Dead. I killed him.
The words—so blunt, so direct—left Yao Jianjia’s mouth hanging open. She couldn’t close it for a long time.
When Qin Fan had asked for the Miao Clan’s location, both Yao Junxian and Yao Jianjia had guessed that something was about to happen to the clan. But she never imagined he would admit it so bluntly.
He killed Miao Laosan? If he really went on a killing spree, would he have stopped at just one person? The word ’Demon’ buzzed in her mind. Yes. He’s an absolute demon! What grudge could he possibly have with Miao Laosan? They had never even met, yet he was brutally killed?
She swallowed hard again and again, the sound escaping her throat in gulps. Her pretty face instantly turned as pale as ashes.
Just then, the phone in Qin Fan’s pocket suddenly began to vibrate.
He shook his head mockingly at the completely stunned Yao Jianjia and pulled out his phone.
The caller ID read: Ye Jizu.
Qin Fan couldn’t help but furrow his brow.
Ye Jizu, calling at this hour? Has something happened?
"Old Ye, what’s up?"
Stepping away to an open area, Qin Fan answered the call.
"Master Qin, nothing major for now, but I just received some news. To avoid any potential trouble, I felt I had to report it to you," Ye Jizu’s grave voice came through the phone.
