Shattering Humanity-Chapter 63: "I’ll Be Your Sun."
Taylor wakes up inside the kitchen of a diner, open cans of food everywhere. His IceEye, now after the nightmare of his family being stranded, is in 2nd Stage, a lime green aura emitting from it.
Before he becomes aware of his new eye form, the eye goes back to the base-kit as he gets up from his nap and his stomach growls, he holds it and exits the half destroyed diner.
He walks through Son Goku City, passing by a high school football field with "Home of the Son Goku City Saviors! National Champs!" above the scoreboard.
His stomach growls as he walks by, uninterested in the destruction. The field has multiple craters scattered around and the bleachers are destroyed.
A young tan light skin woman, 16, messy black hair with teal streaks, two golden eyes, and two small scars on her left cheek, wearing a floral kimono is seen running barefoot, from the on-field locker rooms but two smaller Icemen, covered in fresh blood, are running after her. One of them is clutching a freshly severed female head, her human eye gouged out but with an Iceman eye still in. The girl swerves a small crater and the Icemen jump over it.
Running Girl: "Somebody! PLEASE! HELP MEE!!"
The aliens in pursuit, are gaining ground on her quickly and within arms reach as she hops through a destroyed fence, the fence snags her kimono and tears it up the leg, also cutting her and she falls to the pavement with her leg now dripping blood.
But as soon as the Icemen jump through the same way, a giant human fist grabs both of the unexpecting predators by the side of the head, and without effort, crushes the heads of the monsters mid death scream.
The head of the dead woman drops and rolls, closing the IceEye. The terrified girl looks up at the giant of the man and gets scared once again.
Girl: "Please don’t hurt me!"
She looks up in horror as his giant, open hand reaches down for her. She flinches and closes her eyes as the gentle giant grabs the collar of her kimono, picks her up, and puts her on his right shoulder so she is now sitting on the shoulder of the 7 foot 9 inch(2.3m) tall, 420 pound beast.
The blood from her wound is barely noticeable on his black HFF sweatshirt with "Taylor" on the back.
She opens her sparkling golden eyes and sees the world from a higher point than even the huge human who saved her.
Taylor: "Stay there. (points at himself) Me. Tay-Tay. (points at her) You. Safe."
The two golden eyes of the girl look at him and then at the clouds, the alien snow falling around them, with her left hand holding the back of his neck for stability.
Sol: "Thank you for saving me. My name is Sol. I was dumped out here 3 days ago after refusing to do gross things for this man who took me in as one of his wives. I have no training from the academy, and that woman they killed was trying to bring me back to a sanctuary around here."
While she introduces herself, Tay looks at the Sun, his eye turns into a 2nd Stage, a yellow aura, but then his actual IceEye begins glowing, as if it was a lightbulb slowly getting more bright.
Even Sol, a non-eye user notices it.
Sol: "Woah, what is your ability big guy? And don’t look at the Sun. You’ll go blind.(smiles) My name means ’Sun’ so you can look at me instead."Her stomach growls and Taylor looks at her, they make eye contact and Sol gets surprised while she blushes at him and Tay’s IceEye starts to dim.
Sol: "I’m not...hungry anymore."
Taylor closes his eyes and after a few seconds, he burps, loud, and opens his eyes revealing his base-kit eye and fading yellow aura. He starts walking with Sol almost falling off but grabbing hold. She watches her savior in amazement and provides an example of her intelligence right away.
Sol: "Is your eye like, a ’Photosynthesis Eye’ or somethin’? You can even give other people you look at the energy you’ve stored? That’s amazing!"
Tay: "Bad."
Sol(surprised): "No, no not bad, that’s probably the most useful and convenient ability ever thought of Big Guy! You can help a lot of people and you can exert enough energy to crush those monsters heads barehanded. You’re ama-"
Tay: "No taste. No smell. Bad."
Sol stares at the giant simpleton with his evaluation of his powers and gives a beautiful gentle smile and looks ahead down the empty, destroyed city streets, to wherever her new ride is bringing her.
Sol: "I get it. You don’t mean that in a selfish way, you must enjoy how food manipulates your senses and it’s more than just ’wanting to eat more’.We all live to manipulate our senses in our desired way to make existence worth it. You don’t seem the type to use that stored energy on yourself before giving it to someone else."
An Iceman appears from a hole in a building and Taylor turns with Sol hanging on tight. She gets on his back, now piggybacking as the Iceman rushes them.
Sol: "Watch out Big Guy!"
The Iceman with a shorter arm length than the huge man, gets back-hand slapped and falls to the ground. It looks up just in time for the bottom of Taylor’s boot to connect with its face and shatters its head against the ground. Sol peeks over the giant man’s shoulder and can’t believe what she’s seen with her golden eyes.
Tay continues going down the street. Sol gets down and walks beside the man 3 feet taller than her.
Sol: "You’re incredible...(looks at his name on the back of his HFF sweatshirt)...’Taylor’? So ’Tay-Tay’ is your nickname? That’s a cute name. Well, you’re incredible Tay-Tay.And you’re in luck, when I accepted to be a concubine, I thought I was too ugly...(puts hand over cheek scars)...to be a ’pleasure wife’ and was willing to cook and clean for safety."
Taylor stops at the word "cook" and looks at Sol, now realizing the resemblance of this girl’s eyes and his mother’s golden eyes. He looks at Sol the same way he looks at the Sun because of his dead mother’s story.
Tears fill his eyes and the loveable lug softly weeps. Sol lightly tears up and smiles at the man who can easily kill the species that threatens humanity’s existence, weaponless, weeping from her grateful sentiment. She rubs his back lightly.
Sol: "Don’t worry Big Guy, I’ll be your ’Sun’."
