Chapter 62: TayTay’s Tragic Backstory Part 3

The storm passes over night and PaPa Tay still hasn’t returned from leaving to check the collected rain water.

Tay gets up, puts on his mothers sun hat and leaves the shallow cave, and begins waddling around by himself on the quiet island.

He searches high and low for his parents. They aren’t present to hear their 9 year old child say his first words.

TayTay: "Mama! Papa!"

There is no answer to the child’s calls for his mother and father. He walks towards the spot where his father had made a rain collector out of materials that were left behind by the company that owns the island.

He doesn’t notice the motionless leg sticking out from under a large fallen tree behind him with the scorched stump indicating where the lightning that woke him up the night before had struck.

Little TayTay drinks the entire bucket of water without taking a pause and finishes with a big refreshing breath. He puts the bucket back down where it was and he walks away from the fallen tree without ever noticing the leg at all.

As he wanders the empty island some more, his stomach growls and Taylor begins tearing up and then he looks up at the "giant table in the sky".

With nobody to tell him to look away, Taylor eyes begin watering and he wipes the injury tears away. He tries jumping up high enough while stretching his arms up high.

TayTay: "MaMa! MaMa!"

The innocent chubby child is unsuccessful in his attempts to jump up and sit at the table of the gods. TayTay begins tearing up again but not from the Sun, from sadness. With both balled up fists underneath his closed crying eyes he falls to his knees into the sand. His tears falling into the sand.

But then party music can be heard off in the distance, Taylor looks out at the sea and can see a large yacht approaching the island.

The people onboard can be seen laughing and enjoying themselves, eating plates of food and drinking their fruity alcoholic drinks as they get closer to their cruise ship’s destination.

Once the ship docks on shore, Taylor waddles up to the large boat and he is seen by the workers dropping the anchor and setting up the gangway. They alert the captain and the elderly man with a white beard, white hair and white eyebrows, with the Captain outfit, looks out on the shore over the edge of the boat.

Taylor is rescued but he doesn’t want to leave.

It takes multiple grown men to hold back the hysterical giant of a 9 year old from trying to jump back off the ship.

TayTay: "Mama! Papa! Noooo!"

he captain of the boat watches the heartbreaking scene and then a crew member approaches.

Crew member: "Captain! I think there’s something you should know and I think you should prepare yourself for what I’m about to tell you Sir, but it seems this boy isn’t really that intelligent and his parents were stranded on the company’s island for over 23 days."

Ship Captain: "23 days?! They must’ve gotten stuck right after last month’s departure back home. But that would be impossible! We didn’t leave that much food on the island for them to have survived that long. Have you found his parents yet?"

The crew member becomes unsettled and sweats

.Crew Member: "That’s why I wanted you to prepare yourself Sir. We found human female remains buried under a wooden tombstone with ’My Sun, I will protect our son.’ carved into it."

Captain: "Dear God, have you found the father yet?"

Crew Member (closes eyes and grits teeth): "We have Captain, but it seems the tropical storm that swept over the island last night destroyed some of the shrubbery and trees. We discovered a rain collector they had set up with the little bit of supplies that we do leave behind, but a few yards away from it, was a tree that had fallen on a man we assume to be his father. I gotta say Captain, it was the right call deciding to come here 2 days early to check up on the storm damage, you might have just saved that boy’s life."

The Captain sits down with his hand over his forehead while putting together the events that must have transpired with all the pieces and evidence left behind.

Captain: "So let me get this straight, you’re telling me that young boy unknowingly ate his mother that his father must’ve killed in desperation, and as universal karma, the boy’s father was standing directly in the spot of a falling tree during a tropical storm, killing him, and leaving the child alone?"

Crew Member(nods): "... It’s safe to say he and his father did eat the mother, yes, and on the night before their early rescue, his father was killed getting them water."

Taylor is crying alone in a bedroom, pounding on the door that’s locking him inside. He begins pulling on the door handle, cracking the frame of the door. A grown man is trying to pull back to negate TayTay’s force but it’s ineffective.

An angry Taylor with tears in his eyes, pulls/breaks open the door, pulling the grown man with it. His glare is terrifying and scares all the workers in the hallway outside the room.

However, there are multiple plates of food that make him forget his anger and parents quickly. The new orphan digs into the delivered buffet as the ship leaves the island and heads back to the main port home early due to an emergency.

Captain: "I don’t know how old the boy is because his size and ability to communicate don’t correlate at all, but my granddaughter, Autumn will have more luck trying to talk to him then we ever could."

Crew Member: "You’re going to take this ’boy’ into your own family Captain?"

Captain(nods): "Incredible strength comes directly from incredible sacrifice and with what that boy has gone through, he’s destined to be the next ’Hercules’."
