Chapter 532: Chapter 532: Bringing Them Together

Eliza Hayes and Faye Turner got into the car. Adrian Lancaster had his subordinates get in as well, before he himself sat in the front passenger seat.

The entire ride, nobody spoke. Adrian Lancaster merely gave the driver the address of a hotel.

He also made a phone call, telling the rescue team that they could continue, as his mother had already been found.

The hotel was located in downtown Vancouver, under the Prestige Group.

When the car arrived and everyone got off, staff brought over blankets, draping one over Eliza Hayes’ shoulders, "Madam, be careful not to catch a cold, please come inside."

The detail of preparing blankets was something Adrian Lancaster sent via a WeChat message to the staff.

"Hello, President Lancaster. Hello, Madam." Someone greeted them with respect.

The group walked toward the hotel lobby, took the elevator up, and Eliza Hayes’ room was arranged next to Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner’s, all of them being presidential suites.

The moment the door closed, looking at the vast, empty room, Eliza Hayes’ heart, which had just been warmed a bit, cooled down again.

The suite was already quite large, but her son was unwilling to stay with her...

Tears rolled down from her eyes as she slowly moved to sit on the sofa.

Involuntarily recalling the attitude she had toward her son over the years, she couldn’t blame or begrudge him...

Eliza Hayes was still deeply remorseful and guilt-ridden.

In the vast presidential suite next door, Faye Turner held Adrian Lancaster’s arm, her delicate brows slightly furrowed as she looked at him, "Adrian, could it be... you’re just going to ignore her like this?"

Adrian Lancaster didn’t speak. The tear stains on his face had dried, making him look calm, perhaps even a bit indifferent.

Faye Turner shook her head, "You clearly care about her, otherwise you wouldn’t have come. If you truly hated her, you would leave her to her fate, not caring about her life or death in the ruins."

Her words pierced his heart.

"Adrian, I think... you should face your own heart."

"Surviving the aftermath of an earthquake, you and I didn’t experience it; we might not be able to comprehend that fear. She needs psychological counseling now, and we are the best psychologists for her."

Compared to Faye Turner’s tearful persuasion and sadness, Adrian Lancaster felt more unspeakable frustration in his heart.

Nearly 20 years...

For 20 years, he was despised by her, detested for 20 years... He had a mother, yet lived like an orphan!

"Adrian..." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

His wife’s voice, so sincere and gentle that it pained him to breathe, "Consider it, shall I go check on her?"

Faye Turner knew full well that this was the best time to help mother and son resolve their issues.

Slowly sliding her fingers from his arm and letting go, Adrian Lancaster made no attempt to stop her. Faye Turner turned and left the room.

In the room next door, when the doorbell rang, Eliza Hayes, who was sitting on the sofa crying alone, turned her head to the sound.

Her heart secretly rejoiced, holding onto hope, she quickly wiped away her tears and got up to open the door.

At the moment the door opened, she didn’t see her son, but saw her daughter-in-law instead.

Eliza Hayes was still quite happy, "Faye..."

Faye Turner noticed a detail; she was still wrapped in a thin blanket and hadn’t taken a shower. Her hair remained disheveled, and her clothes were still smeared with dust, just like someone who had fled a disaster.

This meant she was likely sorting through her emotions, lost in thought a moment ago.

Moreover, her eyes were red and swollen.

"Adrian said there’s a change of clothes in the bathroom. Why don’t you take a bath first?" Faye Turner smiled, telling a white lie, "Then we can have a meal together and head back to Argent once you’ve rested."

Did Adrian really say that?

Eliza Hayes felt a bittersweet warmth in her heart upon hearing this. Her son did care about her; otherwise, he wouldn’t have personally come over.

Just that... the pain she caused her son couldn’t be dismissed so lightly.

"Do you want to come in and sit for a while?" Eliza Hayes was full of gratitude towards her daughter-in-law, "I’ll be quick in the shower."

The girl with a growing belly nodded, "Sure." She stepped into her mother-in-law’s presidential suite and gently closed the door, "Go take a bath."
