Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)-Chapter 516 - 515: Attack of mutant birds and zombie birds 15
Their team had been strong enough so, except from the very beginning, they didn’t have any of their members turning into zombies.
Even in the people that they had encountered before, they only saw a few turning into zombies because they had been injured by things that were contaminated by the zombie virus or when they were injured or bitten by zombies.
And even in the case of Camille, it was still only one of their members and Camille also managed to pull through in the end and survive.
But this time, while they were fighting, a lot of people around them had been directly eaten or left half-dead by the zombie birds, or they were injured and turned into zombies themselves.
Even though they had been doing their best to kill the zombie birds and helping those that were around them, they had still seen a lot of people turning into zombies.
And Treyton knew that Nathan probably doesn’t feel good because, as a doctor, he couldn’t do anything at all to those that were already turning into zombies.
Treyton had already known Nathan for a long time, so he was sure that Nathan had really wanted to become a doctor back then even though his choice was surprising for them.
And, after becoming a doctor, he had been doing his best to help those that he could help.
Nathan had even learned a wide range of knowledge in medicine and other things even though they weren’t related to his major; that’s why, even though he was the only doctor in their team, it was still very sufficient as Nathan was very good at what he does.
With Nathan’s superpowers, he was mainly a part of the people that were always at the front when it came to dealing with zombies
Nathan had trained for a long time to continue strengthening himself, but even though he was already a strong fighter of the team, he was still very dedicated to his main job as a doctor.
So, he was probably feeling down and was just staying around him silently without going to the others to talk as usual.
If he was feeling well, Treyton was certain that he could still go around and talk to others; even if it wasn’t gossiping, he would probably be there to lighten up their mood.
"Since you plan to follow along and wouldn’t go anywhere else, then you shouldn’t be bothered by what I do."
"It’s still somewhat bothersome. Nevermind, I’ll just curse those f*cking mutant birds and zombie birds.
If I encounter those mutant birds again, I’ll make sure to roast them slowly while they’re still alive.
I knew those mutant birds were the ones who caused the trouble.
If they hadn’t attracted the attention of those zombie birds and led them here to the base so that they could run, we wouldn’t have been in trouble this time. If I encounter them again, I’ll make sure to roast them slowly."
As Nathan said, it was indeed very obvious that those mutant birds brought the zombie birds to the base so that they could escape.
The numbers of the mutant birds that they saw this time wasn’t as many as the numbers of the zombie birds that they had encountered; so after knowing that they couldn’t win in the fight, those mutant birds probably decided that it’s better to let the zombie birds target others.
Their north base is surely the best target in the vicinity as it had the highest number of people, which could surely attract the attention of those zombie birds that had been chasing them.
The strategy of those mutant birds is actually very good as they really managed to get away from the zombie birds that were following them, and some of them even managed to get some people, so they even achieved more as they even gathered some food.
If it was done by people getting away from zombies by luring them to a place where a lot of animals were, then they would probably be happy and even praise them for their quick thinking.
However, this time, they were the ones that became the victims of those mutant birds as they were the ones that were used as the decoys to stop the zombie birds, so they couldn’t be happy at all. No matter how angry they were at those mutant birds, they probably couldn’t catch them as they don’t even recognize all of those birds.
So, Treyton said, "Okay. Just think of it, and it’s even better if you could just dream of doing it because you probably don’t have a chance to roast those mutant birds.
With their intelligence, they surely won’t stay in this area and would fly elsewhere as they already knew that they had evoked the anger of a lot of people living here."
"Then, I’ll just roast all the mutant birds that I encounter in the future!"
"Well, it’s good to have some dreams for the future, so I won’t dissuade you."
Treyton knew that Nathan couldn’t actually do what he had just said because if they’re traveling, they surely won’t have time to slowly roast something like what Nathan wanted.
And with Nathan’s personality, he surely couldn’t slowly roast a mutant bird alive even if he knew that those mutant birds had given them a lot of trouble, as he would probably think that it would be too cruel for him to do such a thing.
So, he didn’t bother contradicting Nathan as he would forget what he said after some time passed.
"That’s a great attitude. Why don’t you accompany me to do it in the future?"
"No need."
"Why? Don’t you want to roast those mutant birds too?"
"It’s enough to just kill them if they cause trouble for us later. If not, then, never mind."
If he had recognized those mutant birds, then he would probably kill them on sight, but since he doesn’t even recognize the difference of those birds to the others of the same species, then he’ll just kill those that caused them trouble just like always.
