"Kyle...don’t go..."

The alpha called out to me, and I felt like my heart was breaking as I betrayed his trust and his words. But what was done was done, and I needed to keep moving forward.

A soft body rubbed against mine, and I looked down at Kuro.

"Human, I will accompany you this time as well."

Kuro told me, and I opened the small bottle for him to fit inside. The cat deformed back into the black mass, and it filled the bottle.

"What about Emma and your presence as a cat here?"

I asked the creature, and Kuro just scoffed at my worried expression.

"Don’t worry. That woman will not even know I am gone because I used my ability to make her forget about me for now."

Kuro assured me, and I did not feel reassured to hear those words. Memory manipulation was not something I was fond of.

But then again, it did have its uses, so I could not complain. I brought Kuro downstairs where Emma and the others were waiting for me.

I was dressed as Ace, and with the mask on my face, I felt exactly like my past self—all sharp and ready for a mission.

Emma’s eyes widened as she looked at my dressed attire, and I could finally see understanding and resignation flashing across her face.

"Y-You-! Truly look like Ace. You don’t look to have changed at all in the past 10 years."

Emma told me, and I had nothing to tell her regarding this. I did not want to tell her what happened in the final dungeon or the 10-year jump that I made. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

So, instead of answering her, I told her about Theo.

"Please take care of yourself and Theo as well. I knocked him out in my bedroom, but you might need to tie him up to stop him from following after me. I will see you all soon."

I told the pair, and Ben did not reply this whole time. I could not tell if he was too shocked to say anything or too disappointed.

He did not say anything until the very end, and once the warmth of my new ’family’ disappeared behind closed doors, it was time for me to start hunting the dungeon.

"Are you ready to head out? I promise I will do my best to keep you alive and safe. So you don’t have to worry about it. You will get a chance to meet everyone again."

Lynn promised me, and I had no doubt regarding this. Even if the alpha had not promised me that, I was going to do everything in my power to come back to these people.

I had a ’home’ to return to now.

"Let’s go. I want all the details and information you have managed to gather up until now. There must be something we have overlooked from all the information."

I told Lynn, and he got my message. Without delay, he took out the tab that had all the related information and handed it over to me.

"We have not released most of the information on the hunter’s net because we do not want to cause panic. But the monsters in the dungeon are behaving weirdly. They are not attacking hunters and instead seem more interested in our gear and stuff. I almost have a feeling we are being observed by these monsters."

Theo told me, and I looked over the data as well. It did look weird since the monster attack inside the dungeon was rare.

Not that the data was going to tell me a lot. I would have to enter the dungeon and experience it myself to know more about it.

"Kyle left me...he left me to go into danger. What should I do now?"

Theo looked up from the bed as he woke up. He felt lethargic and did not seem to have any power or intention of doing anything.

He just...wanted to lie down and wait for Kyle to come back.

’Isn’t that pathetic? I told you that your lack of power would come back to bite you. Why do you still want to play at being human? You should have accepted me and broken out of your human shell. That way, you would be able to get a hold of what we truly want.’

The voice in Theo’s head told him, and Theo frowned.

"Kyle is not an object we can own. He is a human that we need to respect. Please do not say such things about him again."

Theo told the voice, but the voice just chuckled in his head.

’You are right. Kyle is not an object, but he is certainly ours. He was reborn for our sake. Even if both you and him don’t remember it, this world was created for us to meet again. You will be forced to make your decisions eventually.’

The voice told Theo, but he did not feel reassured.

If anything, he felt even more worried about Kyle. So the voice continued.

’You can always check out the situation yourself if you are so worried. Do you want me to help you awaken your power once more? After all, I did help you open the gate to this dungeon and forcefully start the awakening of the high priest.’

The voice told Theo, and Theo jolted awake with that knowledge.

He had...hoped that this was not the case, but even he could recall opening up the dungeon without meaning to.

So all this was...technically his fault.

’We both don’t want Kyle to get hurt. So allow me to assist you. Raise your hand and enter the dungeon. Allow your power to take over you. We will make sure this high priest awakes peacefully and does his job.’

The voice told Theo, and he followed its advice. He could tell that the voice in his head just wanted what was best for him and Kyle.

And Theo...did want his power back. He wanted to never be separated from Kyle, and he could only do that once he had enough power.

"I don’t know what you are and what the end goal here is. I also don’t know why I can control dungeons. But I want...to have Kyle. I want to be with him and put an end to our separation. Please, help me out."

Theo told his other half, and the entity chuckled.

’Of course I will help you out—’

"After all, we are both the same. And our omega belongs to us both. Now, shall we head out and take care of some problems that have started to arise? It seems like we were gone too long, and some creatures have started to have too many thoughts."

Theo waved his hand, and a portal appeared in front of him. His body disappeared through the portal before anyone knew it.

Downstairs, both Emma and Ben blinked as they realized that they had forgotten something important.

But no matter how much they tried to recall, they could not figure out what it was that they were blanking on.

So they went back to doing what they were doing, not recalling Kyle, Kuro, and Theo’s absence or even Lynn’s visit.
