Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time-Chapter 821: Proposing His Idea
Han Yu continued explaining.
"I have experience working with mechanical constructs and specialized puppets. During my time on the Puppet Peak, I studied several designs used for excavation, refinement and ore extraction."
He paused briefly before adding.
"If properly designed, puppets could potentially mine the quartz with far greater precision than human labor. They would not tire, and their movements could be carefully controlled to avoid damaging the crystal veins."
The Peak Head tapped his finger lightly on the armrest of his chair.
Han Yu continued speaking.
"I already have several ideas for such puppets. However, to properly design them I would need to study the mine itself. The geological structure, the quartz formations, the density of the surrounding rock. Without seeing these things personally, the design would remain incomplete."
He lowered his head slightly.
"If Master allows it, I wish to visit the mine and conduct a study there. If successful, the puppets could greatly increase the efficiency of extraction."
The room fell quiet for several moments.
The Peak Head did not respond immediately.
Instead, he watched Han Yu silently, his expression unreadable.
Han Yu remained perfectly calm.
He knew the proposal had merit.
The sect wanted results from the mine.
If he could present a solution that promised greater efficiency, even the higher elders would find it difficult to reject.
And for Han Yu, the mine was far more than a research opportunity.
It was the place where his enslaved companions were working.
It was the place where he needed to go.
The room fell into a deep silence after Han Yu finished speaking.
The Second Kidney Peak Head did not respond immediately. Instead, he leaned back slightly, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the armrest of his chair.
His gaze remained fixed on Han Yu, not with suspicion, but with careful calculation. It was the look of someone weighing not just the idea itself, but all the consequences that could arise from it.
For Han Yu, the very fact that the old man had not rejected the proposal outright was already a good sign.
If the idea had been unreasonable or carried obvious risk to the sect's interests, the Peak Head would have dismissed it immediately. He was not a man who entertained impractical suggestions. The silence, therefore, was not rejection. It was consideration.
Still, that minute of quiet stretched long enough to become tense.
Han Yu stood calmly on the surface, his posture respectful and composed, but internally his thoughts were sharp and alert. He reviewed everything he had said, making sure there had been no misstep, no unnecessary implication that could cause suspicion. His reasoning had been sound.
The proposal had clear benefits for the sect. And more importantly, it aligned with the Peak Head's own interests.
If the mining operation improved, it would reflect well on the Peak Head as well.
Finally, the old man spoke.
"It might be possible." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Those four words caused the tension in Han Yu's chest to loosen slightly.
But before that relief could settle fully, the Peak Head continued.
"If you are to do this… there will be conditions."
Han Yu's focus sharpened instantly again.
'Of course, there would be conditions.'
He had expected as much from the very beginning.
The only uncertainty lay in what those conditions would be, and whether they would restrict his actions too heavily. Han Yu had already considered several possibilities beforehand. As long as the restrictions did not prevent him from observing the mine or interacting with the environment freely, he could work around most limitations.
He lowered his head slightly.
"I understand, Master."
The Peak Head raised a finger.
"First."
"While you are at the mine, you will report to me regularly."
"I want updates on your progress. What you observe, what you design, what results you obtain."
Han Yu nodded immediately.
"That is only natural."
This condition was expected and entirely reasonable. In fact, Han Yu had already planned to keep the Peak Head informed. Not only would it maintain trust, but it would also ensure that any success he achieved would be directly associated with the Second Kidney Peak.
The Peak Head continued.
"Second."
"You will present a prototype of your puppet to the Puppet Peak."
"It does not need to be perfect, but it must demonstrate the necessary capabilities. You'll need their approval to see if it is viable or not."
Han Yu did not hesitate.
"I can do that."
Internally, he was already calculating the adjustments required.
He had anticipated this condition as well.
No matter what position he held, the Puppet Peak still governed all matters related to puppet craftsmanship within the sect. If he attempted to deploy a new type of puppet in a large-scale operation like the mine without their approval, it would create unnecessary conflict.
But for Han Yu, this was not a problem.
If anything, it was an advantage.
Supervisor Kun would be more than willing to support such a project. Not only would it elevate Han Yu's reputation, but it would also bring recognition to the Puppet Peak. A successful mining puppet design would be considered a significant advancement.
And as for the prototype itself…
Han Yu already had one.
It was not originally designed specifically for the Violet Spirit Quartz mine, but it was a mining-type puppet he had built earlier while experimenting with different mechanical functions. Over time he had modified it, adding precision control mechanisms and adjustable force output.
With a few more refinements tailored to the quartz's fragile nature, it would be more than sufficient to serve as a demonstration model.
The Peak Head raised a third finger.
"Third... You will not operate independently. The mine is under the authority of the sect and the three clans. As such you will be assigned under someone overseeing the operation."
Han Yu nodded again.
"I expected as much."
This condition was perhaps the most important one.
There was no possibility that the sect would hand over authority of such a valuable resource to a newly risen personal disciple, no matter how talented he was. The Violet Spirit Quartz mine was too important. Too many interests were involved.
