Sinner System-Chapter 536: Final Dungeon - Sixth Floor (Part 4)
The barrel shrunk down and widened slightly, before Aarav raised his arm off to the side, a bone bullet shooting out with immense speed and zipping dozens of meters away, disappearing from sight in no time.
"Ohh, I get it...it must have already been in Blood Mode, that’s why nothing happened when I chanted. This feels weird, I can sort of instinctively tell how to operate it...[Blood Mode]," He chanted, the barrel narrowing and elongating, before he firing out a blindingly rapid, piercing beam of blood to the side.
"Nice...now, hurry up and name it so that I can let go already," I remarked with a wry smile.
"Oh, my bad, dude. Uh, let’s see...hm, think I’ll name it after my Class, Blood n’ Bone. Yeah, I’ll call it the Blood n’ Bone Blaster! That’s a bit of a mouthful, so maybe BBB for short?"
"Sure, whatever you want. It’s set as Blood n’ Bone Blaster," I replied, as I let go of his shoulder.
"Cool...this is awesome," He grinned, a gleam in his eyes as he raised his arm and admired his new weapon.
"We should probably get moving soon, shouldn’t we?" Spoke up Cleo.
Gotta say, the further we’ve progressed, the less awkward she’s been. Maybe it’s because of how dire the situation is, seems stress and anxiety is the key to helping her be less awkward around people faster.
"Yeah, we should get going. The sooner we reach the top floor, the better," Nodded Aria prudently.
"Agreed. Avaritia, can you track the scent of the next Sentinel?"
"<Yes, of course, Master, it’s but a simple matter. Follow me>," She nodded, before leading the way.
"<What should I do, my King>?" Inquired Gula, as she slithered after me.
"Hang by Avaritia. Take care of any Monsters that cross our path from up ahead," I replied, after mulling it over.
"<Understood, you can count on me>."
We followed after Avaritia as she followed the scent of the next Sentinel, with Gula sticking close to her as she led the way.
The other Apostles were on either side of the party, Acedia and Ira up front on either side, with Luxuria and Invidia behind Acedia and Superbia behind Ira.
I decided against summoning Ai, since we don’t want to overcrowd the group too much, it could end up being counterproductive.
It’ll be either Aarav or Jaden who fights the next Sentinel, Angus. I hope it ends up being Aarav, since the next and final Sentinel is supposed to be the strongest.
No offense to Aarav, he’s plenty powerful himself, but Jaden’s undeniably a step above him.
"<There are Monsters up ahead, Master>," Avaritia suddenly informed me, slowing down slightly.
"Yeah, I can sense them too, there’s about forty of them," Added Cleo warily.
"Got it. You’re up, Gula, show me what you’ve got. If it’s too many to handle, I’ll-..."
"<No need to worry, my King, it will not be a problem>," She stated confidently.
Well, if she says so.
As we continued moving, the Monsters soon came into sight, several Bullocks and a handful of Minotaurs.
Gula was quick to spring into action, slithering across the grass towards the herd of Monsters with immense speed, her claws gleaming with a venomous glisten. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
She weaved through the space as she closed in on them, slashing at their sides with her claws as she zipped past them faster than they could react.
Agonized roars of pain rang out as the ones she’d clawed spasmed and convulsed, coughing out blood and collapsing with thuds, as her venom coursed through their bodies.
Damn, that looks excruciating, real glad poison and venom have no effect on me...
It didn’t take long before she took down the entire herd, most of them having succumbed to her venom and died, the last few that she’d scratched not too far off from death.
She slithered towards one of the Minotaurs, before snapping her jaws around its side and tearing off a large chunk of flesh, blood streaming down the sides of her mouth as she chomped on it before swallowing.
She then took another bite, eating through the Monster ravenously.
As the rest of us walked over, she stopped eating with a reluctant look on her face, before rejoining Avaritia, her face slick with blood.
"<Could you clean the blood off? Or move a bit further away. The stench of the blood is making it hard to track Angus’s scent>," Frowned Avaritia, her snout twitching.
"Here, use this," I chimed in, taking out a copy of a bottle of water, opening it before handing it to Gula, who dunked the water over her head, washing the blood off.
"<Hm...what clean, refreshing water. Can I have another one>?"
"Uh, sure, here you go."
She took hold of the cap with a curious look on her face, before twisting it off and opening her mouth, pouring the water in.
"<Incredible...I did not know water could be so appealing, I feel so refreshed>."
There is clean water in the Monster world though, I found several crystal clear streams when I-...oh, right, they burned down most of that forest to flush me out.
Guess she never came across one.
Anyway, as we continued on, Gula cut down the Monsters we came across along the way, with some help from Ira and Acedia a few times with the especially large groups.
And it wasn’t much longer before the next ring of pillars came into sight.
Within the pillars, was the next Sentinel, a humanoid bull Monster, laying on the grass with a bored look on his face, a large warhammer next to him.
He let out a yawn and rolled out, before his eyes widened as his gaze fell upon us. His expression brightened as he sprang onto his feet excitedly, picking up the hammer and spinning it around with a grin.
"Ah, finally! Welcome, humans, allow me to congratulate you on making it this far! Hm? Is that Kanine and Medusa? You look different. Well, I suppose it doesn’t matter. More importantly, I finally get to fight! I am Angus, the Bovine King!" He introduced himself cheerfully, a bright gleam in his eyes as he stared at us with a look of anticipation on his face...
