Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers-Chapter 482: Unknown Men Lingering In The Dark
(Author’s POV)
"Wait for me. I will just park the car and come back. Don’t go without me," William said to Myra. She nodded and stepped out. There was a separate parking space just around the corner for all the housing people, so William dropped Myra at their house’s gate.
As she saw the car disappearing down the road, her eyes darted to the bright sunrays, reaching her face. Being cooped up and restricted to a hospital bed for a whole week was really debilitating and exhausting. "This feels rejuvenating," Myra murmured as a cool breeze tingled her skin. After the horrific incident, every breath, the sun, the wind, every single moment felt like a blessing to her.
She was lost in thought when a sudden voice pulled her out of her thoughts, "Myra~ ... you are back?"
Myra flinched, startled, hearing the sudden interruption. Her hands clenched on the side unconsciously as she turned her head around to see Riya Johnson, Prof. Zachary Johnson’s wife. She relaxed and smiled, "Yeah, ma’am."
Riya got close, looking at her head, giving her a look full of pity, "My god, you look so~ ...." She paused midway and spoke again, "Your mom told me what happened. How are you feeling now?"
"I am doing well, ma’am," Myra said politely.
Riya took her hand and said, "Let me see your face. I wanted to come to see you at the hospital, but your mom said that your doctor has restricted the visitors’ access." Her eyes reddened a bit. She was really fond of Myra.
"Don’t worry, ma’am. I am doing much better. This bandage, it is just a precautionary measure," Myra pointed out.
Even if she said this, Riya couldn’t help but feel bad for Myra. Out of the blue, she recalled something and asked, her tone hushed as she leaned in, "By the way, Myra~ .... can I ask~ ... something personal?"
Myra’s eyes flickered, but she still nodded, "Yes, you may."
"The night of your accident, when I was walking my dog out. I saw some unknown people, two or three men, darting around your house. They were all wearing dark clothes and kept looking at your place. I tried to tell your mother this, but she was in a hurry, so I couldn’t. I didn’t think much of it at that time, but now~ ... I think they were bad people. You need to be careful," Riya murmured, her voice eerie.
Myra’s eyes widened, her body tremored from the news. But before she could ask more or respond, William’s voice cut in, "Mrs. Johnson, Myra. What are you both talking about so secretively?"
"Mr. Miracle," Riya jolted because of the suddenness. "Ohhh, it’s you. We~ ... we were~ ..." she fumbled, about to tell him the same thing. But Myra barged in, "Ma’am was just asking about my well-being."
Myra looked at Riya and gave her a subtle nod. Riya sighed and gave in. She said, "Yeah, I was just asking how she was doing." She then looked at the time and said, "Ohhh~ ... I need to go and feed Duffy. Well then. Take care, Mr. Miracle, take care, Myra. Your professor and I will come another time and visit you properly." After saying her piece, she scurried away in the other direction.
William didn’t think much of it. With one hand, he dragged Myra’s suitcase, and with another, he gestured for her to walk ahead, "After you~ ..."
Myra chuckled and started taking baby steps. But her mind was fixated on what Riya had told her. ’Were the people roaming around my house related to Nigel or those kidnappers? Or is there someone else trying to target us?’ Thinking about it, she felt a chill run down her spine. Absentmindedly, she held the handle and turned the knob to walk inside.

*Around ten to fifteen minutes ago*
"Aunt, Uncle Will just messaged that they have entered the vicinity of the university campus," Yelena’s voice reverberated in the living room as she announced.
"Ohh~ .... they are already here. I haven’t even changed. I need to do the dishes and clean the kitchen," Sandra said nervously as she wiped her hands off the apron.
"Ma’am, I will take care of the things in the kitchen. You can go and change your clothes," Brave offered. Sandra was about to refuse, "How can you~ ....," but he didn’t give her the chance as he took the spare apron and busied himself with practiced ease.
Sandra was left speechless for a moment, seeing such an elite, powerful, tall and handsome figure, standing in her kitchen washing dirty dishes.
When Brave felt her eyes on him, he called out, "Ma’am~ ... ma’am~ .... Aunt Sandra."
Sandra immediately snapped out of it and hurried to her room. As she took her clothes out of the closet, she mumbled, "I thought all the young, rich people put on airs. How judgmental of me. But all of Nora’s brothers, they are so well-mannered, especially the eldest one, Brave. Their parents raised all of them so well. Ohhh~ ... such gentlemen. Perfect for my daughters." Thinking like this, she went inside the bathroom for a quick shower.
Meanwhile, in the living room, everything was set. The Everests’ siblings, Yelena, Wendy and Fabian were all present, waiting for Myra’s arrival.
Wendy stood near Elio, talking to him about small things. She had changed into a maroon pleated mid-length skirt and a black body con top. She had even styled her hair in space buns. The whole time, she had a smile on her face.
There was Dion, whose eyes were fixated on the door, while a presence, whom he did not approve of, pestered him. "Mr. Dion, I think a lash got in my eye," Elisa said. "Can you help me with it? It’s itchy."
Dion rolled his eyes. Honestly, neither he nor Alaric wanted to bring Elisa, but William and Sandra had invited her personally. After all, she was their daughter’s saviour. He sighed and turned around mumbling, "Let me see. Tell me which one is itchy?"
"This one," Elisa pointed out to her right eye. As Dion held her face to steady, she grabbed his wrist and mumbled, "Please be careful."
Dion pulled his hand away instantly and said, "I will, but don’t do that again."
Elisa nodded as her hand slipped. Outwardly, she made a straight face, but inside, a smile curved on her lips as she pocketed the very item she had been eyeing. Dion’s protective charm.
