Chapter 341: Forever With You (2)

By the time they returned home, Adrienne was exhausted. She dragged herself to their bedroom and sat carelessly on their bed without bothering to shed her outer coat. Lennox followed her shortly and saw her slumped on the bed, her eyes heavy with fatigue. Concerned, he gently removed her coat, helped her remove her shoes, and tucked her in, whispering soothing words to help her relax.

Adrienne was sleeping soundly within minutes, her breathing steady and peaceful. Lennox quietly left the room, allowing her to rest undisturbed. He found his youngest brother in the hallway, looking at him with curiosity.

"Addie is tired from the photoshoot. Let’s give her some time to rest," Lennox explained to his brother, patting him on the head. "We can play quietly in another room, so she can have some peace and quiet." His brother nodded understandingly, and they both tiptoed away, leaving Adrienne to sleep in peace.

Lennox accompanied Noah back to his room, and the boy rushed to his bed, surrounded by his favorite toys.

Lennox smiled and sat down next to him, asking, "What do you want to play today, buddy?"

Noah’s eyes lit up with excitement as he grabbed a toy car and handed one to Lennox, ready for an afternoon of fun. Among his older siblings, he was most comfortable being with Lennox, though they didn’t initially get along well.

Lennox had always made an effort to understand Noah’s interests and connect with him on a deeper level. Over time, their bond had grown stronger, and now they enjoyed each other’s company more than ever before.

"Addie told me before you asked her to be your mom. Do you still want her to be your mom?" Lennox asked his brother.

Noah lifted his gaze and nodded. "But Addie said it might take some time. But if it’s not possible, so long as I’m with you and Addie, I don’t care who my mom is."

Lennox knew Noah was lacking a mother figure in his life before, and he found it in Adrienne. He had witnessed the positive impact that Addie had on Noah, providing him with the love and support he needed.

"No matter what happens, we will always be there for you, Noah. You are our family, and that will never change." He patted Noah’s head. "But Addie and I are already processing your adoption papers. You don’t have to call me Dad, but you can certainly call Addie your mom."

Noah’s face lit up with a mixture of surprise and joy. He had always longed for a mother figure, and now he finally had one. The thought of officially being part of their family brought him a sense of belonging that he had never felt before.

Tears welled in his eyes as he threw himself on Lennox and hugged him wordlessly. He wasn’t sure Lennox would agree to adopt him, as he was already his legal guardian. He also didn’t want to cause trouble for his older brother and Addie, especially if they were planning to have a child of their own.

"I’ll behave and listen well to you and Addie." Noah murmured between his sobs.

"That’s reassuring to hear." Lennox chuckled. "Now, cease your crying. There’s no need for this, right?"

Noah nodded and pulled away from his brother. He wiped his tears dry and held back his tears.

"Would you like to give me a hand to prepare a special dinner for Addie?" Lennox suggested it to his young brother. With the wedding ceremony coming up, it would be a nice gesture to show Addie how much they cared for her. Plus, it would give Noah a chance to feel involved and helpful in the preparations.

Noah nodded eagerly, grateful for the distraction. He knew how much Addie meant to Lennox and wanted to do something special for her too.

When Adrienne woke up from her nap, she was greeted by the delicious aroma of food wafting through the house. Curiosity piqued, and she followed the scent to the kitchen, where she found Lennox and Noah working side by side, preparing a feast fit for royalty.

"What’s the occasion?" Adrienne asked her husband as they watched Noah mix the batter in a large bowl.

Lennox smiled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "No occasion, my love," he replied. "We just wanted to make good food for you. Plus, Vince is coming home tonight, just in time to attend our wedding this weekend.

"Ah, I forgot it was today. I should have woken up early and helped you as well."

Adrienne rubbed her temple, still feeling exhausted from their long day. She was so caught up with the recent affairs that she could barely keep up with her own schedule. But seeing Lennox’s joy and hearing about Vince’s arrival brought a sense of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming wedding.

Having all of his siblings on their wedding day would surely make her husband happy. She knew how important it was for Lennox to have his siblings’ attendance at their wedding. Although she and Lennox were husband and wife, they never held a proper wedding, and they wanted it to be perfect this time.

--

The wedding day finally arrived, and Adrienne sat inside the bridal chamber, waiting for the ceremony to arrive. She was dressed in the same champagne-colored bridal dress she wore during the wedding photos, but this time the veil was partially covering her face as she sat before a large mirror with a bouquet of flowers in her hands.

Behind her, Myrtle and Valerie were chatting excitedly, while Katherine, Diana, and Stephanie were engrossed in helping Adrienne with any last-minute touch-ups to her hair and makeup. The room was filled with a mix of nerves and anticipation, as everyone hoped that this time everything would go according to plan.

A knock on the door caught the girls attention. Reese and Hunter entered the room dressed in dark suits, looking dashing and ready for the occasion. Reese’s eyes immediately locked onto Adrienne, a warm smile spreading across his face. Hunter, on the other hand, greeted the rest of the girls with a charming nod and a hint of anxiousness in his eyes.

"Are you ready, Addie?" Reese offered a hand for his niece to take. "Lennox is waiting anxiously outside already."

"Who cares about him?" Hunter mumbled behind Reese’s back. Although his sister was already married to Lennox, he still feels uncertain about his brother-in-law.

"Addie, if there’s a day Lennox hurts you in any way, you can count on me. I’ll always be there to protect you," Hunter whispered, his voice filled with genuine concern. Addie smiled gratefully, knowing that she had her brother’s unwavering support.

"I know, Hunter. I trust that you won’t fail to protect me when I need it. But let’s give Lennox a chance. He might surprise us and prove himself worthy of our trust," Addie replied, hoping to ease her brother’s worries.

Hunter nodded, understanding his sister’s perspective and silently promising to keep an open mind about Lennox.

"I doubt Lennox would dare to look for another woman, Addie. He was completely smitten by you from the moment he met you," Reese added, trying to lighten up the mood.

Adrienne rolled her eyes but couldn’t help the laugh that escaped her lips. She was grateful for her family’s support and love, especially on this special day.

"Alright, let’s not keep Lennox waiting any longer," Adrienne said, standing up and adjusting her veil. She took Reese’s arm while Hunter escorted Valerie and Myrtle, and the rest of the girls followed closely behind.

As she walked down the aisle, Adrienne’s eyes locked onto Lennox’s, and her heart swelled with love and adoration. Lennox looked dashing in his black tuxedo, and his eyes were filled with an intensity that made her heart race. She couldn’t believe her dream of walking down the aisle to marry the one she loved had come true.

She could see her mother crying in her seat next to Abigail, who was consoling her. Gavin was standing next to Lennox as his best man, while Myrtle was the maid of honor. No members of the Jiang family were in sight, and the only ones from the Qin family in attendance were Lennox’s siblings.

Lennox took Adrienne’s hand and led her to the altar, where they exchanged their vows and promised each other a lifetime of love, laughter, and companionship. As they sealed their union with a kiss, Adrienne felt like the luckiest woman in the world. She thought that perhaps Lennox was one of the reasons why she was reborn to live her life again. To experience the love and life she missed from her previous life.

"My sweet Addie, my love, you are the missing puzzle piece in my life that I have been searching for so long. I vow to love and cherish you, to be your rock in times of trouble, and to be your companion in times of joy. I vow to be with you until the end of time, through thick and thin, for better or for worse. If there’s another life, I dearly wish we could cross paths again and take me as your life partner. Know that from now on, I’ll be forever with you. You have me now."

Adrienne felt tears prick her eyes as she looked at Lennox. She knew what he was trying to imply—that no one understood but her. Lennox still couldn’t get over the fact that he’d failed to find her and be with her in her previous life, especially when she was at the lowest point of her life.

But Adrienne knew that she was reborn for a reason. She was given a second chance to live her life again, to find love and happiness, and to be with Lennox. She wiped away her tears, feeling grateful for everything that had brought her to this moment.

As the ceremony ended, the couple walked down the aisle as newlyweds, their hands intertwined, as they received warm congratulations from their family and friends. They headed to the reception area, where music was already playing and the guests were enjoying themselves with drinks and food.

Lennox and Adrienne made their way towards the dance floor, where they swayed to the rhythm of the music, lost in their own world. As they danced, Lennox whispered sweet nothings into her ear, expressing his love and devotion to her.

Adrienne looked into his eyes, feeling overwhelmed with emotion. She knew Lennox was the one for her—the one she’d been waiting for all along. She smiled, feeling blessed and content.
