Raised From The Wild-Chapter 256: Found!
The captain’s eyes brightened. "It would be great if it is the Princess. Then we can all go home safe and sound."
They hurried their steps so they could reach the campsite faster.
"Someone is coming," Vasquez announced. All his five senses were heightened but his sense of hearing was the best.
He looked at the two creatures with faces as cute as a doll lying on the ground. His boss has given him the mission of taking these two ’things’ and treating them like the priceless Heart of the Galaxy. Ha! How can they compare the Heart of the Galaxy?
Even if he was not willing he had no choice. He scooped the two creatures and stuffed them inside his backpack.
"Princess, how long will they stay asleep?" He did not want for any accident to occur. The half-humans, half-spiders could speak. He was afraid that they would make a fuss and attract attention.
"They will be sleeping of six more hours. You can feed them this in five hours." Amaya handed him two pills of sedative.
The three of them hid behind the tree. The tree was so huge that should be a century old. Ten people could hide behind it without being seen from the other side.
They waited for some time before they heard rustles and footsteps. The horses became restless and started neighing.
The two guides were faster and were ahead of the others. When they came to the tree, Marx and Vasquez, pulled them and knocked them on the ground.
The two guides were so scared when they felt the cold cylindrical object pressed on their forehead.
"Please don’t shoot. We mean no harm. We are just guiding the soldiers to look for the princess." The braver of the two spoke. His gaze drifted to Amaya who was now wearing a black hood that seemed too big for her.
While the three of them were preoccupied by the two guides, a few soldiers surrounded them with guns pointing at them.
"Drop your weapons and put your hands in the air where we can see them." The captain instructed.
Marx scanned the soldiers surrounding them and when he confirmed that they were indeed Ra-Iyan soldiers, he threw his gun on the ground. Vasquez followed suit.
"You don’t have to be so impolite." Amaya was annoyed. But she could not blame these soldiers. After all, she was hiding her identity under the hood
She removed the hoodie that covered half of her face.
"I am the Princess of Lireya. Did you come to rescue us or to kill us?" Amaya asked sharply.
The soldiers drew back.
"My apologies, Princess. We scared you. I am Captain Romeo Mendoza and we came here to look for you."
He bowed his head to show respect. When he raised his head and checked the surroundings, he noticed the pool of blood on the ground.
"What happened here?"
"We encountered a ferocious big wolf but he already died," Marx said casually. He came closer to Amaya and was on guard.
"We can escort you to our base camp. It is about 2 kilometers from here. The general is there along with a few other soldiers and mountaineers."
Marx checked his watch. It was not even midnight yet. He thought that it would be a good idea to go with these soldiers. They would not be able to survive if the two other wolves decided to attack them to avenge the death of their sibling.
"Princess, you take the horse. We will walk with the soldiers." Marx said tactfully. It would not be good if the three of them rode the horses while the soldiers walked. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Amaya was very obedient. She was looking gloomy and not herself which worried Marx.
"If you keep looking like that, I would think that you feel sorry that the wolf died," Marx said feeling aggrieved.
"Don’t think too much. I am just thinking about something." Amaya whispered. She did not want to share her thoughts with Marx at the moment because there were a lot of outsiders.
Amaya mounted Artemis. Marx and Vaszques, each held the rope around their horses, then they followed the young captain to their base.
At the base camp...
"General Maza, the captain, and his team are coming back and they have three people with them who have horses." a young soldier reported excitedly.
"Why are you so excited? You seem to have won in a lottery."
"General, the woman riding on a horse is the Princess of Lireya."
General Maza was stunned. The princess was found? After a momentary silence, the general showed a rare smile.
"That is great, then! What are you waiting for? Prepare two more tents for the Princes and her guards"
The soldier took action and soon two additional tents were pitched beside the general’s.
When the Princess arrived, the general, the soldiers, and the mountaineers welcomed her enthusiastically. They were very happy that they would no longer enter Mount Paraiso and lose their lives.
"Princess, you made us worried." The general bowed his head slightly to show his respect. Then he noticed the two white horses and his eyes widened.
"These white horses are very elusive. How did you capture it? Where did you find them?" The general asked excitedly.
Amaya frowned. She could see the greed in the general’s eyes.
"We found them grazing at the plateau over there." Amaya pointed to the direction of the peak of Mount Jania.
"I see. We have been to that area a few times but did not have a chance to come in contact with the white horse. I suppose that it has something to do with luck as well."
"You are right, General. It has something to do with luck." Amaya replied nonchalantly.
"Do you think your guard will agree to sell me the white horse?"
"No!"
"No!"
Both Marx and Amaya shouted at the same time.
The General stepped back. He was surprised at the animosity between the two when he mentioned he wanted to buy the horse.
