Chapter 186: First Day In School Again!

Nelida noticed the gazes of the King and Queen on her. Her heart skipped a bit. Was she too obvious?

Amaya looked at her Aunt Nelida and gave her a truthful answer. "Marx did not want to admit it but I think he spent some of his own money, especially, on the construction of the Secret Garden. But Auntie, the money I spent on the island is mine."

"Sister, so the rumor that you are the richest woman in the world is true? Is it also true that you brought a lot of treasures from that island?" Donello asked. He did not have any ill intentions when he asked the question.

"The rumor is not true. But yes, I brought some treasures. Marx helped me sell some of those to buy Verde Island and the rest, I used to make jewelry. If not for the volcano erupting, then we could have gotten more."

Prince Ibarra looked at Amaya thoughtfully. He wanted to ask how much treasure she brought but his pride prevented him from doing so. It was hers and she can do whatever she wants with it

’"By the way, Dad, the principal advised me today that I am promoted to college and has given me a recommendation letter. I will transfer to Lireyan Alpha University tomorrow." Amaya shared the information with her father.

"Finally, you are moving out of high school. It is just right. My classmates will not mock me anymore for having a sister who is too old but still in high school." Danella who rarely spoke to Amaya suddenly blurted out.

"Danella!" Three voices called her at the same time. Three pairs of eyes glared at her coming from the king, the queen and the crown prince.

"Is that how you speak to your elder sister? What kind of attitude is that?" Prince Ibarra admonished her.

"I am speaking the truth, Father. She is already eighteen and still in high school." She retorted.

"Don’t be angry with her, Dad. It is okay. I am not offended at all. It is the truth anyway." Amaya was magnanimous. Prince Ibarra heaved a sigh of relief. He was happy that he did not have to scold Danella too much. If only she can be as sensible as Amaya.

"Alright everyone, let’s have our dinner." King Duncan announced. Amaya felt guilty. Did she use the family’s dinner time to discuss her personal matters? King Duncan seemed to have guessed her thoughts.

"We have a good discussion today. I encourage everyone to use this family time to share anything or discuss issues that you encounter."

Amaya released a sigh of relief.

...

Amaya left early the following morning. She has instructed her driver to drop her off at the at huge gate of The Lireyan Alpha University. Wasn’t it just a few weeks ago when she had her first day in high school? Now it is her first day in university. Her classmates should be the same age as hers.

Her footsteps were very light as she walked towards the Science Building where her classes should be. She was wearing blue jeans and a white cropped blouse with long sleeves. Her copper brown hair was tucked behind her right ear and secured by five pieces of hairpins with small flowers made from red amethyst. Her hair was freely cascading from the back and the front. She did not have any other jewelry apart from the hairpins and the ring on her finger that Marx has given her.

She spotted Dean Calixto at the entrance of the Science Building. He seemed to be waiting for someone.

"Good morning, Dean" Amaya greeted her politely.

"Good morning Amaya." He greeted her back. "I am waiting for you. I will introduce you to your class."

Amaya followed him to the door at the end of the corridor. She could hear the unruly students inside the room. Clasess has not started yet.

She and Dean Calixto to entered the room and everyone became silent. Several eyes were on her and she heard gasps and whistles.

Amaya saw two more people enter the room and her eyes widened.

Dean Calixto looked at the person who just entered. One was the professor and the other one was another student who just transferred.

"Good morning everyone. Since your professor is already here, I will introduce your new classmates to you. This is Julienne Green and of course, you already know Princess Amaya Rocas. Ladies, please introduce yourselves." Dean Calixto said.

Julienne grinned at Amaya. She could see the surprise in her eyes. She looked at her classmates and introduced herself confidently.

"Good morning, classmates! Dean Calixto already told you my name but I will repeat it so you don’t forget this face. My last name is Green, as in the color green like my eyes and my first name is Julienne. You can call me Jule for short or if you are close to me then you can call me Julie. Princess Amaya is my classmate in high school and I am accelerated with her. Please take care of us, classmates."

Julienne nudged Amaya. She seemed to be in a daze as she was looking at her. "It is your turn, Princess."

"Good morning everyone. My name is Amaya Rocas and this is my first time in a University." Amaya’s introduction was brief and then she curtsied in front of the class.

After their brief introduction, Dean Calixto left the classroom and they find a place to sit. The only remaining available seats are the ones in front so the two new students have no choice but to sit in front.

The Professor has taken his place in front. Amaya looked up and met a pair of grey eyes. Her eyebrows arched. ’So he is also teaching in college.’

Stephane took out a stack of paper from his leather bag and ask a student to distribute the test papers around.

Julienne cursed under her breath. She leaned closer to Amaya and whispered. "What bad luck! It is our first day and we have an exam. I’ll be doomed. I will definitely fail."

Amaya chuckled. "Let’s try our best. We will definitely not fail!"

"Miss Green, Miss Rocas! Are you complaining?"
