Chapter 185: The University Student

Amaya and Julienne were standing in front of a big mahogany table. There was a silver nameplate on the table and the name "Dean Calixto" was written in an elegant cursive style. Behind the table, a man in his early 40s, with a scholarly look was sitting on a big black leather chair. He pushed back the spectacles on his nose as he glanced at the two high schoolers in front of him.

"What can I do for you, young ladies?" He asked without standing up.

Amaya passed her an envelope and a letter from the Principal of Lireya National High School.

"You are Princess Amaya?" The dean asked in disbelief. He scanned the woman in front of him. She was wearing her high school uniform. She looked very pretty. She does not have any hair accessories, except for the hairband that secured her half-bun on top of her head. She has no makeup, not even lipstick, and yet her beauty still enthralled him.

"She is, Dean" Julienne answered for Amaya.

The dean stood up and bowed slightly to Amaya to show his respect. Amaya raised her hand gesturing him not to bother with ceremonies. One thing that Amaya hate about being a princess was when people even older than her would bow down before her.

"No need to stand on ceremonies, Dean. In this university, please treat me as an ordinary student."

’How could it be? She is the first princess! How can we not treat her differently?’ The Dean kept his thoughts to himself. He read the letter that Principal Lazada sent him. He also checked the different admission tests and his eyes widened. ’Is the Princess a genius?’

"What do you want for your major, Princess?" Dean Calixto called his assistant over. There was some paperwork that Amaya need to do.

"Zoology and Biology," Amaya said decisively.

The dean was dumbfounded. She wanted a very difficult major. He swallowed before replying to her. "You need to fill out the admission form. Liza give it to her."

Liza passed a stack of paper to Amaya. She pointed to a table in the corner and Amaya dutifully filled in her admission form. She passed it to the Dean after completing everything.

"You can start reporting to school tomorrow. I’ll have someone email the details of your schedule and classroom assignment.

"Thank you, Dean. We will not trouble you anymore as we need to go back to the high school department to settle some things." Amaya said respectfully then she led Julienne out of the office.

Julienne and Amaya walked silently back to the high school campus.

"I’m going to miss you, Julie," Amaya said when they were about to reach their building.

"I am just here. We can have lunch together." Julienne said matter-of-factly. "Do you want to say goodbye to your classmates?"

Amaya shook her head. She does not like to say goodbye. "Maybe, I can do that some other time." She went to her locker and took a few things that she kept there and they walked in the direction of the gate.

"You can announce the news to our classmates. I’ll treat you and a few of our friends to lunch next time." Amaya spoke to Julienne with a gloomy voice before she walked to a black car parked in the corner. Her steps were heavy. She was conflicted and not sure whether she feel happy or sad about entering college.

In the Asteria palace, at the dining hall that evening, the entire Royal Family was present. Even the young prince Yohan who normally has his dinner earlier because he sleeps early was also there.

Amaya was pleasantly surprised to see everyone seated at the dining table.

"Grandma!" She went to where the queen was sitting, gave her a quick hug, and greeted her enthusiastically.

"Sister, Spirit misses you. He hasn’t seen you for a few days." Yohan’s cute voice entered her hearing.

Amaya laughed. "I missed Sprirt and Yohan too. Don’t worry, I will definitely play with him this weekend."

"Grandpa, Daddy, sorry I missed dinner this past few days. I am very busy. The construction at Verde Island was already completed. After Zanzara’s wedding, I want to hold a housewarming ceremony and I hope to bring the entire family there for a short vacation." Amaya shared excitedly.

"There is a very long swimming pool. The girls and Yohan will surely enjoy it."

"I have seen the areal view. It looks like a great place to spend a weekend." King Duncan said.

Amaya projected her tablet on the wall of the dining hall. She showed photos and videos of her palace on Verde Island including the 3 level pools at the Secret Garden and the long winding swimming pool around the villas.

"Sister, the place is so beautiful. Can I hold my birthday party there?" Donello asked expectantly.

"Why not? There is a banquet hall inside."

"Father, Can I invite my classmates and friends and celebrate my birthday there?"

Princess Nelida looked at her husband and she could tell that he will agree.

"Son, there is no safe place as the palace. You can hold your birthday party here." Nelida spoke gently to Donello.

Amaya was silent. She want to say something but decided not to. She did not understand why her Aunt Nelida seemed to be drawing a line between her and her cousins. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"But Mother, we have the party every year in the palace. It is already boring. I want to have it at a different place this time. Father, can I have a party at Maharlika Palace?"

"Nelida, I don’t see any reason why he can’t hold his party there. The place is easy to secure." Ibarra said curtly.

Nelida can only purse her lips and clenched her fists. She cast a furtive glance at Amaya and cursed her in her heart.

"You must have spent a lot of money on building that palace, Amaya. Is the money given to you by Marx Skylar?" there was a hint of sarcasm in Nelida’s voice. It did not escape King Duncan and Queen Lucinda’s attention. Both gazed at Nelida meaningfully.
