Raised From The Wild-Chapter 184: Her Palace
"Amaya did not blink at all. Her focus was on the snake under the water. At the right moment, she dipped her hand into the water at lightning speed and held the snake by the neck. However, she underestimated the strength of the snake.
The snake coiled its body around Amaya’s legs. Amaya tightened her grip around the snake’s neck. The snake tightened its coil around Amaya’s legs. She felt that the bones in her legs were about to crush. She was was about to fall when suddenly she felt the coil on her legs loosened.
Marx with his dagger slashed on the upper body of the snake. It was cut in half and the water that was clear earlier was dyed red.
"Are you okay, Aya?" Marx asked worriedly.
"I am fine. Thank you." Amaya’s legs were still weak because of poor blood circulation. "The water is dirty here. Let’s go upstream to rinse. Your clothes are tainted with blood and you have to rinse it."
Marx dug a shallow pit with the intent of burying the snake.
"Let’s bring the snake with us. I can still extract its poison to make antidotes."
Marx looked at the headless snake in his hand and the bleeding head that was on Amaya’s hand."
"Okay." He agreed. He followed Amaya as she tried to move upstream. After they cleaned the blood from their clothes, Marx and Amaya get off from the stream.
"He buddies, you can stay here tonight. Stay close to each other and don’t go too deep okay?"
The animals accompanied Marx and Amaya back to the palace. They however remained in the confines of the forest and did not go back to the palace.
Amaya was starting to sneeze. She hurried to her room and took a hot bath. How she wished that she brought with her her personal maid, Lilia to assist her.
It was only after taking a bath that Amaya realized the bedroom she entered had clothes that perfectly fit her. She wondered if it was Marx who purchased them.
When she went out of the room, she met Marx in the hallway. He has also taken a bath and changed into a pink teeshirt and casual walking shorts. Amaya was in a daze looking at him because it was the first time she saw him in such kind of clothing.
Amaya smiled at him.
"Let’s have lunch. I asked the chef to prepare something special and we can have it in the garden on the other side of the palace.
Amaya followed Marx to the west side of the palace. There was a pool that ran along one side of the twelve villas so the pool was very long. It wasn’t wide but rather it was narrow, winding, and long.
People from the villa can directly jump from the balcony on the ground floor of the villa to the swimming pool. There was a pavilion in the middle of the pool. It can only be accessed by riding a swan.
"Why do I feel that this palace has a vibe of an amusement park? Do you want me to entertain that many guests?" Amaya asked Marx.
’Of course not! I just want you to enjoy your new house." Marx assisted her into the Swan boat and he pedaled toward the Pavilion. Amaya looked dreamily at the surroundings. The exterior of the villas was beautifully decorated and blended well with the background.
They reached the Pavillon in no time and lunch was already waiting for them.
"I did not know that the food tastes better when the ambiance is good!"
"Some restaurant do not sell food but rather, they sell the ambience." Marx replied to her comment They started eating.
"By the way Marx, the clothes in my room, did you prepare them?"
"Yes. So you don’t have to worry even if you visit here and did not prepare anything."
Amaya looked at Marx adoringly. How could a man be so good to her?
Marx coughed lightly when he noticed that Amaya was looking at him in a daze. "Is the food not to your liking?"
Amaya retracted her gaze. Her cheeks were showing a pink blush that made her look alluring.
"The incident at the Ferris Wheel, was it targeted at you?" Amaya suddenly asked.
"I cannot discount that possibility. But I don’t think it is me they wanted. What if it is you?" Marx asked.
"But I don’t have enemies. Who would want to harm me?"
"Are there people who hurt you in the past?"
Amaya snook her head. "Well, Samantha seemed to not like me, but she is too young to come up with such vicious plan."
Marx glanced at Amaya. What a naive girl.
Amaya thought of something. "Zanzara is getting married this weekend. We will be going to Ra-iya for the wedding. Do you want to come?" Amaya did not know but she really have a bad feeling about spending time at that kingdom.
Marx’s thin lips stretched sideways and curled up slightly. He was pleased because Amaya wanted him to come.
"Why not? I have an idea what to do." He said as he winked mischievously at Amaya.
’Is he flirting at me?’ Amaya chomped at her food while stealing glances at Marx.
"After the wedding, you should have a housewarming."
Amaya nodded. "Can I just hire an event organizer for that?"
"Sure, I’ll recommend one for you."
...
The following day, was a Monday and Amaya went to school early. No sooner has she gotten down on her seat when someone looked for her.
"Amaya, the principal is looking for you." A chubby girl who was seated near the door shouted.
"You want me to accompany you?" Julienne asked Amaya.
Amaya shook her head. "I will be alright." She hurriedly walked toward the principal’s office. She knocked at the door and waited.
"Come in!" the principal’s cello-like voice filled the air. When Amaya went inside, he gestured for her to sit down. Amaya obediently sat down. She saw a set of test papers on his desk."
"These are your latest exam results and you had gotten full marks on all of them."
"Thank you principal." Amaya acknowledged politely.
"The reason why I called you because there is nothing we can teach you in high school so you will be transferred to college." The principal told her directly.
Amaya was at a loss on how to react. Was she happy or sad? In the end, she just looked at the principal blankly.
"I understand that this might be confusing you. I, personally would want you to go to college though it is a lost on our part."
Amaya simply nodded. "Thank you so much Principal."
The principal handed her a brown envelope. "This is a recommendation letter that you can show to the dean. If you want I can accompany you later."
"There is no need, Principal. I will just ask Julienne to accompany me." She said curtly. She stood and then left.
Amaya was absent minded as she went back to her classroom. She was happy about it but at the same she was saddened by the fact that she would be separated from the few friends that she gained.
"What is wrong Amaya? Why does your face look crestfallen?" Julienne asked her. She grabbed the envelope and pulled out the recommendation letter. Her eyes widened.
"Amaya, is this serious? Are you transferring to college?" Julienne asked gloomily.
"Yes." Was Amaya"s brief reply. "Can you accompany me to the dean?"
"Sure! You want to go there now?" Amaya nodded. The first time she saw Lireyan Alpa University, she already fell in love with school. The school was actually just on the other side of where she was right now. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Before the teacher can to go their room for the next class, Amaya and Julienne sneaked out. They followed the path that would lead them to the campus of the university.
Julienne and Amaya where wearing their high school uniform so they stood out amongst the other students.
"Excuse me, would you know where the office of the dean is?" Julianne asked enthusiastically. The young man was probably just a first year or a second year university student.
"Do you see that three story building over there?" He pointed to the South to a white three story building.
"Yes, we can see it." Amaya answered him with a smile.
The young man blushed when realization struck him. "How bout I’ll accompany you instead? Dean Calixto’s office is on a building after that one. We cannot see it from this point of view."
"Eh? It is not the three story building that pointed earlier?"
"No, it is not. I told you earlier we cannot see the dean’s office from here."
In the end, Amaya and Julienne accepted the student’s offer to accompany them.
