The Heaven-Cursed Costs Life, But I Have Infinite Life-Chapter 52: Capturing Black Widow Alive, A Deadly Throat Strike
Allen flashed forward, appearing right in front of Black Widow. He grabbed her by the neck, lifting her off the ground. "My patience is limited. If you want to live, hand over the Lightning Skill Book now."
Black Widow’s face twisted in pain, but she glared back at him without a trace of fear. She was a hard nut to crack; she’d rather die than give in.
"Hard as a rock, huh?"
Allen frowned and reached straight into her chest.
Huh?
He felt something soft, round, and full. He couldn’t help himself and pinched it.
Black Widow’s eyes went wide, practically spitting fire. Suddenly, she exploded with power, breaking free from Allen’s grip.
"Damn you! I’ll kill you!" she screamed, flailing wildly and lunging at him with no fight style at all.
Allen was genuinely startled. He kicked her hard, sending her flying backward.
Then, he felt his lifespan drop again; he was poisoned once more.
But this time, the damage was negligible and posed no real threat.
"Uh... listen, do you believe me if I say that was an accident?" Allen asked, feeling a bit sorry for himself. He finally realized what he had just touched. Man, the texture was amazing.
Black Widow stared at him fiercely, her body trembling with rage. She wanted to tear him into pieces right then and there.
Lilia, standing nearby, finally understood what happened too. She shot Allen a vicious glare.
"Who is fighting over there?"
Suddenly, a roar echoed from far away. Flames flickered as a squad of guards rushed toward the scene.
These guys move fast?
Allen frowned. This wasn’t Blackspire. If he caused trouble here, no one was around to cover for him.
"You two, we’re not done with this!" Black Widow didn’t want to fight the city guard either. She threw out a deadly threat and turned to leave.
But Allen was faster. He flashed forward, raised his hand in a blade shape, and struck hard against her neck.
Black Widow didn’t react at all. Her body went limp, and she collapsed into Allen’s arms, unconscious.
"Lilia, let’s get out of here," Allen said, holding her tight.
"Hey, wait a minute. Are you actually interested in this evil woman?" Lilia complained unwillingly. She shifted into her vampire form, grabbed both of them, and shot up into the sky, riding a sudden gust of wind until they vanished into the night.
Just then, a squad of city guards arrived. The captain saw the obvious signs of the fight and frowned deeply. "The rogues must not have gotten far. Search everywhere! Anyone fighting in the city won’t be let off easily."
"Yes, sir!" The soldiers shouted and scattered to search.
...
Long before that, Allen and the others had already flown away, landing on the roof of the tallest building in the city.
The evening breeze blew gently. This building was the landmark of Winterfell, glowing brightly below with lights and crowded with people.
Allen casually tossed Black Widow onto the roof. Realizing that wasn’t quite right, he took out a rope and tied her up tight.
It was the same rope he and Lilia had bought while shopping during the day; he never thought he’d use it so soon.
"Allen, what do we do next?" Lilia asked, frowning. She was curious about the woman’s appearance but dared not get close.
Allen frowned again. His lifespan dropped once more, and the Art of Immortality kicked into overdrive.
Poisoned again?
He looked at Black Widow, who was now tightly bound, but he still couldn’t figure out how she was poisoning him.
"Alright, stop pretending. I know you’re awake," Allen said, kicking her lightly. His voice was cold.
Black Widow dropped her act. She opened her eyes and stared at them with pure hatred, though her mind was far from calm.
She had tried to poison him again and again, yet Allen remained completely unharmed. Could it be that there truly was someone in this world immune to all poisons?
Black Widow refused to believe it. The powders she had crafted weren’t just ordinary poisons; they had a strong corrosive effect, so much so that even she dared not touch them.
"Hand over the Lightning Skill Book and behave yourself," Allen said, crouching in front of her and raising his hand casually.
"Hmph!" Black Widow scoffed, choosing death over surrender.
"You really want me to force you?" Allen’s gaze dropped to her body, and he rubbed his hands together.
Her wide black robes hid a very impressive figure. She had much more going for her than Lilia’s petite chest.
"You dare!" she shouted, panic flashing in her eyes. "If you touch me again, I’ll bite my tongue and kill myself right now!"
"Whatever happens to you is your problem," Allen sighed. He started searching her body again, this time making sure to avoid her private areas.
Black Widow’s eyes went wide. She glared at him with pure hatred, her body trembling slightly.
Allen ignored her and pulled a book from her robes.
"Huh? What’s this?" he asked, looking at it curiously. It was a sketchbook.
Lilia peeked over, surprised. "The Princess’s Love Notes? How old are you, you evil woman? You’re reading children’s comic books?"
This book was famous. Many girls had read it, hoping for the beautiful love stories described inside.
Lilia had read it too, though that was years ago.
Black Widow didn’t answer. She closed her eyes and lay motionless on the ground.
She’d rather face real death than face this kind of public embarrassment.
Allen wasn’t interested in the sketchbook anyway. He tossed it aside and continued searching her.
Black Widow lay stiff as a board, eyes shut tight, offering zero resistance.
"Nothing?" Allen frowned.
He had searched every inch of her body, even ignoring the rule about private parts, but he found no Lightning Skill Book.
Unless this woman had a storage pocket item, or she simply hadn’t brought the skill book with her.
"Hey, stop playing dead. I only want the skill book. Hand over the Lightning Skill Book, and I’ll let you go," Allen said helplessly.
He was truly out of tricks. He could feel that this woman wasn’t afraid of death at all; threats like that were useless against someone like her.
Black Widow remained on the ground, her body stiff, giving no response.
"Allen, let’s see what this evil woman looks like," Lilia said, leaning in. She was curious, seeing only the woman’s eyes peeking out from the shadows.
Allen’s eyes lit up too. He could tell she wasn’t very old.
"You dare!"
Black Widow couldn’t keep up the act anymore. She opened her eyes, glaring at them with pure hatred.
"I don’t care about your threats," Allen said, showing zero fear. He roughly tore off the veil covering her face.
"Aaaah!"
Black Widow cried out in panic. She tried to hide, but she was tied up tight and had nowhere to run.
Under the bright moonlight, Allen finally saw her face, and for a moment, he was speechless.
She was stunningly beautiful but completely cold. Unlike Lilia’s high-and-mighty elegance, this face was icy and indifferent, though her dark eyes added a touch of liveliness.
"Wow, you’re actually a beauty," Lilia inspected her with surprise. Then, she sighed regretfully. "Too bad your methods are so evil. I’m sure no man would dare touch you."
Black Widow ignored her, staring daggers at Allen. "I will tear you into pieces!" she gritted out.
Allen didn’t take her threats seriously. "Just tell me how to get the Lightning Skill Book. I can buy it with gold or trade something else."
"Hmph, do your best to kill me then," Black Widow scoffed, completely unbothered.
Lilia stroked her chin and spoke up. "Allen, she’s covered up so tight, she must be super conservative. Here’s a plan: Kill her, strip off her clothes, and throw her body off the roof. Then write her name on the wall so everyone knows that the top 100 Killer Black Widow is actually a great beauty."
"You dare!"
Black Widow struggled violently, glaring at Lilia. "You call me evil? You, the red-haired ghost, are the truly wicked one!"
"You still dare to insult me?" Lilia jumped back, annoyed. "Allen, do it! Follow my plan!"
Allen gave a wicked grin, rubbing his hands together, ready to act.
"Damn it, I’ll give it to you!" Black Widow was truly panicking now. She wasn’t afraid of dying, but she couldn’t stand the thought of being ruined and talked about even after death.
"Give it here," Allen said calmly.
"Untie me first," Black Widow struggled in anger. Being in the hands of these two made her feel like she’d been completely stripped bare, leaving her feeling very vulnerable.
"No way. Just tell me where you hid it," Allen replied. He didn’t trust this woman. He wasn’t afraid of the poison, but he was worried she might try to escape.
Black Widow took a deep breath, gritted her teeth, and said, "It’s behind my hair. Come get it yourself."
Allen didn’t suspect anything and stepped forward.
Suddenly, Black Widow dropped her head. Two arrows shot out from behind her.
There was a trap.
Allen was alert and dodged one arrow skillfully, but the other grazed his arm. Black blood instantly streamed out.
"Hmph, kid, you’re dead. This is Iron Death Blood. I don’t believe you can survive this deadly poison!" Black Widow glared at Allen with cold confidence. Iron Death Blood was the most terrifying toxin she owned, and she couldn’t even cure it herself.
"Pretty terrifying."
Allen murmured, frowning slightly. He sat cross-legged and activated the Art of Immortality with full power.
His lifespan dropped rapidly. Previous poisonings had cost him only months, at most a year at a time.
But this time, he was losing ten years of life instantly.
Allen dared not be careless. The Art of Immortality spun at high speed, filling his limbs and bones with powerful life force as it slowly neutralized the toxin.
Lilia watched with worry. Seeing the black blood slowly seep out of his wound and turn back to a fresh red, she finally let out a sigh of relief.
In less than half an hour, the poison in Allen’s body was completely gone. He looked excited.
In just that short time, his mastery of the Art of Immortality had jumped by over 200,000 points, reaching over 700,000. If this happened a few more times, he would soon break through to rank 1, level 3.
"You... you didn’t die? This... this is impossible!" Black Widow’s eyes went wide. She stared at the unharmed Allen with terror and disbelief.
Iron Death Blood: She had researched it for over three years and still hadn’t found an antidote. Even a Stage 9 powerhouse would die instantly if just a tiny bit of skin was cut.
But Allen was hit, and within less than half an hour, he had already neutralized the deadly poison.
"You’re definitely not human!" Black Widow suspected he wasn’t even a life form, or perhaps some unknown entity.
Allen ignored her. He stood up and threatened, "This is your last chance. Otherwise, I’ll actually strip you naked and throw you off the roof."
