My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 502: Exposing Her Little Trick
Images of Caleb reminiscent of Jared Quinn flashed through Melody Thorne’s mind, for instance, their knack for scheming and the habits they exhibited when enraged...
As she was lost in these chaotic thoughts, Caleb’s figure had already walked away. Her arm throbbed with pain, and as she lifted her head, there was a different kind of intensity swirling in Jared’s eyes, like a light that threatened to devour her.
"Is what he said true?" Jared Quinn lowered his gaze, staring at her, his deep, magnetic voice restraining his current emotions.
Back then, he indeed protected Ivy because of this matter, ignoring Melody Thorne’s presence.
Melody knew that even if she didn’t say a word, since Jared had started to suspect, he would surely find out the truth.
"Yes," she replied softly.
With a definitive answer, Jared’s gaze deepened, like a pitch-black night sky devoid of any light.
In front of him was a very naive girl.
The coarse, calloused thumb rubbed the spot on her shoulder that had been injured. The scar was almost gone, leaving just a slight unevenness, yet it had indeed been hurt.
Jared’s powerful heart ached subtly, thinking about how she pulled him from the pool when he was unconscious and left with her injured shoulder, his heart felt as though it had been stabbed fiercely with a dagger.
Indeed, he had been gravely mistaken in the past.
He should have protected the disturbed girl who had been neglected for so long, bullied for so long.
"Why did you remove the scar?" Jared’s sexy Adam’s apple moved up and down, bearing it, as a hoarse voice flowed from his throat.
Melody’s hands climbed his firm chest, tracing his cold, deep features, acting coyly, deliberately deceiving him, not wanting him to blame himself so much, "Because I don’t like scars on my body."
"Is it because I don’t like girls with scars?" Jared grasped her hand, slowly pulling it down, unveiling her little trick.
How could the former Melody Thorne go for a scar removal surgery for no reason?
It was simply Ivy’s plan to take everything onto herself, using Melody.
It’s hard to imagine a girl doing so much for him...
Yet he kept acting recklessly in front of her, no wonder the later Melody Thorne changed.
"Jared," Brother Leon Rivers hurried over, interrupting the conversation between the two, "Are you guys alright?"
Jared’s rugged jaw tightened. He got into the car with Melody without saying a word.
Leon Rivers occasionally glanced at their expressions in the rearview mirror. What’s going on with these two again?
They had just survived a major ordeal; now they’re arguing again?
Melody curled up in Jared’s embrace, unable to discern his thoughts.
The Quinn Family was waiting for them, all unharmed, including Mrs. Quinn and the injured Titus Quinn.
When Melody and Leon headed to the hospital, Old Mr. Quinn had already relocated everyone. Titus Quinn had crafted a secret passage in the room they used to their advantage.
Leon Rivers had his people replace Old Mr. Quinn, so when Leon’s people took action, the hospital lights suddenly went out because the person had been replaced.
"Jared," Mrs. Quinn stood up, her eyes already red from crying. She thought her past wrongdoings were over. Every day alone, she was reprimanded enough, yet she didn’t expect the retribution to fall on her two sons.
Titus Quinn was also in a state of disarray, always wanting to go against Jared, his own brother, yet he never imagined it all stemmed from their mother.
