The battle escalated fast! The Toranks and the Hescos were desperate to kill each other, while the latter prioritised taking down the nasty mirrors first and foremost, while the former did their best to shield the mirrors from any incoming attacks, before firing the God Weapon again and again.

In the middle of all this, Hye was surprisingly hidden in the depths of the space, watching all this through a feed from many of his scattered forces. As the Grand Elder suspected, he didn't plan on simply retreating. And outside of the Grand Elder's expectations, he didn't plan to wait till the Toranks were defeated.

The grand prize wasn't in taking mirror fragments back, but in hijacking the ships carrying intact mirrors. Once the battle erupted, Hye sent lots of small ships stealthily and calmly, walking through the obvious gaps in the enemy ranks, taking advantage of their focus on the incoming Hescos fleets, and deploying his Soulers and Reapers over lots of the mirror-carrying flagships.

As the battle extended for hours, Hye was only laughing deep within as he received frequent reports of his warriors taking control of more ships.

He couldn't send a huge number of his ships and warriors, or else they would risk getting detected. So he had to send a small number of them on a regular basis, while taking longer than expected to take over a single ship.

Yet the end result was staggering! He gained more than a dozen of these ships! And now all he needed to do was to go and claim his prize.

"I think this is enough," Hye watched the two sides killing each other for many hours till they had little forces left, "the Toranks will never touch the homeland of the Hescos, and the latter won't let them even escape. The myth of the God Weapon falls here, ends here, but not for me, hahaha!"

As he was forced to choose between going to help his kingdom's fleet or take more loot from the Toranks God Weapon, he decided to do both! He went towards his kingdom's fleets and supported them using lots of ships and warriors. Then he returned using his staff portal and waited in the shadows for the right moment to intervene.

"Time to grab my grand prize," he slowly approached the gathering of his claimed ships, while both sides were now lost in fighting each other to even notice the sudden gathering of a dozen flagships together. By the time anyone noticed this, Hye was already there, opened a portal back to his Second Earth world, and let the ships pass through it.

Once he secured his gain, he didn't hold back any longer. "Attack freely," he gave the order, "separate those mothefckers from their mirror ships, and send all the Soulers and Reapers vessels we have to take control of more of them."

Even if he gained all this, he didn't say no to adding more. At this stage, the Toranks' defeat was set in stone the moment the defensive grid was activated. They couldn't escape, they couldn't attack, and they couldn't freely move without getting intense fire from these defences.

Hye took advantage of all this, and luckily for him, the Hescos played the distraction role perfectly. They attracted the full attention of the Toranks, causing them to forget about the foe who kept them staggered and struggling for many hours.

"What are you waiting for?!!" Watching the feedback of the ongoing battle, the Grand Elder was the first to spot what Hye was doing. He left his bed, walked with the help of his guards, and headed to Moth, who got a heart attack the moment he saw the look on the Grand Elder's face; pure fury!

"Send everything we got, secure these mirrors fast before that greedy human takes them all!" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

The Grand Elder knew what Hye was after, and even if the threat ended, there was still another hidden battle between the two of them, over who would get the most out of the spoils of war.

It didn't need a genius to realise that whoever had the most of the spoils would be closer to uncovering the truth about the God Weapon. The Grand Elder knew the source of the powering fuel for this scary weapon came from their homeland world. And yet he didn't believe Hye spent all this time down there, exploring and crushing the illegal cities, without taking in tons of the God Ore.

Knowing this made the Grand Elder envision the future. Having such a strategic weapon should be limited to the Hescos only. The ore came from their homeland. Even if he didn't know yet how, he knew cleansing his homeland from the Toranks spies and hidden cities would end up severing the supply line for the Toranks.

Even if they had little ore storage left, they would take a long time to make a similar weapon, and they wouldn't risk using it openly as they had done so far.

Even if this applied to Hye, something told the Grand Elder that this human was different. Even if he had little of this ore, he would end up finding a way to maximise the use of it, perhaps even finding another source for it, or even worse, finding a way to replicate and mass-produce this ore.

The deadly war took a sudden turn where everyone was racing to secure more loot and spoils, while the remaining enemy forces were getting butchered everywhere in the Hescos' homeland.

The battle kept going on for days and even extended to the next week. The Grand Elder never forgave any force that joined the treason, ending up executing lots of ancient forces in their race after properly investigating their reasons.

The treason was something, and the reason that drove such pillars of the empire to backstab the entire race was something else. He needed to know why, needed to know the reason behind all this. And yet all that he reached was very simple and primitive; greed for more power and authority.
