Chapter 160: The religion of the Lost Lands!

The fragmented memories of a native of this lost lands was mostly filled with fanatical worshiping of a false god!

At least, to Anon, this being that they worshipped could not be considered God.

Besides the chanting which, for the most part, sounded like the song of a devil, there were also regular offerings to be made by the native people, toward this so-called god.

’Indeed, to describe this being, the title of Devil would be more accurate.’ Anon pinched his chin in thought.

’Huh?’ Anon’s brows furrowed.

’Devil?!’

Anon’s body suddenly transformed into starlight that dissipated in the air as he rushed out of the tunnel in less than five steps!

The tunnel which he shot out from trembled upon experiencing his power. Standing in the dark third layer of the mind swallowing abyss, Anon’s gaze was cold and sharp.

’Devil? Devil?! Such a familiar... Who else is a devil?’ Anon’s thoughts churned rapidly through his mind.

’Does this have anything to do with that bastard? But that wouldn’t make sense, after all these are natives to this Lost Lands...’ As his thoughts reached here, Anon gritted his teeth.

Squinting his eyes, his brain worked on overdrive as he began making deductions. Clicking his tongue rhythmically, his expression froze and darkened continuously!

’But a religion? Ever since the great rebirth, I’ve not heard much about religions, especially one with such an entity playing God. Then, what relation would this have with Seth?!’

The continuous clicking of Anon’s tongue intensified as his thoughts reached here.

"Ugh!" Anon bit his tongue by mistake, causing him to wince in pain. At the same time, his eyes lit up momentarily as three words appeared in his mind.

’New World Order!’

’That does indeed sound like the name of a fanatical organization. And then there’s the fact that I’ve never heard of them before.’

’At the time, I hadn’t thought about the Lost Land, however isn’t the Lost Land the only place on earth unconquered by humanity? Father’s reach here isn’t as comprehensive as it is in the Victorious Fighting Country. If there is a New World Order, highly likely, it would be based here.’ Anon mused.

’And Seth!...’

A deep scowl appeared on Anon’s face, twisting his face into an unsightly expression. The speed of his thoughts though, only increased.

’Regular sacrifices? Blood offerings... Blood?! Seth Constantin and this Devil. Seth must be this Devil, however how would that make sense? Seth Constantin... Seth...’ Anon’s eyes were cold, his breathing almost ragged at this point.

Sigh...

He took a single step toward another cavity in the abyss’s wall, and space propelled him towards this cavity.

Upon entering the tunnel, Anon moved like a blur, appearing in the depths of the cave in a blink.

Within this cave, there was the usual rotten scent.

There weren’t any corpses in sight, however Anon’s radiant eyes perceived the wraith that crawled along the walls of the cave.

It had a humanoid upper and lower body, however its eyes were hollow and black, almost akin to an abyss.

’Thinking too much will get me nowhere.’ Anon observed the wraith and actively approached the creature, ’Not only do these creatures benefit my soul and improve my will, but the memories I acquire upon devouring them, even if fragmented, will answer all of my doubts in time.’

Anon’s intentions were simple.

If one wraith’s memories were too fragmented to discern much, then what about five, seven, or even ten?

After all, even if its mostly fragmented memories, as the quantity increased, it would be akin to acquiring more and more pieces, raising one’s chances at solving a kind of puzzle.

Naturally, this was all on the basis that he successfully devoured these wraiths, and did not go insane in the process.

However, although he had underwent a slight mishap with the previous wraith, Anon was still very confident in his prospects.

Unless he delved into the fourth layer, Anon did not believe that he would come across a wraith that greatly threatened his mind.

’That previous wraith was in a state of evolution. One can say that it was my bad luck that caused me to cross paths with it. Since I successfully devoured that thing, these normal wraiths shouldn’t pose much of a threat.’ Anon mused.

Though the first wraith was excessively pathetic since it was more or less an ordinary mortal soul from the old world, Anon thought that the average wraith would naturally fall anywhere between the first wraith and the previous one.

Finding a middle-ground between the two, Anon thought that at that level, it would not be too challenging, giving him quite a bit of confidence.

When Anon reached within an arm’s length of the wraith that crawled along the walls, it suddenly lunged into his heart, causing Anon’s perception to falter.

Hmm?

’This one’s a little stronger than the soul from the old world.’ Anon mused inwardly.

A peculiar, foreign emotion spread from within his heart, filling his chest. His eyes opened, the world revealing a sight that could not be forgotten.

Anon found himself standing in a pool of blood reaching his ankles.

Looking into the distance, no matter the direction, wherever he perceived, this pool of blood stretched for as far as the eye could see.

This was a strange world.

There was no land, but only an endless blood sea.

In the skies, Anon saw massive bodies that littered the skies, much like the drifting rock region in the Lost Land.

At first glance, it appeared to be celestial bodies, but upon closer inspection, they resembled asteroids drifting space, however this space was the skies.

Anon blinked once, and when he opened his eyes again, these asteroids underwent drastic transformations.

Asteroids...?

No, Anon saw.

In fact, they saw too.

They were no drifting rocks, and no celestial bodies. Not asteroids, but in fact faces. These were massive faces that drifted through the skies!

He couldn’t see it before, but when he observed closely, the features of these faces suddenly became familiar to him.

Anon’s gaze faltered as his pupils trembled.

Two streams of blood tears trickled down his cheeks as he took in the world.

As he shifted his gaze away from these faces, the features of these faces faded from his mind. He did not remember at all, what they appeared like.

At the same time, he finally took in the blood-colored skies.

"Have you observed enough?"

An unfamiliar voice resounded.

Though unfamiliar, as it reverberated throughout his mind, Anon unconsciously turned towards it, a sensation filled with expectation coursing through his heart.

When he retracted his gaze from the skies and looked towards the origin of this voice, what he saw was an indescribable figure standing with his back turned.

Red hair cascading down his back, the figure’s hair fell into the ocean. Each strand like an endless, ever flowing river of blood, connected to this vast ocean.

No!

Was this ocean even an ocean?

Or did it originate from this man’s strands of hair?

Anon’s heart was filled with only reverence.

He only glimpsed at the man’s hair and did not dare to look again.

His knees bent slightly and his back began to bow towards this figure, this indescribable entity.

A godly being deserving of nine kowtows...

Anon’s knees almost touched the blood sea, however just as he was about to kowtow, the very world began to quake.

"How dare you!"

A ferocious voice resounded out.

Space folded and shattered.

The blood sea crystalized and the indescribable figure slowly began to turn around.

The skies were shredded, showcasing a dark void beyond as the countless faces in the sky fragmented under an invisible pressure.

As the figure turned, the world faded.

From Anon’s figure, an endless aura of brilliant light rose into the skies, and his bent knees straightened, his back upright once more.

The indescribable figure had turned around completely, and Anon’s gaze was like two ancient sun stars that met with this entity’s gaze...

"How dare you try to make me bow!" Anon scowled, his tone was one of utter fury.

"These false emotions have no place in my being. Begone!" Anon furiously growled as the world turned to crimson particles, dissipating in the void.

"I said, begone!" Anon’s voice resounded in the void.

The crimson particles became mortal dust, forever and eternally disappearing.

In the darkness of the void, the mighty and imposing celestial sun star never shone with such intensity before.

Under its endless might, the crimson star that previously attacked it was immediately shattered from its core, and swallowed by the sun star in the blink of an eye.

Its power was swiftly drained and eagerly devoured by the sun star.

In its furious intensity, it absolutely purified the crimson star’s energy, refining endlessly, not even giving it the slightest chance to react.

The void continuously trembled as the ancient sun star released endless waves of pulsating energy.

At the same time, Anon opened his eyes, his golden orbs trembling from rage.

That indescribable figure!

’I clearly saw its face, so why can’t I recall it now?’ Anon gritted his teeth in anger. He got up and slammed his fist into the nearby wall.

Under the power of his fist, the wall instantly shattered as an uncontrollable and chaotic energy pierced into the depths of the rocks.

The tunnel quaked and shattered stones fell, however Anon was in no mind to pay attention to these minute details.

"How dare you try to make me bow?!" Anon exclaimed, his body trembling.

"Daring! Too daring!" He growled, his voice almost beastly.

"When the time comes, I’ll skin you, chop of your limbs, and degrade you. I’ll have you eaten alive, and sliced into ten thousand pieces before burning your soul in hellfire."
