My Billionaire Ex Beg For A Second Chance-Chapter 57: Crowned In Light
Felix had always been grateful for the perks of being a man of influence and wealth, but today—watching Katherine and the twins walk beside him, eyes wide with excitement—he was especially grateful for it. The passes he secured didn’t just promise convenience, it guaranteed their precious memories without the hassle of waiting in endless lines or sweating beneath the scorching sun.
As they passed through the amusement park’s towering, colorful entrance—where music played from hidden speakers and costumed mascots greeted guests with waves and hugs—Felix couldn’t help but smile to himself.
Definitely the right choice, he thought, glancing at Katherine, who held Nathan’s hand while Maya bounced slightly with excitement beside her. Like I’d ever let them wait in line on a hot day like this.
Their first stop was the souvenir shop just beyond the gates. It was shaped like a giant carousel, adorned with swirling golden horses and a red-and-white striped awning. Inside, the air-conditioning provided a welcome relief, and every corner sparkled with trinkets, plushies, keychains, and colorful accessories that shimmered under the soft ceiling lights.
"Alright, just accessories for now," Katherine reminded, her voice warm but firm as she looked at the twins. "Souvenirs we’ll get later before we leave. We don’t want to carry too much all day, right?"
"Okay!" Maya chimed, already veering off toward a display of headbands shaped like animal ears and crowns.
"Got it," Nathan said, slightly more serious but clearly intrigued as he wandered toward a shelf full of funny hats.
Katherine stayed close behind the twins while Felix lingered a few steps back, his eyes subtly scanning the space—half out of habit, half out of an instinct he didn’t quite understand around them. Protection? Pride? It was hard to say. All he knew was that seeing them so carefree made something tighten gently in his chest.
Maya giggled as she tried on a fluffy pink cat-ear headband, then switched to one with fluttery butterfly wings. "Uncle Felix! Look at this!" she called, spinning toward him with the band sitting slightly crooked on her head.
Felix smirked. "Adorable," he said, fixing the band for her as she beamed.
Nearby, Katherine picked up a pair of glittery antenna headbands and held one out toward Felix. "I’m choosing one for you. No complaints."
He raised an eyebrow, amused. "Is that so? Then I get to pick one for you too."
"Fair enough," she said with a playful tilt of her head before turning her attention to a rack filled with glowing halos and oversized bows.
While Katherine busily weighed her options, Felix wandered toward the back corner of the shop. Something had caught his eye—a glimmer of soft light reflecting through a glass display case. He stepped closer and saw it: a delicate crystal tiara headband resting on a velvet cushion inside the display.
He flagged down a nearby employee.
"Excuse me. That headband in the case—could I take a closer look?"
The young man blinked, then nodded with a professional smile. "Of course, sir. Right this way."
Felix followed him behind the counter, where the headband was retrieved from a sleek, satin-lined box. "This one’s a limited edition," the employee explained. "Designed by Lucy Kang. The crystals are genuine Swarovski."
Felix didn’t hesitate. "I’ll take it."
He returned just in time to see the others gathered near the checkout. Maya had picked her unicorn horn headband, with silver glitter and rainbow fluff. Nathan had settled on a cool baseball cap with a small logo of the park’s mascot. Katherine stood beside them holding a light-up halo headband with soft white fluff at the base.
"All set?" Felix asked, slipping seamlessly back into the group.
"We’re ready," Katherine said, then noticed Felix’s hands were empty. "Wait—what about mine?"
"It’s already at the counter," he replied smoothly, gesturing toward the cashier where a sleek white box sat beside their pile of trinkets.
Katherine stepped forward, already rummaging through her purse. "Let me pay, please. You already got the tickets—"
"No, no." Felix beat her to it, already handing over his sleek black card to the cashier with a small smile. "I’ve got it."
Katherine blinked, then sighed as she watched the transaction complete. "Felix..." she tried again, voice softer. "Seriously..."
"Nope," he said lightly, tapping his card against the reader. "Let me take care of everything. That includes sparkly headbands and unicorn fluff."
"You spoil people," she muttered under her breath.
He grinned. "Don’t say that like it’s a bad thing."
Once outside the shop, the group paused near a large pillar adorned with ivy and fairy lights, where park maps and hand sanitizers were stationed.
Katherine handed Nathan his hat and adjusted Maya’s headband for her. "There," she said. "Perfect."
"Your turn," she added, turning toward Felix and holding out the halo headband. "I know it’s a bit generic, but I thought of you when I saw it."
Felix raised a brow, amused. "Generic, huh?"
"It lights up," she said, flipping the switch. The tiny LEDs blinked softly in the sunlight. "You helped me that day in the cafe, remember? Like an angel showing up out of nowhere."
Felix went still for a moment, struck by the memory—and her words. Then he crouched slightly so she could slide the headband over his hair. It sat somewhat askew, slightly absurd, and entirely adorable.
"I can’t believe I’m wearing this," he said with a chuckle.
"You promised," she teased.
He gave a theatrical sigh. "A man must honor his word."
"Now your turn," Katherine said, eyes narrowing curiously.
Felix reached into the bag he was holding and pulled out the white box.
"Wait..." Katherine said slowly. "Why does mine come in a box?"
Maya gasped, eyes wide. "Whoa! That’s so sparkly!"
Even Nathan leaned closer. "That’s not from the same rack we were at."
Katherine gave Felix a suspicious look as he opened the box and revealed the gleaming tiara headband inside.
"Oh, no," she muttered. "That’s expensive, isn’t it? I knew it."
Felix said nothing at first. Instead, he gently took the headband and stepped closer to her. "It looked like something made for a princess," he murmured, brushing her hair back slightly before settling the tiara into place. "Or a queen like you." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Katherine’s eyes widened. She hadn’t expected him to be this close, to say that.
Behind them, Maya clapped. "Mommy, you look like a real queen now!"
Katherine laughed, flushing slightly but letting the moment settle around her like sunlight. It was silly, extravagant, and borderline romantic—and it felt wonderful.
Then Felix leaned in again, his voice lower this time, a whisper just for her.
"This is just the beginning," he said, his breath brushing her ear. "Of me pampering you and the kids."
