Legendary Beast Tamer: Starting With Legendary Rank Sword-Chapter 40: Beast Supply and Rearing Department
The examiner outside ran towards the chamber while bringing an energy drink for Felix.
Felix quickly drank the energy drink and perceived his stamina returned.
Although his qi didn’t recover from the energy drink, at least, he was now able to breathe normally.
Krisha also entered the chamber and asked the examiner who accompanied Felix inside.
"Shouldn’t we pause the assessment first? He needs to take a shower and change."
Felix smiled at Krisha as the examiner replied, "Oh, no. We are already finished. The fourth step, which evaluated the sword, has also been completed. We are currently gathering the data we received from the battle earlier.
Felix can now take a shower and rest. It might take half an hour or more for the result to finally be released and his license to be issued."
He turned towards Felix and said, "You can use this chance to visit the Beast Supply and Rearing Department."
Felix asked, "I’m still at the Awakener Rank 5, one minor rank away from contracting a beast as my pet. Will it be fine if I bring a beast pet I fancy later to establish a connection first?"
The examiner giggled and nodded. "That is exactly how you increase your chances in establishing a soul contract with a beast. So, yes. As long as you fancy a beast and decide to take it home, you can have it. A beast tamer there will even give you a manual about the beast—the healthy lifestyle, foods, etc."
Felix nodded with a smile.
A tug on his shoulder caught his attention and he noticed Krisha was staring at him with eyes filled with concern.
She asked, "You should take a shower now. You reek of blood."
Felix chuckled and nodded.
The examiner, who brought the energy drink, came towards them and said, "I will guide you to the nearest locker room."
Felix followed his lead as Krish and Lucia followed behind him.
...
Twenty minutes later, Felix had just finished changing his clothes after taking a cold shower.
He was now sitting in the locker room, wearing the new clothes provided by the examiner.
Krisha and Lucia, who decided to venture around the Beast Tamer Department while waiting for Felix, were now returning to the locker room.
Felix was currently communicating with the Flowing Rain Sword and discovered that he didn’t possess memories of his previous owner.
The Guide suspected that the Flowing Rain Sword’s spirit must have undergone a rebirth, which should be a relieving message for Felix.
The chances of it rebelling if it still has possessed extreme attachment to its previous owner was high.
Five minutes later, Krisha and Lucia finally opened the door and entered.
Felix glanced at Krisha and rolled his eyes.
"There’s only five minutes left before the result is out. Should we still visit the beast rearing department?"
Krisha shrugged. "Of course. Even if there’s five minutes left before the release, it might extend, you know. They can wait."
Felix fell into silence.
Guide said, [I think it’s better for you to go look for your first beast pet, host. Don’t worry, I will guide you. I can sense the bloodline of the beast, especially their potential, so you’ll definitely pick the best one among them.]
Felix’s eyes sparkled.
He suddenly stood up and walked towards Krisha.
"Please lead me there."
Krisha was dumbfounded. She rolled her eyes and turned around, telling Lucia to lead them to the Beast Supply and Rearing Department.
...
The Beast Supply and Rearing Department was responsible for breeding and raising young beasts, providing a starter or compatible beasts to registered individuals, and ensuring beasts were stable and safe before purchase.
They coordinated with the Beast Evolution Department to make progress for the latter’s research of the beast’s evolution.
It was to ease the beast tamer’s obstacle they would face in evolving their beasts’ rank.
The Beast Evolution Department’s main goal was simple—to break the ceiling of the beast’s limit.
At present, they only achieved their main goal only for beasts up to the Unique rank. Epic rank and above... their progress went stagnant.
It was understandable. The higher the rank, the higher the difficulty they faced in finding the perfect formula to evolve the Unique rank beasts to Epic rank despite having a potential limit at Unique rank.
Going back to the Beast Supply and Rearing Department, they possessed two core functions—controlled breeding and early stage rearing.
The controlled breeding focused around maintaining the approved beast species, preventing unstable or dangerous lineage mixing, and ensuring predictable growth patterns.
The early stage rearing focused around raising beasts from birth to juvenile stage, monitoring their health, temperament, and energy development, and applying basic conditioning for them.
When their raised beasts were eligible for sale, they were categorized into standard class—for Beast Tamer who could only reach Commander rank, Elemental Class—for Beast Tamer who could reach Lord rank, and Rare Lineage Class—for Beast Tamer, who mostly afford to raise the beast until the adulthood.
Each beast was sold with a lineage record, health and growth report, energy signature profile, and temperament assessment.
To acquire the beast, the Beast Tamer must be a registered Awakener or higher, pass the basic compatibility screening, and sign a Beast Bond Responsibility Agreement.
After knowing the requirements, Felix wasn’t worried about failing the first requirement—the examiner already assured him that he could acquire a beast.
At the moment, they were now being led by a staff, who showed first the Elemental Class beasts, particularly around with water energy for better compatibility.
They checked every beast and Felix’s face remained straight throughout. The Guide had not spoken a word, so there was obviously no beast worthy to become his first beast pet.
When they were done with the last one, the staff glanced at Felix and the latter shook his head.
The staff smiled bitterly and said, "We can try on beasts with ice affinity. The compatibility with you is still within the acceptable range."
Felix nodded after receiving the green light from the Guide.
