Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!-Chapter 182: Scent
In the next second, Seraphina Redgrave slowly walked to the door, her gaze firmly locked on it.
"Knock..."
Before the person outside could finish knocking, Seraphina swiftly opened the door and tightened a belt around the visitor’s neck.
But the person outside grabbed Seraphina’s wrist, his fingers long and strong, with a lifelike black cat tattooed on his wrist.
Seraphina froze in place.
The man’s hand propped against the doorframe, leaning against the door, his voice elongated, casting a shadow that almost enveloped her.
He lifted his baseball cap, slowly moving his hand away from his face, revealing stunning amber eyes. His low voice spread through the room: "Trying to murder your man?"
It’s Ethan Sterling. Seraphina relaxed but was still filled with confusion: "Why are you here?"
Upon hearing this, Ethan released the belt in Seraphina’s hand, removed his mask, and looked at her with a raised eyebrow: "You see, even if you really wanted to run, I could find you immediately."
"I wasn’t trying to run."
Seraphina lowered her hand, explaining with a blank expression.
"If I didn’t know, you wouldn’t be standing here and talking to me." Ethan stood at the door, watching her without any movement, reluctantly speaking: "Not letting me in?"
Indeed, she truly didn’t want Ethan entering, but she had no choice.
Seraphina stepped aside for Ethan, speaking: "How did you find me?"
Never mind determining the general area; she lived in one of the rooms of a large suite. How did he find it? Did he knock on doors one by one?
Did Ronan and Beatrice see Ethan?
"Your aura is in the room."
Ethan replied, then lifted his suitcase and entered the room.
What aura?
Seraphina didn’t understand.
But if Ethan was lying, Ronan wouldn’t be so calm now; he would’ve been screaming and tearing open her door.
Seraphina looked at the suitcase in Ethan’s hand: "What’s this?"
As she spoke, Seraphina closed the door.
"I have to attend a meeting tomorrow, so I’ll be staying with you tonight."
Ethan mentioned casually, tossing his cap aside.
Seraphina recalled that she had read about the well-known financial conference happening in the neighboring city, just didn’t expect Ethan to participate.
No wonder he didn’t stop her from coming earlier to scout.
With such a tempting opportunity, how could Ethan resist?
"Choking me."
Ethan looked at Seraphina, hinting for her to untie his tie.
Doesn’t he have hands?
Seraphina turned on the light, walked to Ethan, tried to untie his tie, and discovered it was the same one Ethan used to tie her hands yesterday.
There were marks left from rubbing against the wall.
Ethan’s clothes were always worn once and never touched again, his ties meant to be "disposable," yet he wore this one again? What was his intention?
Seraphina found the tie peculiar all over, wanting to pretend she didn’t see it, spoke: "It’s not good for you to stay here. Members of The Defiance Society are also in the suite."
Ethan looked at Seraphina, snorted coldly, and said: "You dare! Sleeping in the same room with another man, your courage is growing day by day."
"For safety purposes, we’re sleeping separately in the bedrooms. How did it become sleeping in the same room from your mouth?"
Seraphina frowned, looking at Ethan.
Besides, we’re only staying one night here, worrying about being discovered by people from The Elite Society. Neither Ronan nor Beatrice would think too much about such nonsense.
"Hmm."
Ethan snorted, "Make them move out."
If it wasn’t for her locking the door, he would have kicked it open.
Seraphina struggled for a while before finally untying Ethan’s tie; his tie always evoked unpleasant memories for Seraphina. She was absent-minded and took a while to respond to Ethan’s words, saying: "I need to ensure their safety."
That’s her responsibility as president.
"You were caught sleeping in the same room with others. Can’t even protect yourself, yet want to ensure their safety?"
Ethan spoke through gritted teeth, his voice full of displeasure.
Indeed.
Ethan was certainly more threatening than The Elite Society group.
Seraphina eventually lowered her head: "Fine, I’ll ask them to find another room, but you need to arrange protection for them."
Originally, she could protect them, but since Ethan was here, let him assist.
Ethan snorted again.
Seraphina looked at Ethan’s expression, seeing he wasn’t intending to trouble her further. She couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief, ready to throw the tie away.
Suddenly her hand was caught by Ethan, the tie still in her palm, one end hanging.
Ethan approached Seraphina, his amber eyes riveted on her: "Don’t make me warn you again, keep proper distance with other men."
"Ronan and I are just classmates."
Seraphina spoke again.
Why does she keep explaining such trivial matters? It’s annoying.
"If it wasn’t just classmates, he’d be dead already." Ethan squeezed Seraphina’s hand.
Such arrogance.
Upon hearing this, Seraphina knew Ethan must’ve looked through all The Defiance Society member’s profiles.
She answered casually, freeing her hand from Ethan’s grasp: "You must be tired from the journey, why not take a bath first?"
She knew Ethan wouldn’t leave her room.
"Together."
Ethan pulled Seraphina towards the bathroom, she really wanted to knock him out, but eventually didn’t act.
After leaving the bathroom, Ethan took the chance to kiss Seraphina when she had just managed to wear her bathrobe.
She wanted to leave but was dragged back by Ethan.
Ethan easily picked Seraphina up and placed her on the cabinet beside the door.
With all her weight forced onto the cabinet, Seraphina couldn’t help but frown. Ethan stood in front of her, kissing the center of her furrowed brow, trailing down her bridge of the nose.
Seraphina knew she couldn’t escape, sighed, and spoke: "To the bed."
After saying that, she hugged Ethan, intending to cling to him. Before she could shift her weight, the door was knocked on.
"Bang, Bang, Bang!"
Seraphina’s eyes widened, sitting back onto the cabinet, starting to push Ethan’s shoulders.
Ethan’s gaze chilled, biting lightly on Seraphina’s face, grinding his teeth deliberately, causing Seraphina to take a gentle breath from the pain.
"Someone’s here."
Seraphina looked at Ethan, hoping he’d have some shame.
Ethan stood in front of Seraphina, hands propped by her side, listening to her words. He smirked, lowered his voice, and said: "Not my damn business."
Must be insane.
She might not have locked the door.
Seraphina was anxious, but heard Beatrice Fawcett’s voice outside: "Seraphina, I’m really nervous facing the competition for the first time. I feel my mindset is off. Can I talk to you?"
