Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 61: Their Happy Child [2]
[JUNGWOO]
"The crown prince says he’s headed to Incayon to meet with Alpha Kim Rania," Riva said carefully because she knew what it meant to the crown that the prince was headed to the psycho’s home.
Even though the royals expected that, they at least needed a heads-up. Then again, they couldn’t rip their child away from the person he trusted so much, now would they?
It was obvious that Jungwoo trusted Rania with his life and was willing to bet everything on her. They had known that yesterday when he wouldn’t stop talking about the forsaken alpha.
"Alright. Did he take two warriors with him?" the king asked after a prolonged silence. He was convincing himself that he didn’t want to keep his son hostage.
He didn’t want Jungwoo to feel like he was in another prison in the palace, so he would pretend like he wasn’t the least bit bothered, even though that idea alone upset the whole of the kingdom. Maybe they would let him learn some things for himself, right?
"Yea, your highness," Riva said as she bowed her head to the royals.
Today, the king of the wolves and his queen would prepare for the feast their son had requested and they would wait for him. There was only one way to get the prince back to the palace sooner. And that was to hasten the party preparations.
"Okay then, tell the kitchens to fasten their space and make sure everything is ready by three o’clock. We don’t want night coming before the prince is here. We wouldn’t want him to face everything that we all have over the years, okay?" the king said and Riva just bowed respectfully before leaving.
She knew it was a tempting time for the royals and frankly, she understood them. They couldn’t cage a prince so they would try and work with him, even though it was a bad idea whenever Kim Rania was involved.
"Seojoon, our son...he—"
"Relax honey. Everything will be alright. Besides he does know anything about the psychotic alpha Rania. You don’t need to worry too much. I have a feeling that Rania won’t even tell him anything," Seojoon said to his wife.
He knew Rania wouldn’t want to hurt her friend and just like the king and the queen, she would definitely want the prince to find out everything on his own.
"May the goddess be with them then," the queen said as they walked toward the palace kitchens to oversee the princesses. Today was a beautiful day and they wouldn’t let the idea of Rania ruin their lives.
"No one should tell the prince anything about Alpha Rania. Whatever it is, let the other wolves tell him and not anyone in this palace, alright?" the king said to his servants in the mind link.
That applied to even the two warriors who were with the werewolf prince and en route to Incayon.
It was an unspoken rule, to never mention Rania to anyone in the palace, and right now, with the prince back, they didn’t need to tell him the possible hell he was walking into. Some lessons and secrets were better learned on a lone trip.
"Yes sire," the werewolf warriors and knights agreed as they continued the duties. They had all the same idea, and that was to make sure that the prince kept his smile while he was in the palace and even beyond.
While everyone was preparing in the palace, Jungwoo was almost at the gates of Incayon. He looked so happy today. He was currently dressed as the royal prince of Obren, just like everyone would definitely have expected him to be dressed as an adult.
The clothes were a little too tight for him, probably because he had been in rags in the past thirteen years.
Now a young adult, the prince had to work with the customs of Obren. He was smart enough to hold onto his father’s teachings even though he had been in enemy territory for years.
"These lands are so fertile. It’s really nice to see the outside like this. How’s everything been?
"Any wars that I may need to know of before I get into the system?" Jungwoo asked the two warriors who were with him, and they contemplated telling him of the horrors that their lands were facing, but they couldn’t.
The warnings were so clear.
As much as Rania was hated by everyone, they are also painfully aware that Kim Rania was the only one who could get the monsters of the night to stay away from Obren. Funny how they had worked tirelessly to hate the woman and were somewhat glad that she was back.
Of course, that was a secret that was levied within the palace only. It wasn’t open to anyone beyond the palace and such was the bitter truth of it all.
A king was protecting his people by letting them stay oblivious of the fact that the one they all had hurt the most, was also the one who had the ability to have them all.
Oh, how fate worked in mysterious ways.
"Your majesty, I think you should enjoy nature. There are a lot of things that end your attention and if you focus on them today, you will grow older than the gatekeeper of the night," one warrior said and they all burst into laughter. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
The legend of the oldest gatekeeper of Obren was told in every werewolf household and to their children so they wouldn’t be scared. They all were forced to believe the gatekeeper would keep them safe and had been at it for years now.
Rumor had it that the soul of the gatekeeper roamed around to keep obren safe from the monsters of the night. But was there any truth to that? No one could frankly know. It was, after all, one of the greatest puzzles that Obren had come to live with.
"Alright alright, I see what you did there. Anyway, let’s rush to Rania, I have a lot to talk about with her. It’s already been a little too long," Jungwoo said, and together with his warriors, they saddled through the harsh cold wind and in the direction of Incayon.

Incayon was as busy as usual with everyone preparing for the feast of the prince. They were all so happy, just like every other pack in the kingdom. So when the prince reached Incayon, he wasn’t surprised that everyone was delighted.
"Incoming! The werewolf prince of Obren!" the warrior at the gates announced as the frenzy that had once been there just doubled. Everyone was confused. Why the hell would the prince be here when he had a party to organize?
Some were already thinking that Raia had done something to him and that he was here to see to it that she was punished.
Soon enough the mind links were filled with people trying to guess what Kim Rania did this time, for her to have the great werewolf prince come for her in Incayon, of all the damned places
"All hail the prince!" the Incayon gatekeeper said while Jungwoo just smiled at the guy for doing his work. He watched the people who looked like they would allow him to step on them just for his glory and while the idea was absurdly interesting, Jungwoo had only one reason to be here.
He was happy too but he needed one person in particular.
His best friend.
His dear Kim Rania.
