Chapter 60: Their Happy Child [1]

[JUNGWOO]

"Good morning Obren!" Jungwoo greeted as he walked the palace hallways. It had been long since he had been home and now that he was here, he wouldn’t waste any time wallowing in his memories of a life he had suffered through for thirteen whole years.

He wanted to whine about it, but then in thirteen years, so much had happened. He would use his current time to keep himself a little busy and sane enough to teach himself how further he would catch up with all that had been happening in his home.

"Someone’s in a good mood!" The Queen Eunbi said to her son whose smile made her smile even more. The whole palace had missed this kid and now that he was here Eunbi didn’t have a raisin to curse the goddess anymore.

Her child was back.

The apple of her eye had come and hell be damned, she wouldn’t let him be harmed by anyone else. It was however disturbing that the prince of the lovely lands loved the woman so hated by these very lands. He cared for her and the queen honestly didn’t know how shit would turn out.

"Yes mother, it’s a beautiful day to throw a damn party. I may not know anyone here, but you can help me with that, right mother?" Jungwoo excitedly said to his mother who was just smiling at him.

This woman was willing to do whatever it took to see her son happy and throwing the grandest party Obren had ever seen was what he wanted, then sure as hell, the queen would get her child what he ended up with.

"Yes, dear. Well, go walk around the palace, catch up with the horses, and know how much has changed. If anything, go have fun, child. I will handle the party. You need not worry about it, mother knows how to have the grandest party, that too for my only child.

"Oh, how I love you," queen Eunbi said and for a moment, Jungwoo’s smile faltered. He knew Yanna was supposed to be a secret to the realm, but was she that much of a secret that even their mother didn’t openly acknowledge her?

"Alright, I’ll see you around! Remember mother, the grandest party Obren has ever seen! And please invite everyone who can come alright," Jungwoo said to his mother who just sighed. Her child hadn’t changed even once.

He still wanted the most attention, but that’s alright because he would soon become of age and the queen and king would have to retire from the monarch.

"Run along, child. Be careful alright!" Eunbi said to her son who had already disappeared from her sight. She was excited about the party too, and even though she knew there was a chance that the psychos would come, this time, she truly wanted them to come.

The psychos had brought home her child and if they wanted extra payment queen Eunbi would give it to them. She was a mother, and a grateful one at that.

"Good morning my love," the king greeted his queen who was all smiles. King Seojoon loved seeing the smile restored on her face after thirteen years. He would do anything to see it stay there. She looked too pretty with her smile and fuck, she was radiating and glowing.

The king was proud that he had booked on the worst and even then, they had done their jobs to the best of their abilities, which may have included murder. Then again, the psychos and order warrant really that surprising combo.

What mattered was that the crown prince, Jeon Jungwoo was home, and they were there to watch him be happy.

"Morning, honey. It’s a beautiful day and we already have duties," the queen said and her husband just smiled at her. Whatever his favorite people wanted, he would give it to them, no questions asked.

"Yeah sure, I’ll come along. And before you send me away, I’ll have you know that the royal council is taking care of everything else. We get to be happy again, my Eunbi. I could have a whole year for celebration, but the produces would run out by then if we keep it up.

"Which is why, you and I, my love, will have to give our son the best of the best. Speaking of our prince, where did he go?" King Seojoon asked Eunbi who just dragged him to the balcony.

The werewolf prince was sparring with the knights and he looked so good while at it. Even though he had been captured for years, he wasn’t as frail as the king and queen had feared he would be. Instead, he looked so joyous and strong.

The scars from the silver burns were there but their son was happy out here and free.

For the next hour, the king and his queen watched their son have the best of his time. He was back and frankly, there was so much joy in the palace and without a doubt, the whole kingdom. Word had already been sent to the packs of Obren and everyone knew that the prince was back.

Of course, the king didn’t fail to mention in his letters that it was all thanks to the two psychotic alphas of Incayon and Calindra.

It was a day worth celebrating because the worst of the werewolf had worked for it, and hell could take a seat and watch what heaven looked like, because they were planning to reign in it for as long as they could.

"He looks so happy, oh my heart," Eunbi said as she watched their son. She was so happy and if she could, she would have gone there to run around with him. But she couldn’t, not because of the customs for the queen, but because she wanted their son to have his freedom.

He was no longer a prisoner and that’s what mattered most.

Their son was alive, he was healthy and they couldn’t ask for anything else.

"Come now, love. Let’s go prepare the party, or we’ll be in trouble with him," the king said, making Eunbi realize that they had a party to plan. He hadn’t wanted to take away her happiness because her happiness was his happiness and their son’s happiness too.

"Alright," Eunbi said as she slowly walked away for the kid she had been waiting for for so many years. Their child was back and Nathaniel wasn’t going to take him anymore.

They had not talked about Jungwoo’s condition and the fact that the vampire king had taken their son from them. Instead, they had focused on being happy. Even for just a day, they all deserved a break for all the pain the loss of their child had caused them.

They would be happy and nothing would take away that form from them. Not anymore.

"Your highness, a message from the crown prince," the messenger, Riva said and the royals looked at the messenger in surprise. They hadn’t even been away from their son for thirty minutes and there was already a message for them.

Well, they knew he was excited to scour the kingdom, and hopefully, that was all there was to the message Riva was bringing to them.

"What does it say, Riva?"

"The crown prince says he’s headed to Incayon to meet with Alpha Kim Rania."
