Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 59: The Calm Before The Storm
[RANIA]
"The prince is Yanna’s brother," Rania said and Dalrae looked at her like there was something wrong with her words.
Without even saying a word, Dalrae stripped and joined Rania in the bathtub. She needed to get more of this and finally understand what the hell the goddess was playing at.
"The prince, as in Jeon Jungwoo. That prince is the obnoxious Yanna’s brother? Wow, I guess I have to prepare a burial spot for the prince too," Dalrae said and Rania let out a faint smile while she looked at her best friend disbelievingly.
"What? I already had a burial spot for Jihoon, for when we kill him. If the prince is going to be a problem, I gotta dig another one. Preparation is better than being ambushed," Dalrae smirked and Rania felt like she was alive again.
Only her Dalrae would think of digging the werewolf prince another grave, instead of worrying about the consequences.
"When do we begin?" Dalrae said, her tone ever so serious that Rania was worried for her for a moment.
Rani knew Dalrae and even though right now she sounded psychotic, there was a really high chance that she would go on and do what she had said. She was always on Rania’s side, and even when it was dangerous, she would always stay by her side.
After all, they were the sisters of a lifetime.
"Dalrae," Rania said quietly, looking at her best friend who scooted over and pulled her into a hug.
Rania was a mess and Dalrae was here to be a mess with her, before fixing her up. It was easier to join in than to try and understand from a distance, because when it came to emotions, Kim Rania was a round block of wood that didn’t show anything.
Granted, Dalrae had broken her walls over time, but she still protected herself, because at the end of the day, her dreams and nightmares reminded her that everyone would leave her.
"I missed you, Rani. Everything was so empty without you, and the fact that you went to Drarun with your enemy, just got me worried even more. Hell, I even fought with some rude ass alpha at the camp for saying you were a curse.
"You should have seen his broken nose and limbs. It was satisfying to hear him cry out with broken bones and fingers that couldn’t do shit. if it helps, I fixed him up right after breaking his bones, and no alpha even stepped in to help him Damn, that felt so good.
"I think he was from the pack near Carlinda. Those bastards think they run the world just because their neighbors hate your enemies. Oh just wait, Imma teach them a lesson. they should know—" Dalrae ranted but Rani cut her short by letting out a peal of laughter.
It was weak, but it was a laugh after all.
This was the first time she had been happy in the past few weeks and she was with someone who didn’t judge her or even try to change her. Dalrae was willing to go to hell with her, and that alone made Rania happy.
"So you technically broke an alpha," Rania said and they burst out laughing.
The two of them spent the next hour chatting and reminiscing about everything that had happened when they were away from each other. It was sad, but healthy for both of them, considering they had each other.
"Goddess, I love you, Rani," Dalrae said and Rania just pulled her into a hug, again, saying, "saranghaeyo, Dalrae."
"I know you’re tired and hungry, so we gotta feed you first," Dalrae said when they were out of the showers. She threw some clothes at Rania, as they kept chatting about their lives and the aggressions they had both managed to rub off on each other.
It was their beautiful moment together. the sisters who had been away from each other for far too long.
"At least Paloma knew her limits," Dalrae said.
"Well, the whole mission felt a little too crazy but when has anything that I get into ever been normal?"
"Touche."
The two friends spent the rest of their evening stuffing their faces.
It wasn’t a bother to them at the moment, because that was their happy meal. They both knew that there was more that they ended to do because when all was said and done, Rania would still remain the alpha of Incayon.
It didn’t matter that her people hated her. She was responsible for them all, and if she was weak, she wouldn’t be able to protect their obnoxious asses from their enemies who had been eyeing their home for so many months and years now.

[JUNGWOO]
"Oh son, it’s been so many years since I saw you. I—" Queen Eunbi said as she hugged her son again. This was the reunion she hadn’t expected and frankly, even though they had sent the psychos on the mission, she had her doubts.
She could tell that Rania knew a little more than she ended to know and there was also the chance that Rania would fight them with the facts in her hands, but she hadn’t done anything. Instead, she had been kind enough to bring her son home.
"It’s alright, Mother, Rani wouldn’t ever do anything to harm me," Jungwoo said proudly like that was the only thing he had gotten from the whole mission. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
He had told his parents of everything that had happened, but he left out the part that Rania was having nightmares which were definitely associated with his parents. He would find that out later on, but until then, he would focus on what had gotten them here.
"Rani?" King Seojoon asked carefully, wondering whether Rania had done something to their son. They hadn’t done anything to Dalrae so why would Rania do this to their son?
"Yes, Rani. Do you remember the time before I was kidnapped, I had two best friends who I always played on the palace lands with. The one you said was too beautiful and would someday become a storm person in Obren?
"Well, they were Rania and Dalrae. I missed Dalrae too. I guess I’ll just have to make a trip to Incayn to see them both. It was crazy how Rani saved me while she ensured they wouldn’t know.
"I have an awesome best friend!" Jungwoo said to his parents proudly like a kid that had just gotten candy.
He looked different and happy.
The king and queen of Obren looked at each other in wonder at what their son was on about. Whatever it was about Rania, it had to be so important that even after so many years out in captivity, their con would still remember her and be good to her.
What would he do if he knew everything that was happening to Kim Rania? At that thought, the king shook his head, as if to snap out of the trance he was in.
If he had thought losing his son was screwed up, then realizing that the most hated psycho alpha in the whole of Obre was his son’s best friend, was truly fucked up.
"Get some rest soon, we can chat up tomorrow. I’m so happy you’re back home!" Queen Eunbi said as they left their son’s chamber room and walked out, their faces mortified like this was karma greeting them.
