Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 58: Why, Hello Incayon, My Insane Love
[RANIA]
With the damned mission complete, Kim Rania knew the worst was about to hit her.
She knew the prince would find out about what she had done to Yanna and while the idea of going against Jungwoo almost terrified her, if she had to kill Yanna again, then without a doubt, she would.
That was the constant reminder that she didn’t regret one bit, and frankly associated it with fate. However, right now, as she saddled one of Jihoon’s horses to the land that didn’t want her, she only had one person in mind, her Dalrae.
It had been two weeks since they had last seen each other and it was safe to say Rania wanted to feel that someone wanted her around, or even needed her.
She ignored the sun burning her back, and didn’t even stop to take a break, and after four hours, her first stop was at the gates of Incayon.
The home that never really was home to her.
The Incayon pack.
"Kim Rania is back!" the warrior at the gates announced as custom demanded. There was no excitement in his voice, but Rania didn’t care about that. What she cared about was that she got to see Dalrae and she got to get some rest. She truly needed it.
"I thought she was sent to her death?" One of the people said, and Rania wasn’t going to focus on that.
"Dalrae being the alpha is much better than her," another scorned at her, and Rania wanted to answer him, and tell him that even she thought the same, but she just didn’t have enough strength to bite back at them.
Nothing had changed.
"Oh, great, here we go again with her unwelcome self showing up," Alpha Kim said once he saw his daughter on the other side of the gates.
For a father who hadn’t seen his child for so many weeks, he really did know how to welcome her back in. He looked like he was just seeing one of the rogue warriors who had apparently confessed their sins and was back for retribution.
It was cruel of him, and he knew it, even his wife was painfully aware of that, so why let her husband be that cruel to their daughter?
All of this could have long been stopped, but instead of standing by their child like any proud parent would they had jumped ship and joined the never-ending hate train of Rania. It was devastating, but that was what Kim Rania had to deal with on a daily basis.
If Dalrae hadn’t been here, there was a very huge chance that Rania wouldn’t have made the trip back home. Instead, she would have chosen to leave the supernatural world and seek refuge with the humans.
It would be a completely new environment, but it was better to be with strangers who didn’t know shit about her, than deal with her people. They were an ungrateful bunch and Rania had already made her peace with that.
"Open the gates before she knocks it down and gives us more work in fixing it aye," Alpha Kim said, and Rania just stared blankly at him. They were all desperately trying to get a reaction out of her, but today, they wouldn’t succeed.
She watched as they tried their best to mock her, while taking their time to open the huge gates for her. She was impatient to see Dalrae, but she figured she needed to be patient because frankly, she was too tired to even get into an argument with them.
The fact that she was feeling extremely hungry and overwhelmed made it a little hard for her to focus, and when she saw Dalrae come towards the gates, Kim Rania finally let herself sleep on the horse.
Her savior was here.
That was all that mattered.
"Wait, what happened to her?"
"Is she finally dead?"
"Another word regarding alpha Rania’s death, and I will kill you myself. Now open the goddamn gates before I open them myself!" Dalrae said angrily.
Rania had gone to a war that many hadn’t survived, and managed to come back. That there was a reason for them to be on their knees for her, instead of being bitter old men who had nothing better to say about the woman who gave them their damn statuses in the society.
The Incayon alphas knew of Dalrae’s love for Rania but that was never a reason for them to hate Dalrae. Instead, the love they should have given Rania, they added it to Dalrae. It was like an exchange, but one in which they took from one, and gave to another.
"Yes, beta," the warriors said and the gates opened, revealing a famished pale Rania who was sunburnt and looked like death itself.
"Bring her down carefully. Make sure not to hurt her," Dalrae said and Alpha Kim just scoffed before returning to the field where he had been sparring with some warriors. He didn’t care about what happened to his child.
Luna Kim was watching but she did nothing.
It was quite sad how everyone who should have stood by Rani had left her, and only Dalrae was there for her.
"Take the horse to the stables, clean it, and feed it," Dalrae said to three of the warriors while to two of them she said, "Be careful with my Rani, and follow me."
The warriors followed Dalrae without question into Rania’s room.
"Gently lay here there and tell the maids to prepare good food for Rani. Leave us," Dalrae said and the warriors just nodded respectfully before leaving the beta and her alpha to themselves.
Dalrae looked at Rani and her heart broke for her best friend. So much had happened with Rani and no matter how much Dalrae tried not to be affected by her best friend’s pain, she felt like her world couldn’t handle it anymore.
She looked so worked up and drained. She had new scars, and even though they had healed, Dalrae felt the urge to pay back whoever had tried to cause her harm. Of course, she also knew that there was a high possibility or Rania stopping her, but what could she do?
Lim Dalrae hated it when people messed with Rania just because they could and dalrae felt like there was more to what had happened on this last quest, though she could only hope that Rania didn’t try to hide away her pain.
Gently she undressed Rania, who was still semi-conscious, and carefully walked her to the bathtub in the shower. Even then, Rania didn’t say a word, though she had started regaining consciousness.
By the time Dalrae was done cleaning her up, she just looked at her best friend, and this time, she let the tears flow.
"Oh, Rani. What did he do this time? Tell me, love, I’ll accompany you to kill him this time. I even came up with better plans," Dalrae said, the sincerity in her voice reminding Rania that even if she was at her wits end with the wolves, at least she wasn’t ever alone.
Lim Dalrae was always going to be there for her and that was her saving grace, always.
"The prince is Yanna’s brother," Rania said and Dalrae looked at her like there was something wrong with her words.
