Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 57: Mission Complete, Thank You Psychos
[DRARUN]
Jungwoo had expected Jihoon to stop Rania, but instead, he just shrugged. He was already used to this side of Rania anyway, and that was worrying the werewolf prince a lot.
"One. Two. Three. F—" Rania counted but before she could utter four, the gates opened, from the insides, revealing the king and his queen. They looked so good, that if Rania didn’t hate them, she would have marveled at their presence.
It was a pity she didn’t want anything to do with them and she wished they would choke on spikes every single day of their lives. Funny how her prayers were absolutely different from the prayers of the people of Obren.
The werewolves loved their king and queen and they would definitely love Jungwoo if they heard that the werewolf prince was back. He had to be really special for Rania to love and care for him like that. She adored him, but it was just brotherly love.
"You bastards are lucky," Rania said to the warriors, as she got her hands off the prince, not caring that Jungwoo was staring at her curiously. He already knew their relationship couldn’t be anything other than friendship, but it was amusing.
Rania on the other hand didn’t care about anything, as she fixed up Jungwoo like she was hanging fragile cargo.
It was crazy how she was a bipolar mess right now. But anyone who knew her understood her, the only problem was, they didn’t want to spell it out aloud for the world to know that this woman was just a girl that had been broken by her very own people.
The warriors just looked at Rania with their mouths open, before bowing to the king and queen who stood at the gates. Seojoon and Eunbi hadn’t expected the two psychos to bring back their son and for a while there they thought that they had given up.
Seeing Jungwoo all grown up, felt surreal to them and that could also explain the sheer disbelief and shock on their faces.
Eunbi looked like she had seen a ghost.
She wasn’t sure what she had expected her son to be, but looking at him looking a little frail melted her heart. Her child was home. Her hope was back and all it took was two unhinged alphas who weren’t scared of death to get them their child.
The king was watching Rania and Jihoon.
He didn’t even know how to start spelling a ’thank you’. They had done the impossible. They had made the unexpected happen and had just elevated their statuses in the Obren society. These two may have been whackos, but they are certainly the pair to send to hell to get their people.
"Mama, papa," Jungwoo said as he walked towards his rooted parents. They looked like they were ghosts and their son was increasing his steps towards them. The guards around them thought it was surreal that Obren actually had a prince.
They couldn’t even be blamed for not knowing because when the price had been taken by Nathaniel, Seojoon had claimed him dead, to keep their people at ease, but thirteen years later and so many dead soldiers, their child was home.
He was really here with them.
"My little Woo," the werewolf queen said as she rushed to her child, hugging him so warmly and tightly that Rania’s heartstrings were tugged. She had never seen anyone get affectionate around her, and her parents hadn’t ever hugged her, but at least she was happy for Jungwoo.
Jungwoo looked at his father while he hugged his mother. The ever-conservative king was expected to keep his distance, but as he saw the two most important people to him, he rushed and joined them in the hug. It was so wholesome, seeing their family complete.
"You’re really here, son," Seojoon said after a while when the three of them broke the hug. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Yes, papa. Thanks to these two. They are crazy for even agreeing to come for me in the undead lands, but I’m thankful they did. If Rani didn’t use whatever she used, we would still be finding our way out.
"They both helped me out and I thank them so much for getting me home," Jungwoo said proudly as he looked at the psychos of Obren. He sounded like he was proposing the two as the best of the best, but who didn’t know that in these lands anyway?
These two may have been unhinged and one of them the most unwanted in the whole kingdom, but they loved their people with everything they had and didn’t have. Here and now, they looked a little too composed for people who had been shooting lasers at each other.
The king walked to the two alphas, removing his hand gloves and shaking the hands of the two psychos. Everyone knew that no one had ever shaken the bare hands of the king and yet the first people to do that outside his family were the worst of the worst in Obren.
Wow. The world really was changing fast.
"Thank you so much for keeping your word," Queen Eunbi said as she held the hands of her son, not letting him go. They were still excited and outside the gates of the palace and as always the guards were shocked once again. If they weren’t careful, they would be in hospitals.
"Yeah yeah, whatever. I kept my end of the bargain, now can I go home to my Dalrae?" Rania sighed exaggeratedly. She was truly happy for Jungwoo, but she couldn’t stomach the sight of a happy family.
It was just the painful and heartless and very hopeless reminder that she would never be loved like the others. That no one ever cared for her outside of Dalrae. She hated that truth, but it wasn’t like she had the power to change whatever had happened.
Maybe that was why she was always going to be protective of Dalrae.
"I have to go back home too. It’s a long ride and the Calindra wolves are waiting for me," Jihoon said, almost like he wanted to rub in the fact that Rania didn’t have anyone outside of Dalrae. Plus who knew whether Dalrae still loved her, right?
"I was hoping to give you your gifts today and thank you officially with a feast. But I understand how happy you are today. Please show up tomorrow for the feast, okay?" the king said and everyone around them once again looked like they were about to swallow flies.
So many new things were happening today and the fact that they involved the crazies of the crazies didn’t seem right, and yet it was so legitimate and wholesome. But then it wasn’t like anyone could argue with that anyway.
"Okay fine, we will show up tomorrow. Now pretty please, can you release us? We are still kinda bound to your damn orders," Rania said and the king just sighed.
Even weeks in exile wouldn’t change Kim Rania’s attitude. Then again she was an alpha wolf and a pissed one. She wasn’t going to sit pretty and wait for a prince charming anyway.
King Seojoon looked at Rania and his heart broke for her. He already knew she didn’t want pity, but what the woman had done for her people was commendable. And yet instead of her people standing by her, they had treated her like a cast out.
Of course, the king would never interfere with the packs unless necessary, but right now, he could only hope she was happy when she left this palace. She deserved it.
"Pardon me. Your hands please," the king said and Rania and Jihoon showed their hands. The king then got a powder from his pocket and spread it on the alphas’ hands, before it all faded, leaving Rania staring blankly and bored at the ring. What was this sick joke anyway?
"Great, I hope you never lay a finger on Dalrae, because I will keep my promise. I have lost everything that could ever be taken from me, and if you hurt Dalrae, then I’ll burn the whole kingdom down.
"That’s a promise," Rania said, not caring about Jungwoo, as she hopped on her horse and galloped away.
"Goodbye your highnesses, see you tomorrow," Jihoonsaid as he also left on his horse in the direction of home.
"Thank you again," King Seojoon said as he watched the two go their separate ways. These psychos had made him a happy man and he would never forget their actions. They had saved him in ways they weren’t even aware of yet.
