The mantis and the boar focused on clearing land, making it bigger in size by the minute.
They all were waiting for some new vipers to come toward them. It had been a few minutes since the pup had gone to get the next target.
There was not much to do but give the mantis some commands to cut the grass around. Theo was somewhat bored, to say the least; there wasn't much planning to do either.
"Young master, the pup is being chased by two vipers right now. It's been a minute since he has tried to lose them, but it's just not happening." Clara spoke with a sigh.
Theo looked at her and thought about it, two vipers, their level unknown. There wasn't much to think about in this situation. It should have been a plain no. But for some reason, not for Theo.
"How about you take care of one, and I'll take the latter?" Theo asked while showing a confident smile.
Clara waited for a few seconds and stared at Theo as if thinking about it.
"…I have no problem with it… But if it becomes dangerous, I will take care of both of them as quickly as I can." Clara stated, and Theo just nodded in understanding. It made sense.
Theo was excited and scared at the same time. He wanted to deal with a situation like this, but on the other hand, the mantis was still a bit weak against the beasts found in the forest.
After a few minutes, the rustling from the grass came from far away. The clearing had increased in size a lot, and the first sign of grass was about 20 steps away from all sides. The boar was very great at thrashing land; it seemed almost as if it enjoyed doing so too.
"Get ready," Clara spoke and went on guard in front of Theo, and he tried doing the same thing.
Soon, the pup came out as aloof and playful as always, but the next ones behind him came out as soon as possible too.

Theo made eye contact with Clara once and showed a two and three with hand gestures, making Clara nod with a smile.
"I am taking the right one, young master," she stated, and the boar started moving toward the snake. Theo wanted her to show new signs but decided to focus on the upcoming fight.
Both the snakes hissed at the upcoming boar, thinking that it was the only opponent they had to take care of.
Before Theo could give a command to the mantis, it had already started traveling toward the snakes with its camouflage. If Theo had not seen it move toward them from the start, he wouldn't have been able to see it again for a while; its camouflage was that strong.

The boar made a loud roar of squeaking and ran toward the vipers with speed, who were ready to pounce at it any time too. There seemed to be some hesitation in their movement, as if they knew it was going to be a difficult fight. But being two against one seemed to give them confidence.
The boar was inches from the snake, and the size difference was so large that Theo had some problems looking at the vipers.
When the boar stopped moving, it moved its head toward the group after stepping back, making Theo freeze in shock.
Both the vipers had bitten the side of its neck, as if seeing that as a weak spot.
Theo looked toward Clara, who had a relaxed smile on her face. Theo felt like she was not understanding the situation, but the next second, the boar just made a battle roar and kept its left hoof on the viper's body that was halfway on the ground, piercing it as if it was a cake.
One of them was gone already, and Theo realized that it might do the same with the other one.

Theo was confused, "Kill?" he muttered and looked at the vipers again, only to see that the alive one on the right had a deep cut on its neck now. It was sliding to the right, and it seemed like the body was going to detach from its skull anytime now.
"Your mantis is quite a competitive one, young master," Clara spoke with a giggle, and Theo chuckled.
The boar started moving back with the bodies of the two vipers still on its neck.
Theo saw the mantis hanging by the dead viper on the right side of the neck and burst out laughing. No matter what happened, food seemed to be the most important for the little glutton.

Inside the dense forest, there were two humans running toward a certain location with panic.
"I can't believe you let it escape!" The guy on the right roared while running. There was an ape-like big beast running beside him with the same speed, if not faster.
"My apologies, master!" The guy on the right wore the same colored clothes as Clara, only, there were silver platings at all the vitals of the leather armor.
The forest around them was denser and felt more dangerous than the outskirts.
"We better get to that fucker before it reaches the outskirts. Can't believe the damage it will do because of us."
The towering running man was none other than Lucien, the second heir of the Merricks, his teeth were gritted tight as if he was frustrated.
The man beside him was none other than his attendant, who himself had a leopard-like beast moving alongside him.
Both of them were moving to a certain location, and as if fate was testing waters, it was none other than the viper territory.

"What was that?" Theo asked as he moved his body toward the east, the trees and grass were dense so it was hard to find whatever it was.
