Chapter 621: Chapter 621 - What’s Next? (Part 3)

As for the other men accompanying me, they found their own preferred seats around the coffee table in the middle of the drawing room. They were not too near me, making sure not to evade my and anybody’s personal space but still near enough to hear the discussions between me and my in-laws and even join any conversations if they feel the need to.

Once we are all seated comfortably, I immediately pulled the focus of everybody in the room to the reason for my sudden visit today. I politely asked, "I would kindly need your assistance to set up my family register properly. I thought you that the palace has the best people for this job since I would like all its details to be kept confidential and under an information lock temporarily. As to why temporarily, I would only like to keep it hidden until the day I graduate from the academe. I don’t want to attract unwanted attention while I am confined within the academe walls."

My in-laws listened intently to my request and as expected, I did not see any second thoughts from them about helping me out. They did not make it complicated or difficult for me to complete what I came to the palace for. My mother-in-law quickly called one of her senior staff members who takes care of the family registry within the palace for royal and noble houses to assist me.

After a few minutes, I saw an elderly woman walking slowly towards me from the main door of the drawing room. From how she looks, she is definitely at least in her late 60s. She exudes confidence in completing the task given to her and she was also prepared as she came in with stacks of official documents in her arms, likely to make it easier for her to help me out.

I was too focused on the task I set for myself today that I belatedly realized that what I wish to do is pt confidential. I should have immediately told my in-laws that I want to do it in private and in a separate room with only the staff with me. Since my husbands have already what I came here for, I will not be able to leave the room anymore and it will also be impossible to kick them out.

I sighed and signal for the elderly woman to start the registration process with a smile on my face. The elderly woman smiled back and gave me a reassuring nod. She took one piece of paper from the stack she was carrying earlier together with a feather pen and ink bottle. She then looked at me and spoke softly, "Let’s start, your highness."

At first, only my personal details was being asked like my name, age, chosen family crest and preferred family name for the household so I did not feel any difficulty in sharing such information. Eventually, the questions became even more personal and specific such as which husband do I want to set as the main husband. I told them that I am yet to decide as to who would take the role and luckily, I was allowed to keep it blank.

Finally, the staff asked me for the name of the first husband that I want to include in my family registry. My thoughts were "So this is it, huh?"

I suddenly just stared at the staff. I stopped speaking as if I did not want to answer the question. There was pin drop silence in the room as I looked around and that is when I realized that several people in the room which included my five husbands, my parents-in-law and all the staff in the room which numbered to fifteen are quietly listening in to what I was saying.

I would be lying if I said that it wasn’t awkward for me at all. I know that big matriarchal families are a normal thing in this world but still, this is the first time that the people from my palace and these five husbands of mine will find out just how big was the family I have established. Others take years before gaining several spouses and even a longer time for children to be born in the family but my case was different. I have done both and that is in just less than two years since I have arrived in this world.

The elderly lady was quietly staring at me, just patiently waiting for me to give the name of my first husband and children if there were any. I smiled helplessly since I feel like I will receive even more pressure to have children from these five eavesdropping men around me once they found out about the truth. Sure, they have seen Ioannis pregnant and even Dimitri too but they did not know the names or how many children were created from my union with them.

I coughed to clear my throat and said, "I just want to be clear that the family registry I will be creating under the Athanoviya empire will only include my human husbands and any children that were born between us. As for the complete one, I will have it back in my hometown which will include both human and mystique husbands and all the children."

My declaration earned me stares of confusion from the people around me. Aurum couldn’t help making a comment and ask, "We know you are a mystique and we understand that you do not want everybody to know about it. The human husbands are the only ones registered in the human realm so that much is given too. Why are you looking all nervous and unsure on how to proceed? Just answer the questions so you can finish what you came here for."

I chuckled a bit at his response and his facial expression that say that there is nothing that I can say that will bother him in the slightest. I don’t know how long he can keep his calm once I started dictating the information for the family registry.
