God of Pets-Chapter 407: Netherworld Urn
Everyone was looking at this mysterious person; the Sun God Fist is a renowned composite skill.
The founder of this fist technique once vied for the world with the Ten Celestial Kings. Although he never achieved the position of a Celestial King, the achievements left by the Sun God Fist were still glorious.
No one has been able to perfectly replicate the secret skills that constitute the Sun God Fist.
Some scholars who have studied the Sun God Fist have developed many secret skills similar to it, but the effects can only be called similar and cannot reach the terrifying effect of the Sun God Fist that could melt gold and iron in the past.
The secret skill used by this person, whether it’s truly the Sun God Fist is unknown, but this destructive power undeniably shows some of the Sun God Fist’s might.
"Do we need to continue?" Hu Quan said, controlling his voice.
"No need, you’ve passed." The Yin Woman General’s yin energy surged, transforming into cold air, reducing the temperature of the armor’s red-hot parts. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"Does anyone else wish to challenge?" The Yin Woman General glanced around again and, confirming that there were no more challengers, led five people to the entrance of the Emperor’s Tomb.
Chen Guan, Xiu Jie Ming, and Yang Huai were all scrutinizing this uninvited guest, guessing his true origins.
Those who can enter the Beimang Mountain Secret Realm inevitably have some connection with the Celestial Court Army, but this person could not possibly be a soldier of the Celestial Court Army.
People who have been trained by the Celestial Court Army and served as soldiers have certain qualities and habitual gestures that differ from ordinary people; this person entirely lacks the military aura.
While deliberate disguise is possible, the three were more inclined to believe this person was not a soldier.
When Hu Quan’s gaze swept over Chen Guan, Chen Guan already knew this was the person who had been tracking him along the way.
Chen Guan thought to himself, "The only people who could run here to stalk and monitor me, besides Wang Lian’s family, would be from the Inspectorate. And how could it be such a coincidence that right after the Inspectorate found Xiu Jie Ming, someone followed? Nine out of ten chances, this person is from the Inspectorate."
Xiu Jie Ming had the same suspicion; he had also never met Hu Quan. When Hu Quan went to the Xiu Family, it wasn’t Xiu Jie Ming who received him, as Xiu Jie Ming was not at home at the time.
Although they had their suspicions, none of them voiced it out.
The five followed the Yin Woman General towards the giant tomb like a mountain, where there was no stele in front of the tomb, only a portal, with the words "Netherworld" engraved above the portal.
The Yin Woman General pushed open the stone door, and a cold, damp air rushed out, striking them with a chill.
After Chen Guan followed her inside, he surveyed his surroundings, finding an arched tunnel built with green bricks, very moist, with many places covered in moss, some even dripping water.
After walking not far, they reached the end of the passage, where a grand hall appeared before them; inside, there were no deities, just a large green-tiled jar over a meter high at the center.
The jar was filled with clear water, the surface almost level with the rim, nearly overflowing.
Chen Guan glanced at the jar, then looked up at the palace ceiling, a wooden structure, with nothing more than darkened wooden beams.
Chen Guan’s expression was peculiar because, on the water’s surface, there was a reflection of a crescent moon.
Yet, there was clearly only a roof above, so from where did this moon reflection come?
Yang Huai and the others also noticed this issue and stared at the jar.
The water in the jar seemed as clear as glass, yet mysteriously difficult to see what lay within, only able to glimpse the reflection on the surface.
"Inside, there are various belongings of mighty emperors; you may each try to retrieve something, but what you manage to get depends on your fortune. Everyone has only one chance and can only take one item; if greed ensues, you’ll suffer the consequences," the Yin Woman General said, standing by the jar.
No one acted. Yang Huai and Xiu Jie Ming exchanged glances and then said, "We don’t know how to fish it out; could you kindly demonstrate?"
"Do you believe that the soul enters the Netherworld after one dies?" the Yin Woman General said flatly.
None of them responded; cultivators seek immortality, which pertains to this life.
If they believed in souls and an afterlife, what need would there be for cultivation; they might as well lie down and wait for the next life.
As cultivators, they naturally do not believe in the existence of a Netherworld.
Even if there were a Netherworld, it would be nothing more than a Secret Realm or Grotto Heaven.
Silence itself is an answer. The Yin Woman General continued, "Whether you believe it or not, the Netherworld does exist; it is the resting place for the departed, the final abode for souls."
The Yin Woman General pointed to the jar’s inside, "This connects to the Netherworld, the realm governed by my master, the Netherworld Emperor. You are living beings who cannot enter the Netherworld, so if you want the Emperor’s possessions, you can only fish them out. If you have enough fate, you will naturally gain something; if not, you will get nothing."
As she spoke, the Yin Woman General dipped her hand into the clear water.
A bizarre scene unfolded; her hand remained visible above the water, but the submerged portion seemed to vanish.
The Yin Woman General rolled up her sleeve, submerging her forearm entirely, sweeping her hand through the water a few times, then withdrew her hand.
Her submerged arm and hand emerged intact, holding something newly acquired.
Everyone’s eyes were fixed on the item in her palm, which turned out to be a brush, its tip even moistened with ink.
"Luck is quite good," the Yin Woman General said, walking to the wall, drawing a few strokes with the brush.
Before their eyes, a lively rabbit appeared on the wall.
Chen Guan and the others suddenly widened their eyes in amazement as the rabbit sprang to life and hopped off the wall, bounding away.
The Yin Woman General caught its ear, lifted it, and placed it in her arms, where the little white rabbit settled down, calmly lying obediently.
"What a creation divine artifact!" Chen Guan was stunned.
Yang Huai and the others were equally wide-eyed, wearing expressions of disbelief.
"Your fortunes lie here; whatever you draw is up to your destiny." The Yin Woman General tossed the brush back into the water.
The water rippled and soon calmed, the reflection of the moon on the surface undisturbed.
Thoughts of shock and awe surged in their hearts. Regardless of what this water links to, the magic of that brush had undeniably astonished them.
The rabbit now nestled in the Yin Woman General’s arms, evidence of that incredible creation magic.
"What level of Secret Treasure is that brush?" Yang Huai asked.
"It’s not a Secret Treasure, merely a pen the Emperor used for annotations," the Yin Woman General replied indifferently.
