Obtaining Legendray Dragon Template At The Start As A Side-Character!-Chapter 51: The Battle Of Geniuses
The forest was shaking under the sound of wood hitting wood and angry shouts. The soft soil under their feet had been torn apart. Crushed leaves were spinning in the air, and the smell of sweat and freshly broken wood filled the space.
The members of the other three groups were still fighting against Reinh’s commanders. In fact, with just one look it was clear that their group was completely suppressed and had no real chance to continue.
Until now, three out of the five commanders had been defeated and badly injured. They could no longer continue fighting.
Among them, many group members had also fainted and no longer had the strength to stand up. The defensive line had collapsed, and there was no hope left for their victory.
"Did we... lose?" Selen whispered in disbelief.
Anger from Julian’s betrayal, anger at her own weakness, and frustration that they had no backup plan were burning inside her.
She knew they no longer had a chance and would lose this phase. Even though it did not mean the end of her future, losing like this cracked her pride.
At the center of the battlefield, the situation had completely changed.
Reinh’s gaze focused on the three people surrounding him. His eyes still looked cold and emotionless, as if he did not care at all about the current situation.
Zane stood in front of the others. His body was full of scratches, but his eyes were shining. He held his wooden sword with both hands, lowered his shoulders, and bent forward like a beast ready to jump.
On his left stood Lucien. Unlike Zane, he looked calm and calculating. He held his sword loosely, but his eyes were constantly checking angles — the distance between trees, the uneven ground, the position of the sunlight.
A few steps behind them stood Diana. She held her thin sword down and had not entered the fight yet. Her cold and steady gaze was locked on Reinh. She believed there was no need for her to interfere.
"If you accept defeat right now and hand over the bracelet, you can leave this place without more injuries," Lucien said with a mocking tone.
"The bracelet is not with me," Reinh replied calmly.
"Stop lying. You are the leader of this group, so the bracelet must be with you. If you do not give it, we will take it by force," Zane said harshly.
"By force? Can you?" Reinh answered with a cold and mocking tone.
After hearing that, Zane attacked without warning.
He jumped forward explosively and brought his sword down from above. His strike was fast and violent.
Reinh slid half a step to the side, deflected the strike with the edge of his sword, and at the same time twisted his wrist and hit Zane’s side with the end of his sword.
A dull sound was heard. Zane stepped back several steps but did not fall. He showed a wild smile and attacked again, this time with three fast strikes from different angles.
At the same moment, Lucien joined.
He did not attack directly. First, he moved to the right, forcing Reinh to turn between two directions.
Then suddenly he stepped on a hidden root and pretended to lose balance.
Reinh did not even change his expression.
Just when Lucien changed from "falling" to a real jump and swung his sword toward the back of Reinh’s knee, Reinh pulled his leg back without even looking and struck upward quickly, sending Lucien’s wooden sword flying into the air.
Lucien’s sword landed several meters away.
Lucien’s eyes widened for a moment. Zane shouted and attacked again from the front, trying to use the opportunity.
But Reinh had now fully entered his rhythm.
He blocked Zane’s strike with heavy force, so strong that Zane’s arm shook. Then he stepped forward, closed the distance, and hit Zane’s chest with his elbow. Before Zane could breathe, Reinh struck his shoulder and threw him backward.
Lucien picked up a second sword from one of the fallen members and became serious. There was no more simple trick.
He realized that their opponent had more ability than he expected.
Simple tricks would not only fail but also harm them.
He moved with short and fast steps, delivering quick and precise strikes toward Reinh’s wrist and knee to limit his movement.
A few strikes made light contact, but each time Reinh either deflected them or avoided them with very small movement.
Suddenly Reinh stepped forward. There was no showy move. Only his speed increased.
His wooden sword hit Lucien’s side precisely. Before Lucien could react, the second strike hit his thigh and the third hit his shoulder. Lucien dropped to one knee.
His eyes turned red from pain. Even though it was only a wooden sword, the power behind Reinh’s strikes was brutal. Lucien felt like his bones had cracked.
Zane stood up again and shouted with all his strength. He attacked with a full vertical strike, putting all his power into it. Even the ground under his feet cracked.
Reinh stood straight and took the strike from the front.
The sound of the two wooden swords colliding echoed in the forest. Both of their arms trembled, but the difference was clear. Zane’s power stopped.
For the first time, hesitation appeared in Zane’s eyes.
Reinh twisted his sword, pushed Zane’s blade aside, and struck directly into his stomach, sending him flying backward. Zane rolled on the ground and stopped several meters away.
A short silence fell among the trees.
Lucien was breathing heavily. Zane tried to stand again. Neither of them had managed to gain even a small advantage.
Even though both of them were considered the top geniuses of the young generation of the Clan, they could not gain any advantage against the well-known bastard.
"Diana! If you don’t help now, all three of us will be eliminated!" Lucien shouted through clenched teeth.
Diana had only been watching until now. She bit her lower lip slightly.
She knew Reinh was strong. But not to this level. Not to the point where he could stop Zane like this and knock Lucien down so easily.
For the first time, a thought crossed her mind that maybe... even she could not defeat him alone.
She took a deep breath. This was not the time to be proud.
She raised her thin sword.
She stepped forward and entered the battlefield.
With her joining, the pressure suddenly changed. This time, the three moved from three different angles. Zane from the front with raw power, Lucien from the right with tricky movements, and Diana from the left with fast and precise strikes.
Diana’s sword was lighter and faster. Her strikes were short but very accurate. A few times she managed to cut Reinh’s clothes and even leave a light wound on his arm.
"Three ants cannot defeat a dragon."
But the advantage was still with Reinh.
He read their movements. Before Zane could put full force into his strike, Reinh changed its direction. Before Lucien could execute a new trick, Reinh changed his footing. He deflected Diana’s strikes with the minimum contact needed.
Three people, yet they were still being pushed back.
They stepped back a few steps to create distance.
One thing was common in their eyes.
This boy... was a monster.
Reinh stood calmly. His breathing was a little heavier now, but his eyes were still steady and cold.
The forest around them was filled with the sounds of other battles, but the center of the field had become focused on one point.
Four people. And only one of them held complete dominance.
"Now I have an offer for you," Reinh’s cold and lifeless voice echoed in their ears. "Surrender, and you can leave this place alive."
