Dig Up the Sun Emperor's Legacy: I Build an Invincible Undead Legion-Chapter 163: All for Justice!
On the main road from the Desolate Desert to Rock Sand City, a red blur was racing forward.
Looking closer, it was actually a pack of red skeletons—moving so fast they left afterimages in their wake.
Carlos sat in the bronze palanquin, watching the roadside scenery streak past.
He calculated the timing in his head:
"By now, sister should’ve gotten the letter."
The moment he left the Desolate Desert, Carlos’s first move was to fire off a letter to his sister.
The gist of it was that he’d discovered the Golden Sand Society was in cahoots with the Black Poison Faction in the Desolate Desert.
The situation was bad news. He was heading to Rock Sand City first to check things out, and he needed sister to hustle over and provide ’backup’!
"In my memory, the future Black Poison Faction will rat out the Golden Sand Society, and then that very same day, the entire Golden Sand Society gets wiped out with nobody escaping.
At first glance, nothing fishy about that—Rock Sand City’s brass handled it quick and dirty.
But the problem is whether they handled it too quick.
From tip-off to total destruction, we’re probably talking just a few hours difference.
This doesn’t match how the leadership usually handles these kinds of nasty reported incidents.
And generally for something this rotten, they’d definitely keep some alive for the worst punishment possible as a warning to everyone else."
Carlos mulled it over and always felt something was seriously off here.
Of course, maybe he was just paranoid.
But just in case, Carlos decided to call in his sister as backup.
Carlos thought of something and let out a quiet sigh:
"Man, human nastiness really knows no bounds."
He braced for the worst.

Ember City, Valois Family Estate
Iris, enjoying a rare day off, was putting the twins through combat training.
Riley and Anna were each tangling with a shadow panther, caught up in tough fights.
Iris took a delicate sip of her black tea:
"Movement needs to be lightning-fast, eyes sharp as a hawk.
If one strike doesn’t connect, get out of there immediately.
Don’t get bogged down!
Oh, and their weak spot is smack dab in the center of their foreheads."
"Riley (Anna) got it!" × 2
Riley and Anna immediately leaped nimbly, dodging the shadow panther’s claw swipes.
The instant they sailed past, the shadow blades in their hands shot out:
"Slash!"
Straight through the shadow panther’s forehead!
Crimson beast blood gushed out, splattering both girls.
"Hooray! Riley (Anna) did it!" × 2
Seeing the panther carcass hit the dirt, the twins beamed with joy.
Black and white pupils met each other’s gaze:
"So exciting! Sister!"
"So exciting! Little sister!"
Beast blood dripped from their small faces and chins. The shadow blades in their hands both flickered with an almost invisible black light.
"Hmm?
Did the shadows get lighter?"
Iris thought she might be seeing things.
Looking again, the shadows of the two shadow panther corpses had actually gotten lighter?
"What kind of ability is that?"
Just then, a servant walked over respectfully, holding a parchment envelope with both hands.
"A letter from the young master."
"What, a letter from Carlos!"
Iris snatched it immediately, first checking the seal on the envelope—yep, definitely her brother’s.
"Five months—is Carlos finally coming home?"
The twins crept closer. They’d just heard this was big brother’s letter!
"Is big brother coming home?"
Even though they had big sister, big brother was still crucial.
Iris impatiently ripped open the envelope and read the parchment letter inside...
[My dearest sister,
By the time you get this letter, I’ve already left the Desolate Desert and I’m on my way to Rock Sand City.]
’Rock Sand City? Not coming home—what’s he up to there?’
Iris was ticked off. Didn’t he know his sister had been worried sick after he’d been gone so long?
[Let me fill you in on what I accomplished during this trip.
First off, through a bunch of battles in the Desolate Desert, my Spirit jumped up to 19!]
’What! In such a short time, it’s already up to 19!!!’
Iris was floored. Her brother had awakened less than a year ago—what crazy improvement speed!
[Oh yeah, the skeleton sword guards evolved again, and I picked up two special retainers.]
’Those incredible skeleton soldiers evolved again?
Is it really that easy?
What are retainers?
New summons?’
[Sister, I feel incredibly powerful now! Ridiculously strong!
Below Controller level, no person... no, no creature can touch me!]
Iris sighed:
’Carlos has finally... finally hit that cocky teenage phase.’
[I’m not being cocky! I’m dead serious!]
Iris nodded:
’Sister believes you!’
[I knew sister wouldn’t buy it.
When sister gets to Rock Sand City, you’ll see for yourself.]
’Rock Sand City?
Why would I go to Rock Sand City?
Hold on, what are you doing in Rock Sand City?’
Iris frantically read on:
[During my time in the Desolate Desert, I stumbled onto some news:
Rock Sand City’s Golden Sand Society actually has the gall to work with the Black Poison Faction, running all sorts of twisted experiments...]
"Damn it all!"
Human scum like that actually exists in Rock Sand City!
Fury blazed in Iris’s heart, and terrifying energy erupted.
The air turned thick as molasses.
The twins beside her shook like leaves:
"Sister!"
"Little sister!"
They could feel big sister was mad, really mad!!!
[To crush this evil scheme!]
[To keep Sacred Fire burning forever!]
[I, Carlos Valois, have decided to personally wipe out the Golden Sand Society cancer and destroy the Black Poison Faction!]
[All for justice!]
"Carlos!!!
Is this really something you should be sticking your nose into?!"
Iris was stunned. She never expected her brother to be so reckless.
He was barely old enough, yet he had the nerve to go alone to some strange city to take on evil organizations!
This was real life, not some fairy tale!!!
As Iris’s emotions went haywire, her aura became even more terrifying. The sky darkened, and the twins huddled in the corner, clinging to each other:
"So scary!!!" × 2
Iris’s hands started shaking with worry.
Carlos had been such a careful, level-headed kid since he was little—how did he suddenly turn so rash!
Her first instinct was to drag Carlos back home.
But the letter wasn’t done. At the bottom was a line of tiny text:
[Sister, don’t even think about dragging me back.
By the time you catch up to me, I’ll definitely already be at Rock Sand City!]
"What a little brat!"
Iris’s knuckles cracked as she clenched her fists.
[Just in case there are sticky situations I can’t handle,
(Controllers might butt in)
I’m hoping sister can come to Rock Sand City and give me a hand!]
"Sticky situations!!!
You know there might be sticky situations!!!"
"BOOM!"
Without missing a beat, Iris grabbed the parchment and bolted out the door...
[Your loving brother, Carlos.]
