Chapter 806: Chapter 806: Sleep—We Have to Wake Up Early Tomorrow

"Maybe you haven’t even realized the changes happening within you."

"Once you started gathering magic power more efficiently—subconsciously minimizing waste—you began reducing the cost of your Magic without even noticing."

Ais instinctively looked at her hand and gathered magic power there. The result appeared instantly.

"It’s much less than before."

She automatically used the magic-saving method she’d grown used to. The amount of magic power she gathered had dropped significantly, yet the feeling it gave her was stronger than when she’d gathered it with full force in the past.

"The output is even stronger!"

This realization delighted her.

Watching her react in such unexpected surprise, Bell understood immediately—Ais had never noticed any of this.

Her body adapted far faster than her mind ever did.

"Under the harsh conditions, you learned that gathering magic power was essential just to stay alive. You got used to moving with reduced magic reserves, so now you instinctively conserve magic power—even subconsciously."

After observing her for some time, Bell confirmed that Ais truly operated entirely on instinct.

This made her training even more important.

Not training her intellect, but sharpening her physical instincts.

"Your subconscious reflexes allow you to control magic power more precisely and avoid unnecessary waste. And because that magic power was tempered in harsh conditions, it’s far more cohesive than before. Even a small amount can unleash greater strength."

"I honestly wondered how you failed to notice such an obvious change."

"When you fought the dragonkin earlier, I told you that Magic would lose eighty percent of its force against their scales. Yet your blade still pierced them. That alone should have been enough to clue you in."

If it were Bell himself, he would have caught on the moment something felt off.

From the beginning, Bell had always lived with a strong sense of urgency.

A fear of magic depletion.

To avoid running out of magic power, he constantly trained his reserves. Even without the influence of concepts, he naturally kept his magic consumption extremely low.

From the moment he became aware of magic management, Bell monitored his daily expenditure and recovery with precision.

Every time his magic power increased, he would deliberately drain it completely in combat, forcing himself to grow accustomed to the mental exhaustion that followed.

After experiencing that drained state again and again, he engraved that feeling into his mind.

Because of that urgency, Bell had never once fully exhausted his magic power outside of training.

He lived by a single principle:

Always keep a fallback.

Because Bell held so many anxieties and phobias, he instinctively conserved both stamina and magic power.

In battle, he always left himself room to maneuver.

In training, he always kept himself safe.

These fears became the purest driving force behind him, constantly pushing him forward.

You could say that ninety percent of Bell’s current strength came from that mindset.

And since Bell himself was a cautious person who constantly conserved energy, it was natural that he taught Ais along the same lines.

"So, Ais, even with ’Avenger’ sealed, your current strength already surpasses the dragonkin."

"None of your training has been wasted. Your growth comes from these steady, incremental improvements."

"Now lift your head and be proud. This power is yours, earned through your own efforts."

Ais did exactly that.

Holding her head high and straightening her back, she accepted the praise with a confident, unhesitating smile.

This honesty—this complete lack of pretense—was something Bell greatly appreciated about her.

"After confidence..."

"...comes putting that confidence away, and staying alert to the dangers around you."

"Right."

Hearing Ais finish his sentence, Bell smiled with satisfaction.

Ais was still walking the path he’d set for her. Her daily life still lagged behind what it once was, but in combat she no longer fell short of anyone.

"In the Dungeon, never place too much trust in your own strength. More important than strength is trusting your own caution."

"Dungeon monsters are treacherous and cunning. They’re good at concealing themselves and lying in wait. In special environments, the creatures that hide there are like venomous serpents."

"Don’t let overconfidence make you their prey."

"Yes!"

Ais committed every word to memory.

"Good."

Bell was genuinely pleased with how much she had improved.

"You’ve already slain all the dragonkin on this floor. Rest for the remainder of the day."

"You’ll need time to adjust to your current state."

"Tomorrow we’ll head to the next floor for further training. Tonight, I’ll temporarily isolate the ’Avenger’ Skill."

She wouldn’t need that Skill for training—only ’Challenger.’

Bell would soon begin teaching her advanced methods of magic usage, techniques that didn’t require Skill assistance.

Compared to Skills, having her body fully adapt and build muscle memory suited Ais far better. That would be tomorrow’s work. Today’s work was done.

"Rest now."

"Yes."

Ais immediately lay down on Sickbed 0.2. After pulling a thin blanket over herself, her breathing quickly evened out.

In a place like this, restful sleep was crucial. Without it, the next day’s training would inevitably suffer.

She had even relearned how to sleep properly.

Bell lay down on the bed opposite hers.

In an environment like this, one couldn’t be picky. They didn’t undress, and both were covered by thin blankets, so it wasn’t much of an issue.

Bell and Ais slipped into sleep almost simultaneously. He too needed to recover his stamina and mental strength, and sleep was the best way to do so.

Before long, the frozen sanctuary echoed only with the quiet, steady breathing of Bell and Ais.
