Chapter 211: Mia Sutton Used the Wrong Shampoo (2-in-1)

In the evening, Mia Sutton accompanied Giselle Summers in the living room to watch a movie, and by the time it finished, it was already nine o’clock.

Giselle Summers said, "Alright, it’s already late, no need to keep me company. Go take care of your own things; I need to sleep now. I’m getting older and can’t stay up like I used to."

After speaking, she stood up from the sofa and headed toward her room. Giselle Summers stayed in another guest room next to the room Mia used to stay in.

Once Giselle Summers went inside and closed the door, Mia Sutton collapsed onto the sofa without concern for appearances. After lying there for a while, her eyes fixed on Jensen Sterling’s room over there. Although... she had never experienced sleeping in the same room with someone else, she pondered for a bit with her head tilted and thought she could probably accept it.

After pondering, her gaze fell on the study room on the other side, still brightly lit. Jensen was supposed to join them in watching the movie, but he received a call in the middle and seemed to have something to deal with, so he went to the study. It had been over two hours already, and who knows when he’d finish up.

Mia’s chin was buried in the pillow as she roughly recalled the typical time Jensen spends handling things. Though they weren’t in the same room, Mia’s room was not far away; plus, she’s a night owl herself and sleeps very late every night. Therefore, each time Jensen finished and returned from the study to the bedroom, she generally knew. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Previously, he almost always returned to the bedroom after eleven o’clock, and even at midnight or one a.m., it happened. So, it’s only a little after nine now, he definitely won’t be back yet, right?

After coming to this understanding, Mia swiftly sat up from the sofa, realizing it was the perfect time for her to go shower.

If she managed to go to bed a bit earlier tonight, maybe by the time Jensen came back, she’d already be in a sweet slumber. It’d be absolutely perfect.

Although she wasn’t particularly afraid of sharing a bed with someone else, she still needed an adaptation period, didn’t she? Let her get used to it tonight, and it’ll be fine afterward.

Having concluded her thoughts, Mia quickly went to her room, grabbed her clothes, and headed to the bathroom.

Upon entering the bathroom, the first thing she noticed was the additional skincare products on the shelf. They were hers, placed alongside Jensen’s, and her toothbrush and cup were positioned on the washstand; the two looked identical in style but differed in color.

Almost everything had become paired; Mia looked at those items, her fingers holding things unknowingly curled slightly.

...

In the bathroom, the showerhead was already on, water streaming down briskly, the steam from the hot water rendering the bathroom misty. The girl’s well-shaped figure appeared indistinctly in the steam, showing no excess flesh.

The armor lines on her abdomen were equally visible, and droplets trickled down her graceful swan-like neck, rolling further when she slightly craned her head, making her jawline ever more pronounced.

With a slender figure, skin as white as snow, yet perhaps due to the copious steam in the bathroom, faint blushes started adorning her originally pale skin, giving it a rosy tint, seeming tender enough to pinch water out.

Mia didn’t forget this was Jensen Sterling’s room, hence her showering actions were slightly faster than usual.

As the shower water splashed down, the water droplets were somewhat large, making her eyes squint slightly; she raised her hand to turn off the shower and lightly wiped the water beads from her face.

Keeping her eyes shut, water droplets continued dripping from her hair as she reached out, following her memory to locate the shampoo.

Only then did she peel open her eyes a slit, glanced at the text below, seeing that it was shampoo before dispensing some onto her hand and applying it to her hair.

After lathering and rubbing her hair a few times, her fingers suddenly paused amidst the strands... This shampoo’s scent, why did it differ from what she previously used?

Then, opening her eyes, she looked to the side, the shampoo she squeezed earlier placed there, with a glaring male brand logo on it.

Mia: "..." Blinked her eyes twice laboriously; did she take the wrong one?

Then she spotted her shampoo sitting right there beside it.

A few seconds later, Mia accepted that she had indeed taken the wrong shampoo. Since it was already applied to her hair, what else could she do but wash it off?

When she reached for the shower gel, Mia carefully checked, ensuring she didn’t make the same mistake.

...

After Giselle Summers checked on him in the study twice, Jensen Sterling finally shut down the computer and returned to the bedroom.

The first sight upon entering was a red t-shirt carelessly tossed onto the bed, laying atop the gray-toned bedding.

One somber, one vibrant, these two distinct colors at this moment created a striking contrast, seeming awkward but somehow harmonious.

The casually placed clothes imparting a sense of vitality to his room, which typically showed no sign of disorder.

It’s as if a soft, endearing creature intruded upon a lion’s territory, entirely unfazed, placing its belongings casually within the lion’s domain.

Jensen walked over to the bed and sat down; he could hear the water sounds from the bathroom, echoing repeatedly, each striking his heart.

Before long, Jensen slightly furrowed his brows, wondering if tonight’s temperatures were too high. He unbuttoned one of his collar buttons while reaching for the remote, adjusting the air conditioning.

His deep-set eyes paused momentarily, then leaned against the bed, casually scrolling through his phone.

After a few minutes, seeming to have surrendered, he turned off his phone screen and placed it on the bedside table, then tilted his head back, resting against the headboard, rubbing the bridge of his nose as he slowly closed his eyes.

Yet upon closing his eyes, without the distraction of sight, the water sounds from the bathroom grew even more prominent, even forming hazy mental images.

Mia was unaware that Jensen Sterling had returned to the room outside; she showered, put on pajamas, and grabbed a towel to dry her hair, her long hair cascading down one side of her chest. The scent of the shampoo permeated her nostrils faintly, a fragrance entirely different from the one before.

Mia pursed her lips, carelessly towel-drying, the mirror beside reflecting the girl’s current appearance, eyes cast down with sporadic sniffing, her ears and neck carrying a gentle blush. It was unknown if the bathroom was overly hot or if there was some other reason.
