Fantasy Football-Chapter 43: Agege RR Vs Dark Elites 2.
Around the tenth minute, the Agege RR’s first real chance arrived, and it started from the back, as they’d been trying to push the ball forward for a quick opener since kickoff, but even though the Dark Elitez were new to the tournament, they still refused to give Agege RR that satisfaction; they tracked back like a mature side, making smart off-ball movements just to keep the Agege RR away from the danger zone.
This defensive move of theirs forced the Agege RR to keep recycling possession back to their defence to build again, because the Dark Elitez were proving hard to break.
This time, however, the supporting striker, Sola, dropped deep right into the back line, while demanding for the ball after realising the current pattern of his team wasn’t working.
And the moment the ball rolled into his feet Mystic activated his abilities, with his irises switched to a light blue as his ability kicked in, with different probabilities sequences flashing before him though as of the moment no important one has popped up yet, and the ones he was seeing were useful probabilities but he was sure the important ones would be forming soon.
Without wasting a second more, Sola took a deft touch with the back of his right foot, then spun to face the ball, he had done everything in one smooth motion: drop deep, signal for the ball, receive it while facing his own keeper, nudge it on with his right heel, and then proceed to turn into space.
While turning, he swiftly looked around as he scanned the entire field ahead of him, apart from the defensive midfielder, the defenders, and the goalkeeper, the rest of Agege RR had already pushed into the Dark Elitez’ half the moment they saw him taking matters into his own hands, practically they all seems to be waiting for Sola to launch long.
That aggressive change of tactics from the Agege RR made Tasty, Mojo, and Buchi drop a few steps back hoping to help the rest of their team to defend if worse comes, as they were all wary of any lethal release, Sola could make.
Seeing the way they gave him space made Sola grow bolder as he decided to drive the ball forward instead of making that long pass many were expecting, as he began accelerating with the ball c;osley glued to his feet.
Tasty seeing this stepped up to close him down, and then the embarrassing moment came, Sola picked his angle timely and slid the ball through the gap between his legs, not a powerful pass, but precise enough to nutmeg him and find Femi, the Agege RR attacking midfielder that drop back a little when he realized that Sola had decided to run with the ball instead, it was almost like he could tell that Sola would be needing him.
The moment the ball reached his feet, he looped it forward into the Dark Elites’ half where their striker was just waiting, and Lukman, their striker, chested it down while trying to body-check Lambert.
Vingz who was always close to Lambert on the field saw this and decided to close in and steal the ball while both of them were still tussling, but before he arrived the Agege RR striker slipped the ball into space forward where Sola had already begun his dash towards.
Seeing the disguised pass, Vingz tried to change course, but Sola gave him no chance, as he nudged the ball forward with his left foot, leaving the still-recovering Jezzy Vingz in the dust and showcasing superior physicality with the way he had been pushing through their middle and he had done all this from the back.
Now driving straight at the Dark Elites’ defence, it felt like he was saying he could break them at will if he committed to it, and the Dark Elites’ midfield wouldn’t read him in time.
Seeing him come closer James stepped up to win the ball, but Sola zipped a sharp pass to the flank beside him and burst ahead of him; James was stunned for a second trying to react on whether to follow him or not, and then he saw another runner already moving into that lane the ball was directed at.
And it shows that Sola had read the pattern of Players movement without even looking back which dazzled James, but James still slid in for the tackle in a bid to get rid of the ball and the Attacking Midflieder; but Femi arrived first to the ball and immediately chipped it forward again before James could swoop him off, as he had completed quick one-twos with both Sola and Lukman in a short span of time.
As soon as Sola received the ball with his back to goal, Okududu jumped him; but Sola didn’t panic at all, as he spun, using Okududu’s weight on his right side to roll the ball with his left left leg all the while he was raising an arm up to keep the defender off him.
The moment he completed the turn the goal opened up before him, and he did the simplest and hungriest thing any ambitious player would have done, he shot straight at goal. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Though he was positioned more to the right, but he twisted his leg and struck it like a Trivela, trying to curl the ball beyond the reach of Kado Daniels, the Dark Elites’ keeper hands.
Bang!
He wasn’t a Bronze-rank player yet, but from that shot, and the way he toyed with the Dark Elites’ midfield, Mystic knew instantly that the match wouldn’t be an easy win.
Even though he’d helped his defenders evolve their talents and given them elixirs to help assimilate their new stats, the gap still remained, because as of now their levels were still lower, the back line’s average overall power rating was 21, and Sola alone had a power rating of 35.
To Mystic, the Dark Elites’ defenders looked a step slow and not strong enough to stop him.
Fortunately for them, they had a rock in goal, despite Kado’s shorter stature, and despite Sola trying to curl it out of his reach, Kado still timed himself before he launched off the ground, got airborne, and then palmed the ball away with his right hand and directing it toward Kofo(Ghana Boi) who was at right-back as that first threat was neutralised.
The match raged on with Sola being a constant menace, dropping deep and dismantling the Dark Elites’ midfield, however while all this was happening, Mystic studied their pattern of play closely and kept his team formation unchanged despite how much it seems they weren’t making an impact, fortunately for him his bet was paying off as Agege RR still hadn’t scored.
Because while Sola was hard to catch; Lukman, the Agege RR striker, was beaten several times by the Dark Elites’ defenders who now had a higher talent could read the game on a higher level, right now they were trying to make up for each other despite their lower physicality by double marking and Vingz dropping deep to cover for them.
However aside from Sola’s free-roaming threat, the only player consistently troubling them was Femi.
Basically, even Mystic—who had been watching closely, realised that no matter how good Sola was, all his plays involved Femi, who seemed to have a high football IQ and was dictating their moves.
Though Femi wasn’t a level 10 like Sola (which would normally prompt Mystic to pay in order to see his full status tab), but he had still earned Mystic’s full attention, and Mystic finally drew up a plan to restrain them both.
At first, when the match started, he’d only identified their weak links; now, after using his Zone Sense for over thirty minutes in different situations, he had been able to devise the best plan for his team to beat them, and he was ready to change things, as he called out to his players:
“LAMBERT! Make the guys create a break!” Mystic shouted, deactivating his ability, right away, his eyes felt sore, like he’d been staring at a screen for more than 24 hours.
He didn’t like the feeling, but it was one of the trade-offs he’d learned about his ability: seeing probabilities, then combining them with his game sense, let him craft plans, at a cost and now he was putting it to full use.

Mystic had quickly pulled up his system tab, wondering why he felt so drained, but the moment it appeared, he understood the reason for the soreness and mental fatigue, his Mana Energy was empty.
Using the system’s ability and performing skills like Inspect consumed mana, which is fuelled by the power of his mind, so when it ran dry, the weakness he now felt was inevitable.
