CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 138: The Day
It is the day that Uncle Trev is very much excited about. He had waited and longed for this day to happen since Henry turned twenty. Henry is the last heir of the Welsh for he has three daughters with no son. And yes even in this modern day, Trev still believes that the family’s wealth should go to the male offspring that carries their name.
That is one unspoken truth about why he wanted to give his 20% company share to Henry once he produce his own heir. Not that he doesn’t care about his own daughters, he already allotted huge sum of money and properties for them but he believes that their future husbands should be the ones to provide for his daughters.
Trev doesn’t care if Henry gets married in a church or not, with or without a ceremony or reception. The only thing he cares about is that he signs the marriage contract with the mother of his future grandchildren. That’s how desperate he is.
And now that it is going to happen soon, he will make sure that no one will dare stop the signing of the papers. Even though Henry has his own security team, Trev hired additional people to secure the place. There is no way that he will allow the 50% share of Welsh Holdings to go to someone else, or to disturb this wedding.
Everyone was exhausted from the preparation that they needed to finish last night for the anticipated wedding day. Mary was not able to do the bridal shower that she wanted for Amy but she doesn’t mind, since they were still able to enjoy what Anton’s mom prepared for them.
Instead of a party that Mary had originally planned where they will drink, dance, and have fun to their heart’s content, it was replaced by more pampering and relaxation activities.
After their massage in the morning, their night was filled with fresh and healthy food, mani-pedi, hair treatment, facials, and wine. It was not the usual bridal shower that everybody is expecting but they had so much fun.
That goes the same for the men. Since the ladies had their spa in the morning, the men had their turn in the evening. And thanks to Anton, for dragging Henry there. If it was not for him, Henry would still be hovering over the staff who were preparing the venue.
The evening was so relaxing and refreshing that everyone had a good sleep including the bride and groom. Until Amy woke up from the loud noise coming from the chatter of the people coming into their room to do her hair and make-up.
"I hope you had a good sleep madam," greeted the hair and make-up artist.
"I did, wait a minute, I know you!" Amy rubbed her eyes as she try to get a better look at the person.
"It is good to see you again. I was right, I knew you would stay. The master was really captivated by you. By the way, my name is Sherry."
"I should thank you, it was your work that made me beautiful that night that he couldn’t wait until we get to the party to kiss me," and they giggled in unison.
When everything was done, Mary helped Amy wear her wedding dress. And she couldn’t help but become teary-eyed as she look at her best friend in the mirror.
"I am sure Auntie and Uncle are very proud of you wherever they are. You are so beautiful, and to think that we all did this in a haste, you still turned out perfect. I am so happy you found Henry, babe," Mary said as she try hard not to shed tears.
"Let me correct you on that, it was him who found me. And please stop it best, you will make me cry too and it will ruin my make-up. I know Mom and Dad are happy for me even my brother. And they will be even happier once I pay off all our debts. Henry even promised to adopt Jayson and Jenna too. I am just so happy Mary, is this even real?"
"Of course it is! Do you want me to pinch you so hard that it will bleed just to prove to you that everything is real?"
"I am just worried that after all this happiness, something bad will happen. Just like what old people say that too much happiness always overflowed into tears and sorrow," Amy uttered as she look back at Mary in the mirror.
"Don’t think of silly things like that. It is a happy occasion so forget about negativities for today, okay?"
Amy nodded and Mary helped her put on the pieces of jewelry that Henry bought just for this day that will match her dress.
While the bride is busy with the last few details that she needed for the wedding, the groom is already walking towards the wedding ceremony area. The wedding ceremony will take place in the highest part of the farm.
It is a small hill with a flat top that was intentionally created for events like this. At the end of the flat surface is a rustic wooden arch with white tulle and flowers wrap around it. The aisle is covered in khaki burlap linen with white flower petals scattered all over it.
On the sides of the aisle are brown cross-back chairs good for thirty people to sit on. Every row of chairs has two feet wooden log beside it with flowers around the foot of it. On top of the logs are glass vases that have lit scented candles filling the air with lavender and rose scents.
Henry took his spot at the very end of the aisle near the rustic wedding arch. He is wearing an ivory 3-piece wedding tuxedo with a black bowtie. Beside him are his most trusted men, Rei and Anton who wear black suits.
Rei noticed Henry fidgeting while standing in front of them which made him smirk. It is the first time that he saw his best friend nervous and anxious over something or someone.
Henry had been fighting different kinds of people head-on over money and businesses but he never once did show any kind of worry or apprehension. It was only Amy who could make the famous, rich, and successful Henry Welsh very nervous to the bone.
"Relax man, Amy is not going anywhere. With the number of security you and your uncle hired today, even an ant cannot escape this place," Rei jested.
"What if she changes her mind at the last minute?" Henry worriedly asks as he frowns at Rei and Anton as if he was asking about something that will surely happen.
"That won’t happen, bro, look over there, here comes the bride’s entourage," Anton pointed out after seeing Mary walk with a big smile on her face toward the aisle.
The wedding planner then signaled to everyone to take their position, which everyone followed.
Amy was asked to wait on the spot specially made for the bride while waiting for the whole entourage to take their position and do the processional walk. The place where Amy stayed has curtains that will hide her from the guests and the groom.
Amy was so nervous that she did not sit on the chair provided for her as she waited for her turn to walk down the aisle. She was looking down trying to calm herself when a bouquet of red roses suddenly appeared in front of her.
"Red beautiful flowers for a lovely bride," it was Uncle Trev who handed her the wedding bouquet.
Amy smiled at the sight of him having a big genuine smile on his face, "Thank you, Uncle Trev, this is lovely. It is my favorite flower."
"Oh don’t thank me, dear. Henry was the one who gave me this. He said you bought these on your first date. And looks like he threatened the gardener to take very good care of those plants to produce beautiful flowers like these," Trev then winked at her as they both laugh.
"I am sure he did. Thanks for personally handing me over the bouquet, you should go to your spot, we will start soon," Amy exclaimed.
"I assure you dear that I am exactly where I should be," Amy creased her brows not understanding what he meant.
"I told Henry that I want to walk you down the aisle. Jayson nor his grandpa isn’t here to do that job. So if it is okay with you, may I do the honor of taking your hand down the aisle and present you to my nephew?" Amy did not answer but instead dived into Uncle Trev hugging him wholeheartedly and tightly.
"Oh dear, I can’t breathe. I’ll pass out before we can even walk," Amy immediately releases Trev from her embrace while they both chortle.
"I am sorry uncle, yes, of course, I will be happy if you walk me there. Thank you, it means so much to me," Amy tried hard to not cry, but a single tear already escaped one of her eyes which she quickly wiped.
"Good then, thank me with lots of grandkids later," Trev then raised his elbow and added, "Shall we?"
Amy nodded and clung to Uncle Trev’s arm before they heard the sound of the wedding march.
