CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 126: Too Ugly
"Love, why do we have to dress up this much for that event? It’s just a welcome party for your employees, don’t you think this is too much? They might think that we are showing off," Henry protested after Amy hired a stylist and hair and makeup artist for them.
It is the day for Henry’s surprise party and she told him that they decided to set up a welcome party for all the new and existing employees which he believed. He has no idea what is in store for him.
"I don’t think so, I am fully dressed up so must you," Amy said while looking at him through the mirror as the makeup artist do her face.
Amy bought a 3pc beige tuxedo for Henry matching it with a maroon tie and leather shoes. On the other hand, Amy is wearing a blush pink strapless, short umbrella cocktail dress with floral patching and sequins around the chest area down to the waistline.
"Your dress... I hate it. It’s too ugly, you should change," Henry said while scrunching his face as he face Amy in the mirror.
Amy laughed at his comment, she knows that it was a beautiful dress but Henry just hate the fact that it is too short and too revealing. She is just thankful that Henry is toning down his possessiveness over her.
Ever since she confessed to him, he is not too strict with her clothing anymore. He will still voice out his opinion though but he will not force her to change what she’s wearing.
When it was time to go to the venue, Henry tried his best to convince Amy to change her dress one last time but Amy’s decision did not falter. Henry can only sigh, he doesn’t want to force her, not when their relationship is doing great lately.
Tony was already waiting for them by the car when they went out and Rei is nowhere in sight.
"Where’s Rei?" Henry asked Tony.
"Sir, he said he will drive his own car and will not come with us," Tony uttered while opening the car door for them.
"Looks like he went to your farm to pick up Sandra," Henry said to Amy and she just nodded. Of course, she already knows where he is at.
They all went early to the venue to make sure everyone gets settled before they arrive. It’s a surprise party and they don’t want other guests wandering outside the venue when Henry arrives.
The party is held in a 5-star hotel, making Henry’s forehead crease more. He already hates Amy’s above-the-knee, tube, short dress and now he just found out that Amy rented a 5-star hotel for the welcome party of her employees.
If you ask him, it is too much and too expensive for a new company that hasn’t earned anything yet.
His mood is really turning sour by the minute, thinking that Amy is wasting money... a lot of money, when a welcome party shouldn’t be this extravagant.
Meanwhile, Amy is really nervous, she keeps on looking around to make sure that no guest is roaming around that will make Henry doubt the party they are going into.
Fortunately, they arrive at the main lobby without seeing anyone except for Dave, Mitch, and Ava who were waiting for them near the entrance of the banquet hall of the hotel.
Since the doors of the hall are closed, Henry did not suspect that the party is inside that room, or else he will really question Amy’s financial decision-making.
Amy and Henry stopped in front of the three, "What are you three doing here?" Henry asked.
"Sir we were just waiting for you, so you won’t get lost," Dave replied.
Henry nodded and when he was about to walk past the banquet hall doors, Amy pulled his arms just right in time for Dave and Mitch to open the banquet hall doors.
Amy pulled him so fast that he has no time to question why are they entering a very expensive event venue. He just looked at Amy and shifted his gaze to the opening doors and he felt as if he was in a slow-motion picture.
As soon as the double doors were half opened, Henry heard party poppers and saw confetti falling down in front of him.
’Just what the hell is going on?’ Henry asked himself, but before he can process everything, he heard people shouting.
"SURPRISE!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HENRY!!!"
Henry was astonished and before he can digest anything that is happening, Amy hugged him. His attention was back on her and stare at her beautiful smiling face.
"Happy birthday my love, sorry for lying about the welcome party. I wanted to surprise you," Amy did not wait for him to reply. She placed her hands on both sides of his face and pulled him down for a passionate kiss.
He held her waist tight as he respond back to her kiss full of love. He can feel her emotions from that kiss and he loves it.
Soon he heard the people whistling and teasing remarks, and they realized that oh yes they are not alone. They are in front of everyone kissing each other as if no one is watching. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
The two released each other from their arms and people who are close to them started moving forward to greet the birthday celebrant.
Amy moved aside to give way to the people who wanted to greet Henry. Uncle Trev went to her as soon as he finished greeting his nephew and Amy sigh as soon as she saw him walking towards her.
"Gosh, here we go again," she whispered to herself.
She likes Uncle Trev no doubt about that, he is such a nice person but he is pressuring her into marrying Henry and she just doesn’t want to deal with it right now.
"This is a lovely party Amy, you did well," Trev said as he hug her.
"Thanks, uncle, I just hope Henry likes it too."
"I am sure he will. By the way, regarding the invitations that you gave me, I gave one to Mr. Brighton and his son. I hope you don’t mind."
Amy’s eyes widened in horror. The last thing she wanted is for Ash and Henry to be in the same room after what happened to them the last time.
"What?!" She almost yelled after hearing what Uncle Trev said.
"Brighton Industries is also acquainted with Welsh Holdings in some businesses and I think this is the best time to show them how good your relationship with Henry is," Uncle Trev then gave her a devilish smile that she did not like a bit.
Amy just facepalms herself as she thinks of ways how to handle the situation that Uncle Trev intentionally created.
