As you might have guessed from the last Chapter, we are headed for a three-year time skip. I’ll be anchoring these skips around Ren’s birthday to make the timeline easier for everyone (including me!) to track.

Reflecting on The Shadow’s War Arc:

First, I want to sincerely apologize if there was anything in this arc that didn’t hit the mark for you or if I overlooked certain details.

This has been the defining arc of the story so far. Honestly, I don’t know if anything I write in the future will compare to the effort put into this one. This arc saw me through exams, health struggles, and moments where I almost dropped the fic entirely.

Somehow, I persisted, and I’m so glad I finished it. I truly hope you enjoyed the direction the story is taking.

What’s Next?

Originally, I planned on taking a small break to refresh my mind. However, I’ve realized I don’t actually need one; my mind is... well, is as good as it’s ever going to be! That’s good news for you guys, as the story will keep moving.

Once the time skip concludes, I think many of you know what’s coming... but I’m still not telling! Hehe.

A quick heads-up: The pacing might feel a bit experimental for a while. I know the destination, but I’m still deciding whether to handle the intervening years as a recap or a year-by-year skip. Bear with me while I find the right rhythm.
