Chapter 222: Shattered Moon, Shattered Pride

Jamie laughed at Glox’s question, his voice echoing in the emptiness.

"I understand you’re confused, but explanations come later."

Without warning, Jamie tapped him on the back, and Glox felt a surge of energy. Summoning law energy flowed into his body—into the very fibres of this new flesh—and bound him to Jamie.

He instinctively tried to resist, but it was futile. His new body was created by Jamie, infused with the Hybrid’s law energy.

No matter how much power Glox wielded now, Jamie held the reins, and Glox was now nothing more than a summon.

Before Glox could comprehend what was happening, Jamie grabbed him by the scruff of his neck with casual ease.

"Now then, my summon, I choose you."

Jamie hurled Glox straight at the giant wolf beast that had begun charging towards him.

Glox’s mind scrambled to process what was happening when the wolf’s roar echoed, shaking him down to the core of his soul.

Instinct took over. Desperate to survive, Glox summoned the greatest power he could muster.

A portal opened before him, crackling with dark energy. From it, a beam of Negative Life Energy erupted, a pulsating black and green force that slammed into the wolf, sending the beast hurtling backwards through space, hundreds of meters away.

Glox’s eyes widened as he saw what had happened. This power was incredible, far beyond what he remembered himself to possess.

His eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at his hands again.

’Where did this power come from?’

As if sensing his thoughts, Jamie’s voice cut through the air with a commanding undertone.

"Don’t waste time being surprised at your power. Fight, Glox. Fight or DIE."

The words hit Glox like a thunderclap.

Fight or die.

He had already tasted death once, and it was not an experience he was eager to repeat. Heart pounding, he gritted his teeth and threw himself into the battle, launching himself at the wolf with newfound ferocity.

As Glox and the wolf monster clashed, Jamie turned his attention back to Irenot, who had been watching the spectacle with a look of frustration that his technique which he planned to use and make the battle a 2 V 1 had failed.

He also knew that Jamie was surely not going to let him try it a second time.

"Now then shall we end things on our end?"

Without waiting for a reply, Jamie charged towards Irenot, his body blurring as he accelerated across the moon’s surface.

Irenot conjured fiery orbs in quick succession, hurling them at Jamie with force. Flames erupted across the lunar landscape, but Jamie was already weaving through them with ease.

He sprinted across the moon’s cratered plains, dodging the scorching orbs by mere inches as they crashed into the ground, sending molten rock flying in all directions.

Jamie then launched himself onto one of the artificial mountains that had been created by the explosions, using the uneven terrain to his advantage.

He sprinted across the jagged peaks, his eyes never leaving Irenot while he condensed cosmic and void energy into a dense sphere in his palm.

He then leapt towards Irenot and hurled the void sphere towards the Space Beast Lord. As the sphere hurtled toward its target, it expanded exponentially, its gravitational pull warping the space around it.

The sphere grew to nearly ten times Irenot’s size, threatening to swallow him whole.

But Irenot wasn’t caught off guard. His eyes flared with fury as he summoned his flames once more, combining them with one of the floating orbs behind him.

The searing fireball collided with the void sphere just as it entered the ten-meter radius around Irenot’s body and the resulting clash of energies caused a massive shockwave through space.

Irenot gritted his teeth and resisted the pull of the void, before using law energy to blast his body away and arc around the sphere, breaking free from its gravitational pull.

He dashed toward Jamie, and the two collided mid-air, exchanging blows at hypersonic speed.

Irenot roared, and summoned his flames, combining them with as much ambient law energy as he could muster in seconds and formed a blazing wheel of fire.

He hurled it towards Jamie like a chakram, but Jamie twisted his body to dodge it by a hair’s breadth.

Then, in a bold move, Jamie spun around and caught the wheel in his hand. The fiery energy sizzled against his skin, but Jamie flexed his fingers and crushed the wheel, the flames disintegrating in his grasp.

Without hesitating, Jamie charged back at Irenot who summoned another wheel of flames. Jamie condensed another void sphere and dashed towards Irenot who sent the spinning wheel of fire towards Jamie.

The attacks collided, the dark blue void clashing violently with Irenot’s green wheel of fire, resulting in an explosion that turned the surrounding space to mush.

Though his void sphere destroyed the wheel, the force of the impact pushed Jamie back, his feet digging deep into the moon’s surface, creating massive craters beneath him. Irenot pressed his advantage, creating a sphere of fire then charged at Jamie and slamming it down on the Hybrid.

He poured more energy into his flames, using his raw strength to try and overwhelm Jamie, but Jamie drew in ambient cosmic energy and detonated it. The ground beneath him exploded outward as the shockwave from the detonation sent Irenot flying into the air.

Recovering quickly, Irenot fired a barrage of flame blasts at Jamie, but Jamie sidestepped each one with ease.

One of the blasts came too close, but instead of dodging it, Jamie caught the fireball in his hand. He twirled on his heel, gathering momentum before hurling the flaming projectile back at Irenot with such speed that the space beast couldn’t react.

The fireball struck Irenot squarely in the chest, the impact sending him careening back.

Irenot’s frustration reached his boiling point.

His eyes, already burning with intensity, flared with a menacing green light. Jamie’s calm demeanour, the effortless way he countered every one of Irenot’s attacks, was infuriating.

’It’s as if he’s toying with me!’

Gritting his teeth, Irenot decided it was time to use a technique he had reserved for more dire circumstances.

Irenot grabbed one of the remaining two floating orbs and condensed his green flames into it. Its surface rippled with energy, as if barely able to contain the volatile power being infused into it.

The Beast Lord then raised his arms high above his head, gripping the orb tightly as green flames spiralled up his forearm. He channelled his fury into the flames, shaping the energy into a blinding laser.

The light from the condensed flame grew so intense that cast long, distorted shadows on the moon’s cratered surface.

|This ends now!|

With a violent motion, Irenot swung the orb down, using the laser to slash at Jamie. The beam of green light screamed through space, a scorching line of pure energy that tore through its fabric as it hurtled toward Jamie with unstoppable speed.

The beam hurtling toward Jamie expanded in width as it approached until it seemed ready to swallow him whole.

The laser moved at a speed that was nearly sub-relativistic, colliding with Jamie and engulfing his entire body in the searing green flames.

The force of the attack landing sent a massive shockwave rippling across the moon’s surface, but the beam didn’t stop there.

It continued downward, crashing into the moon itself.

In a single, devastating instant, the laser tore through the lunar surface like a hot knife through butter, splitting it wide open with a deep, violent crack.

The moon split in two.
