A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 371: Complete Annihilation

In the Merfolk Kingdom, the Elders started to gather for their daily meeting. It is a regular thing for them to discuss various things and also a way to convey various ideas and news to the other members that would allow them to be informed of the different situations that is happening around them. But the most important thing that they are trying to do for gathering like this is to ensure that they are not seen by the Royal Family conducting their plans. After all, official meetings only happen once a month. A daily meeting is only exclusive for them and not for something that they are doing officially. Of course, this meeting is non-mandatory and one can skip on it if they are busy on that time but if there are official calls, they will need to attend no matter how busy they are.

There are 8 members of the Elders and each of them hold significant power and rule a household name in the Merfolk kingdom that no ordinary commoner can dream of experiencing in their lifetime. And not just about money, they also hold power of magic strong enough to be considered as something that can be considered as a master of their craft, allowing them to rise from power and dominating their enemies using these special powers they hold. Once they pass a certain threshold, they will soon become treated as sages and they will be stronger than ever before.

As for their families, they are all called Great Families but they are numbered based on who first rose up as a great family in the past until the present. In short, if they are called the Third Great Family, they became the third prominent family household in the kingdom, allowing them to easily tell who is the main founders and those who came after.

Right now, the reason they are gathered is something to do with the thing they are doing to the Kingdom they tried to attack but was immediately repelled by a farmer and her companions. It wasn’t even a big attack because their main priority was to bring back the daughter of the king but they ended up losing and getting the king injured in the process. As a way of payback and to also slowly make the kingdom suffer without them realizing it, they have done something that even the Royal Family is unaware of.

"How is the artifact holding up?" the elder of the first great family asked. He holds the greatest authority to them all and the one who is considered to be the main founder of the Elder’s circle.

"Doing well. We just charged it up with new intensity of mana connection. It is not to the point it will create a storm, but it will soon create heavy rains in the following days as long as the mana we inserted is maintained to the amount we put in," the elder of the eighth great family answered as she handed over the measuring device that shows the measured mana.

"So we are now increasing the intensity. But isn’t that going to make things suspicious to the kingdom? Won’t they immediately notice the abnormality itself? I heard they just recently finished dealing with the Eternal Winter problem. What we are doing doesn’t seem that different," the elder of the first great family felt some concerns.

"Don’t worry. Compared to the people who was the cause of that winter case, no one will know that the reason they are experiencing this thing is because of us. They will not be able to tell that due to an artifact we are controlling that easily blocks anything that tracks it. And besides, will they even suspect us? Not at all," the fifth great family elder smugly and confidently said.

"I agree. Humans might be dominating the world but that doesn’t mean they are the superior race. They are still dumb and a bit useless at times," the elder of the sixth great family agreed.

The first elder snap his finger and the artifact floats in the middle of the room, showing the little artifact to appear like a crystal tear with some metal contraptions around it that seems to hold it in place. As the artifact appears, all the elders can tell their mana is connected to the artifact. Feeling their connection to it, they can confidently tell that they will be doing a lot of trouble to the people of Darcero Kingdom. A little payback for something that a single person had done.

However, they didn’t know someone is already grinning as she holds her knife and swiftly cut down the blue threads that connects themselves to the artifact.

SNAP!

It cannot be heard by anyone aside from people who have sharp hearing but it doesn’t matter as the result of that snap is clear.

"GWAAAK!"

The elder of the fourth family pukes out blood and fall on her chair as she started convulsing. Her veins started pulsating and blood exploding, small but gradual.

"What is going on?!" the First Elder stood up from his chair as everyone immediately approached the elder convulsing.

But that wasn’t all.

"GAH...AAAGGHH!"

It is the second elder this time around and just like the fourth elder, he started convulsing and his veins starts to explode.

"She is still alive but her mana veins ruptured! She will most likely not going to be able to cast magic again!" the Sixth Elder shouted as he inspected the fourth elder who collapsed after the incident.

The other elders went to the rescue of the second elder this time around but before they could do another rescue, this time around, the eighth and the third elders both collapsed and their veins exploded as well causing panic to the remaining people who have witnessed the incident.

"What is happening! Is someone attacking us?!" the first Elder is now looking around the place to look for the perpetrator.

"No way! I have not heard of this kind of attack in the first place!" seventh elder shouted but his eyes are also like the first elder and is looking for a way to pin this incident.

But before they can do anything, the remaining elders who have yet to experience the event all simultaneously took damage from it and everyone pukes out blood. The other elders immediately collapsed but the First Elder didn’t collapsed immediately. Although he got damaged, he managed to keep his sanity intact and his mana veins still remain intact, however, he got damaged badly and he is holding in his pain just so he won’t collapsed like the others.

Still, just like the others, his mana veins are not safe either. Before he could cast a spell to protect his mana veins from getting ruptured by an unknown force, that force forcibly rips apart his mana veins and every single mana veins in his body ruptured.

The pain is unimaginable. It felt like his whole body has been skinned alive then got doused with hot water, then thousands of blades were dropped straight to his flesh. There are various more pain he can’t tell anymore but it was the most painful things that seems to exist in the world combined in one.

Despite his endurance allowing him to survive and keep his consciousness still intact, he couldn’t endure it enough that he fell to the floor, bleeding. He is still conscious while feeling the pain. He had his eyes looking around the place, only to see the artifact float in the air all on its own, before breaking to pieces and falling to the floor like the rest of the elders who are now unconscious.

One thing is for sure though, now that their mana veins have ruptured, even if they are still alive after this incident, they will no longer be the same. The power they hold so dearly are now gone and accessing it once more is no longer possible. They will become ordinary people now and will no longer be someone who can be considered as merfolk of power.

For them who holds so much power over these years, losing their power and their standing in the society is just similar to fully executing them. They are worse than dead.

In just one day, the Elders that are known to be the pillar of the Merfolk Council lost their seats in power after this incident.

In Elaina’s hands is the crushed Emerald that she crushed using a hammer. She picked up the shards of it and she can now tell even in the shards that the luster of the emerald it once had has disappeared completely. This time around, the whole thing has turned grey, losing its identity as former emerald.

But just like the destruction of the emerald losing its color, the color of the sky outside has gradually regained its color. The blue sky that was absent for the past few days has returned and the sun that has been hiding from the sky beneath the thick dark clouds has finally emerged, peeking out of the world.
