365 Days To Love-Chapter 101 - ONE HUNDRED AND ONE:She Doesn’t Want To Find Her Parents.
Hazel stared at herself in the mirror,her thoughts racing further back at Zaiden’s declaration a few hours ago.
Was he for real?
She knew it won’t be easy trusting him after what he did to her,but her consciousness was battling with her at the thought of trusting him this time.
Why now?
Why does he choose now to tell her how he really feels for her?
Three months were gone,three good months of her life were gone without her bragging that she did anything worthwhile with the past months.
But why the sudden changes?
For all she cared,she suspected something was wrong in the first place starting from this morning,he decided to clean her face and then waking up to her confessing how he’s going to win her heart and did she forget the date?
He had said that they would be leaving the country for two weeks,just the two of them. She’s so delighted just by hearing it but she still had this doubting feeling that he’s playing with her heart.
He can’t just suddenly wake up one day having a change of heart for what he did to her or feel remorseful about his actions, something promoted this sudden character and she’s going to find out why.
She had eaten lunch which he brought to her himself, stunning her further after he denied her request of doing that herself,her chords were okay but the inflamed neck wasn’t that much okay,thanks to Zaiden’s harsh treatment on them yesterday.
Was this a sign that he’s the one?
Was fate playing a fast one on her again?
She knew all her life that the universe hasn’t been kind to her,so believing what Zaiden said made her think harder at the thoughts of the heavens playing a fast one at her.
But did that matter any longer?
No.
Zaiden was the one she chose and she has barely seven months to live her life and fulfill her wishes before she leaves for good.
How would he react once he finds out her time is limited here?
She didn’t see herself telling him yet about her sickness,she knew what his reaction was going to be,since she doesn’t know yet what or why exactly he’s changed towards her,he’s clearly going to kill her even before her time is up on earth once he finds out that she’s been lying all her life.
But it wasn’t entirely her fault, she’s treading carefully,she hasn’t even let Sunny know yet about what’s going on with her.
The only thing that was going to hurt her, was seeing Sunny get heartbroken over the news of her death,she’s not going to forgive herself all her life for not noticing that something was wrong with her.
She didn’t want that, but she couldn’t risk telling her now,so,it’s just better keeping the secrets to herself until her time was up.
Now,all she needed to do was focus on the certain task at hand,which was making Zaiden fall in love with her as much as she would fall in love with him.
Was that possible?
This was Zaiden she’s talking about,he could be pretending just to only get her heart broken when she finally trusts him.
But the risk was worth taking,Seven months remaining,Hazel what are you thinking?
She stood up to take her diary from where she hid it away from Zaiden,she knew how curious he is to know what she wants from this marriage and keeping her diary where he could find it was a dangerous idea.
She marked the date on the calendar while staring ahead at the remaining time she has,is this bound to happen?
Am I going to die for real?
She doesn’t know why exactly this was happening to her,like her doctor said,the disease was hundred percent hereditary,making it confirmed that she got it from her parents.
Her parents?
Whoever that’s suffering the same disease like her are they dead? Or is it just her?
She just wished they were suffering just the way she is,the heavens can’t go lenient on her parents after abandoning her.
"What is it you are thinking so hard about?"Avery’s voice got her startled,because she closed her diary tugging the drawer open to place it in before turning to look at Avery sitting beside her.
"M.mom"She forced a smile on her face to assure the woman that she was okay but she knew how good she was at reading people,so she felt bad for what she did.
She hasn’t exactly gotten used to calling her mom, she shouldn’t be blamed,she’s hadn’t actually digested the fact that she’s been treated this way by her.
Why is she treating her nicely?
She’s just a nobody!
An outsider was treating her good as if she’s the biological daughter to her while her parents had abandoned her the very moment she was born.
"How are you feeling? how’s your body?"Avert asked, smiling at her while touching her temple to check her temperature.
She noticed how sad she had been and hid something away from her when she heard her voice,but she wasn’t going to force the girl to talk to her,but still,she felt bad seeing her that way.
Hazel has made something in her feel for her, she is just actually happy that she got lucky to find someone as her to get called her daughter.
She had desperately wanted a daughter, but figures, life doesn’t go exactly the way one expects it to,seeing Hazel had fulfilled her long time dream.
She couldn’t exactly explain the love she had for the girl,to the extent of getting her married to her son, she knew once her identity is made public,the criticism and public views about why such a lowlife like her was getting married to her son would surface.
She wasn’t scared, likewise Hazel,the girl had a strong fighting spirit which she could praise,no one has been able to withstand Zaiden once he’s angry and his shitty character but she had stayed without blinking an eye or having a second mind to leave.
At first,she got suspicious about her,seeing that she wasn’t willing to leave Zaiden after what he did,but her doubt got cleared after she remembered the way they met.
If she’s after their money just like her husband has accused before changing his mind,she won’t have given her back her bracelet,she noticed that she was still wearing it too.
Such a perfect daughter-in-law!
But still, the sadness in the girl’s heart still pained her, something was bothering Hazel and she needed to let out but she’s just stubborn to do that,truly speaking,she’s just the exact copy of Zaiden,the two were stubborn. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"I’m fine,m..mom"she grinned.
"Where’s he?’’Avery asked looking around the room to notice her son wasn’t here,the last she saw him was when demanding from his grandpa what they actually meant that Hazel was in danger.
"He went out a few minutes ago"Hazel replied curtly,moving her hair behind her ear,letting out a breath she was holding in because she didn’t ask her what she was hiding.
"So,how’s things between the two of you?Did he apologize for the..."Avery asked, touching her neck.
Hazel nodded which made her raise her brow in astonishment,it was as if she wasn’t expecting him to do that,figures, everyone knew how stubborn he was,so she couldn’t question the look on the woman’s face.
"How did he apologize?"She asked next which made Hazel scratch her head,feeling nervous to tell her that her son was trying to win her heart.
Maybe this wasn’t a good time to tell her that her son was changing,she should find out for herself if truly,her son was changing or not, because she too,was finding it difficult to believe.
"Is there something you want to talk about?’’Avery choosed this time to ask her the questions she has been longing to ask.``we are not talking about my son,let’s talk about you Hazel,what is bothering you?"She asked concerned.
"It’s nothing..a.actually"She stuttered looking away from Avery’s face that was full of concern for her, the woman was a nice woman,she will forever be grateful to her for treating her well but she won’t tell her yet about her disease.
"Is it about your parents?"
How does she know?
Hazel turned to look at her immediately she brought up the topic about her parents,was it that obvious in her face that she’s been thinking about them.
"Do you want me to look for them,I could help you"She offered,covering her hands with hers,while stroking it to assure her it was okay to talk things out with her.
"No.."Hazel said more like a whisper,which she couldn’t hear,she’s on the verge of crying but was trying to hold it.
"What do you say? Should I do that?’’She asked further and then Hazel burst out crying while turning her head in denial to what she offered.
"No..don’t se..search for them,I d.dont want to see them!"she cried before she was pulled into her embrace.
"It’s okay dear,it’s okay"Avery cooed,patting her back as she let it all out,she was serious when offered to help her look for her parents,but seeing her now,she felt bad.
She was hurt.
But she knew deep down in her heart, She wanted to see her parents as much as she’s denying that she didn’t want to see them.
What exactly was she going through which made her decline the idea of finding her parents?
"I don’t want to see them"She heard her say again while she continued crying,the two were comforting each other oblivious to the eyes that were at the door watching them.
