The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife - Chapter 123: Supportive Wife.
They arrived at the Anderson’s mansion, and Shikera took a deep breath in to inhale the peaceful air of the place she had as home for the past ten years, until recently. They walked into the living room, welcomed by the large portrait of Shikera’s mother placed on the wall facing the entrance.
"Hi, mummy. Missed me? I did too, but it is all your husband’s fault," Shikera smiled at the portrait, waving her hands cheerfully at the image. She had expected the usual laughter from her father and brother, but was surprised when everywhere was as quiet as a graveyard.
"Shikera, we have to talk," her father said.
’Now that is serious,’ Shikera thought, noticing that her father called her Shikera instead of Princess.
She went to stand before him, wearing a serious expression on her face as she sat down before him.
Noah sat down too, ready to defend his sister whenever he deemed it fit.
"What are we talking about?"
Liam avoided her gaze.
"It’s...I know youngsters of these day naturally don’t care about such things but the way you were dressed when I saw you earlier was..." he trailed off when he saw Shikera roll her eyes, as if what he said was absurd.
He tried another approach.
"I am not trying to scold you Shikera, but a man’s body works differently. It might be a contract marriage but then, you still can’t dress like that in the presence of a man. Especially not a man that’s that attractive."
"What if I want to make it a real marriage and not a contract one? Is that not possible?" Shikera asked.
Liam looked up immediately, meeting her gaze. What he had feared had happened!
"You know you can’t, Princess. Even if he agrees to making your marriage real, he is still a man that has needs and if he can’t touch you, then the divorce is definitely going to happen sooner or later."
Shikera shook her head at his words, disagreeing with him.
"I didn’t say I would not satisfy his needs. I will be the perfect wife...even if it’s only going to be for a short while," she countered Liam, receiving a thumbs up from her brother.
Liam sighed, and one could tell from his sitting posture that he was really nervous.
"That exactly is the point, Princess! If you decide to be the perfect wife, then you will be the only one who will suffer. You will get pregnant and then... Anyways, you will dissapear from his life within a year or two if you do what you are thinking. If you die, Shikera, then you won’t be the perfect wife any longer. Every man wants a wife who can support him—"
Shikera flared up at that moment, as her father’s words reminded her of Chris’ words. To everyone around, except for Noah, she was nothing but a burden for Ethan.
"And who says I can’t support him?! I will support him, even in death. I do have shares in Anderson Corporation, right? Except you already see me as a mere daughter who will soon die in five years time and doesn’t have to get your money!" she yelled, standing to her feet.
Liam was shocked at the direction the conversation had suddenly went. He was not sure how the ideas got in Shikera’s head that he did not love her enough. If only she knew what he gave to get her married to Ethan DeLoach.
"Princess, you don’t mean that, right? Of course, you do have shares in Anderson Corporation. If you want them all, I can give them to you. I am sure Noah would not mind. Right, Noah?" He turned to ask Noah who looked confused as to why he was dragged into the conversation.
He answered anyway. "I would not mind as long as Shikera doesn’t forget her brother and sends me pocket money at least every week!"
Shikera almost laughed at his words but the pain in her chest restrained her.
"That’s it then!" She said. "I will give my shares to Ethan so even if I die suddenly, I will still be rendering my support to him from my grave!"
"Princess!" Liam yelled, stopping her from talking about grave and death like it was nothing.
He continued, "Stop that now! Do you think you supporting him when you are dead would mean anything to him? He will be hurt, and might even want to destroy everything that reminds him of you, and that would include your shares too—"
"I don’t fucking care!" Shikera screamed, surprised at her own outburst. But she didn’t stop anyway. "I just want to leave the rest of my short life in peace and not care about what would happen to everyone after I die. Ethan, you, Noah, Cyprian and even Krystal; u don’t want to care about you guys!"
She stormed out of the house as soon as she was done talking, leaving silence in her wake.
"Now Chairman Anderson, you just got your ever tolerating daughter to flare up in anger. I was already commending you for putting her with someone she loves and now, you want to destroy her happiness?"
"Stop it, Noah! Ethan is not her happiness—"
"What do you mean he is not her happiness. She loves him, Dad and...f*ck. Why am I even saying this when you won’t listen?"
"That’s where you are wrong. Shikera does not love Ethan, at least not yet. If she did, she would be worried about how he would live after she dies and how he would regret loving her all all his life. She would not be so intent on getting her own happiness while ignoring everyone else. In my opinion, I think it is just a simple infatuation. I don’t have anything to worry about," Liam argued, reassuring himself at the same time.
"You...you are pathetic, Dad. And the only words of advice I can spare is that you let Shikera be! I didn’t want to say this before but remember that all this is your fault, both the fact that she falls sick frequently and her kidnap 20 years ago. Only Ethan can understand her, as he was also kidnapped at that same time so please...let your princess out of her cage this one time!"
He stormed out of the house too, breaking into a sprint as soon as he got outside, so he could meet Shikera before she left the mansion premises.
