An hour ago.

Noah frowned.

"And who are you?" he asked, facing the woman. She looked like the one in authority between her and the man beside her.

"I am Ruthlyn Stone, and he is Ethan DeLoach. Will you come with us now?"

"Wow! I thought love blinded him," Noah said, referring to Ethan who had sent them. Honestly, he had been surprised when Ethan had abandoned him outside only to follow Shikera. Was he not scared that Noah had taken a video or picture of him?

"It appears it didn’t. Will you come with us now?" Ruthlyn asked, with her business like tone.

"To where?"

"There is a villa at the back where you can rest while waiting for Mr DeLoach," it was Enoch who answered this time around as he didn’t like the way this visitor’s eyes refused to leave Ruthlyn’s face.

Noah turned to look at the new speaker, noticing the resemblance between him and Ethan who he had seen earlier. He nodded, thinking inwardly of how beautiful his sister’s children would be, if she decided to have any.

"I can smell water not far from here, can you take me over there instead? By the way, you should also get me lunch too. Hunger is the only thing that would make me escape from here," Noah agreed to stay, giving them his own conditions. He walked away from the rigid partners and walked around the villa, trying to trace where the smell of spring water came from.

He didn’t walk far before spotting the lake, and a smile came to cross his lips. Taking his seat on one of the chairs there, he turned to Ruthlyn and Enoch who had followed after him.

"How long do I have to wait until I get my lunch?" he asked.

"Few minutes pls," Ruthlyn bowed slightly, before leaving the lake side.

The refreshments came a few minutes later as Ruthlyn had promised, but Noah was already waiting for an hour now and Ethan had not come yet.

"You sure he asked you to stop me?" he asked, his question directed at Enoch and Ruthlyn. The former was using his phone while that latter was on her laptop, working, but the two looked up when they heard his question.

"He will be here soon," they chorused unanimously, surprising Noah who was beginning to think they were Ethan’s programmed robots.

He was prepared to wait for another slow and sluggish hour when he heard the sound of a car...or two driving in.

"I thought you guys would be pretty isolated. Didn’t know you get visitors as frequently as this."

Ruthlyn did not reply, for she was confused too. If at all there was any car driving into their driveway, she expected it to be Raymond’s but he could not drive two cars at once, right? 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"It is not a welcome visitor," she informed him. Standing up from her seat, she signaled to Enoch and the both of them approached the Villa’s main door with Noah trailing after them.

Presently...

"Who is—" Shikera trailed off she saw the people who entered the house. There was Ethan’s father and her own father too and none of them were looking pleased in any way.

Leaving Ethan’s side, Shikera ran straight to her father and hugged him, masking her anxiety with excitement. She knew her father was expected to be back in 8 months time so she could not think of any reason why he was here now. At the same time, she also wondered if he was alright already. If that was true, did that mean she would have to divorce Ethan now?!

She shook her head as she could not think of what to do if that was what really happened.

"Daddy, why the surprise?! Are you back now, back for good?" She asked, trying hard not to expose her nervousness.

Liam smiled at her, happy that his princess was still beautiful just as he left her, or even more beautiful than the way he left her. Her skin was radiant and seemed to have more color, and her eyes also seemed to be sparkling.

"It’s nothing, Princess. I just missed you," he stopped his answer at that, before turning to Ethan.

"How are you doing, Ethan?" he asked, his smile unwavering.

Ethan, who had just buttoned his shirt, didn’t answer Liam immediately.

"Upstairs, Kera. I think you might need to dress up," he said to Shikera, whose eyes widened as she looked down at herself. She probably hadn’t realized that she was not dressed properly.

He watched as she excused herself and ran up the stairs, before answering Liam. He extended his hand to the couch, and the two men took their seats on it.

"I have been doing absolutely great, until now. What is the matter?" he sat down too, and it was at that moment that Noah, Ruthlyn and Enoch walked in.

"Dad?! What are you doing here?" Noah exclaimed.

Though surprised that his son was here, Liam did not show it.

"Can’t I visit my daughter again? I only came here to make sure the contract has not been defied yet and also to have a little discussion with my daughter. I will be going back in the next three days after all," he said, and everyone in the room was able to detect his real reason for coming.

The stomping of feet on the stairs drew all of their attentions as they turned to the stairway to see Shikera emerge.

She was wearing slim fitted jean trousers, and a black blouse, while her feet was covered by black sneakers.

Liam stood up immediately.

"Since all seems well, I will leave with Shikera for a while and be sure to get her back by evening. Noah will also be coming with me," he announced. Shikera cast a glance at Ethan and seeing him nod approvingly, she followed her father.

Noah followed, not because he was obeying his father’s instructions but because he had a lot of questions for the man.

And the first was, "Why do you seem to like destroying peaceful atmospheres, Dad?"
