Omega's Rebirth - Chapter 242: Run ()
"Let me go!" Neveah hissed urgently, her voice cracking at the end.
Xenon also seemed to regain his senses at Neveah’s tone and he quickly took a step back, but still held onto Neveah’s hand.
"V...Veah..." Xenon murmured quietly.
Neveah kept her gaze low whilst trying to steady her breathing,
She did not dare to meet Xenon’s tender gaze for fear that she would once again fall to his charms.
The memory of Alessio that had been triggered left the mate bond pulsing within Neveah’s mind, reminding her that she could never truly live as she pleased.
Neveah knew Xenon meant no harm by his words, he was nothing like Alessio yet he had attained what Alessio could never have.
Neveah’s heart was moved, and for that Neveah found, she feared Xenon... she was terrified of what she felt for this black scaled dragon and what it would cost her when her cruel fate brought along another twist.
"I do not belong to anyone Xenon... that is my answer....never do this again." Neveah warned in a shaky tone as she pulled her hand back and dashed away as fast as her legs could carry her.
Xenon stood, staring after Neveah. He did not look disappointed in the slightest, instead there was a dreamy smile on his face as he lifted a thumb to his lips.
Xenon was now certain of what he wanted and what he was more certain of was the fact that she wanted him too.
The night all of a sudden felt quite delightful to Xenon and his smile stretched into a grin.
"Run..." Xenon murmured to himself.
’I will keep coming after you, little wolf.’ Xenon completed the words in his mind, chuckling quietly as his tongue flicked out, trailing across his lips.

"I shouldn’t have come here! By the Creator, what is wrong with me?!" Neveah reprimanded herself as she hurried back the way she had come, still struggling to catch her breath and steady her heart.
Neveah had not even realized she had gone so deep into the woods in search of Xenon and now she had to make her way back to his cave before she could make her descent.
The pulsing of the mate bond and the lingering feeling of Xenon’s touch was a little too overwhelming for Neveah.
Her mind was torn between the memories Xenon had stirred and the strange, unfamiliar desires the very Xenon had stirred...
Neveah’s lips still tingled and she was pretty certain Xenon’s kiss had left a bruise, he was so insistent, so demanding, so...
"Don’t think about it!" Neveah exclaimed, shaking her head quickly.
Though she said it, her mind had a completely different opinion and her thoughts kept straying.
In Neveah’s distraction, she failed to watch ahead of her and bumped right into a figure that stood on the way.
"Would you require assistance heading back? You seem rather... distracted." A familiar voice commented just as Neveah was about to snap at whoever it was.
Neveah’s eyes widened as she immediately recognized the voice and her gaze darted up.
Sure enough, Neveah stared right at the familiar mismatched orbs of the dragon king and a chill ran down her spine.
Neveah quickly stepped back, her eyes wide and alarmed.
"What... what are you doing here?!" Neveah stuttered out.
King Jian stood, his arms crossed behind his back as he stared quietly at Neveah for a moment, his brow perfectly arched.
"I should ask you that." King Jian replied.
’Did he see something?!’ Neveah thought in panic.
’I doubt that, but we cannot say for sure. He hates us and hates us hanging around Xenon even more, he would never be so calm if he saw.’ Neveah’s wolf thought back to her.
Neveah took her wolf’s reassurance, forcing herself to calm. It was difficult to do given all that had just happened but Neveah was most accustomed to putting on an act.
Neveah cleared her throat, adjusting her features to be perfectly calm.
"It is no concern of yours." Neveah replied coldly.
Since the cliff, Neveah did not think she had any reasons to be polite with the dragon king. She would only indulge Menarx because she did not want him worried.
King Jian stared at Neveah for a moment longer before he nodded.
"Fair enough." King Jian agreed.
"If that is all, then I shall take my leave... Your Grace." Neveah said, bowing slightly.
King Jian stepped aside and gestured for Neveah to continue on her way.
Neveah’s gaze narrowed in suspicion, King Jian was usually always cold and harsh yet he did not insist and was letting her go?
Neveah shook her head slightly as she walked past King Jian, heading to Xenon’s cave but King Jian’s words stopped her.
"You appear rather flustered, your hair is a mess, you are in a nightdress... and your lip...is bruised." King Jian pointed out obvious facts before he continued on his way, not waiting to hear what Neveah would say next.
Neveah stood in place, eyes wide like a child whose had been caught wrist deep in a cookie jar.
Neveah’s hand first shot up to her bare shoulders, a groan of frustration escaping her when she realized she had left her cloak back there.
Neveah then lifted a hand to her lip and sure enough, a mild pain told her King Jian’s words were true.
Xenon had truly left a bruise on Neveah’s lips and a whole lot more evidence of what had just happened.
Anyone with sense would be able to tell and if left to guess, Neveah was horrified to think their guess would go a whole lot farther.
Neveah turned to stare after King Jian, she was certain the dragon king had come to his own conclusion, and that was if he had not seen it all for himself.
The thought of it left Neveah feeling greatly uneasy. Since arriving the keep, Dragon King Jian had been out to get her.
Neveah could not help but wonder, what would the dragon king do with this knowledge?
