Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 354: Who Is the Man in White?
The dragon slowly approached her, its body growing larger and larger. May Morgan looked up at it, gazing at its head bigger than a car, yet she didn’t feel afraid at all. She reached out wanting to touch its face, but as soon as her fingers touched it, the dragon dissolved into countless red fireflies, instantly scattering away.
Illusory? So, everything here is illusory?
Just as May was astonished, those red fireflies suddenly began to converge in the sky, eventually forming the face of Vincent Vance.
May was startled at the sight of Vincent and was about to rush over, yet someone fiercely yanked her right hand, pulling her forcefully back to where she was.
This yank forcibly pulled May’s excited heart back. She glanced at her right hand, knowing it was the old man reminding her not to move recklessly, lest it might be dangerous. She steadied her mind and returned to her original spot.
When she raised her head again, Vincent’s face had vanished. The fireflies dispersed again, converging, then transforming into a different man’s face.
She’s never seen this man, at least doesn’t remember him. When he looked at her, his brows and eyes were gentle like water, with an almost flawless handsome face, more exquisite than a woman’s. He wore white robes, like a deity.
Who is this man? Why does she feel a sense of déjà vu?
May frowned, puzzled as to why such a man’s face appeared before her. Just as she was full of confusion, the man’s face in the sky gradually blurred. When the fireflies regrouped, they formed her own face.
Even more eerie this time, the woman’s face in the sky was indeed hers, yet the attire wasn’t what she currently wore, it was more like a style from many years ago, even the hairstyle differed.
Moreover, the woman up there seemed somewhat more mature than May.
What is happening? This woman... why does she have a face identical to mine?
As May was stunned, the sky suddenly revealed a severely damaged face, startling her.
The woman in the sky had a gaunt body, her face was ruined beyond recognition. She wore a black cloak, her fingers were withered like wood, and on her deeply furrowed face were scars deep as bones, making viewers sigh involuntarily.
Black cloak? Ugly face? Withered fingers, gaunt physique? Could this woman be that old lady?
May was shocked once more, about to speak when a bizarre scene appeared in the sky. She saw a young woman covered in blood, kneeling in front of a man in white, pleading desperately for his forgiveness.
However, the man in white merely glanced at her indifferently. As he bent over to pick up a woman who had died tragically early on the ground, he simultaneously thrust a dagger into the disfigured woman’s heart. She fell to the ground in agony, watching hopelessly as the man in white departed, and before she died, she used her blood for a blood sacrifice, cursing them to never be together in all their lives, and cursing the woman in the white man’s embrace to forever suffer the binds of the love poison.
Though she didn’t see the woman in the white man’s embrace, May felt that he must be holding her, no, it should be her former self.
Who is this man? Why does she suddenly have a strong desire in her heart to see him, particularly want to?
As May was stunned, her right hand was suddenly pulled fiercely, causing her body to sway, her vision to black out, and she knew nothing anymore.
When she woke up again, she was lying on a big bed arranged by Jacob Jennings.
And beside her lay the jade pendant.
May turned to glance at the jade pendant, noticing it had regained its previous white luster, the terrifying colors on it had completely vanished.
The pendant returned to its original color? Does that mean Vincent is awake?
She suddenly sat up from the bed, grabbed the jade pendant, and went downstairs to find Jacob Jennings. In the living room, Jacob was having a low conversation with Mr. Landry. Seeing May coming down, the two simultaneously fell silent and looked up at her.
May noticed the subtle expressions on their faces but didn’t give it much thought. What she cared most about right now was Vincent, as long as he could wake up, everything else was inconsequential.
She raised the pendant in her hand and asked Jacob Jennings, ’Jacob, why did this pendant turn white? Did Vincent wake up?’
Jacob turned his head to glance at Mr. Landry but remained silent. Mr. Landry, seeing this, stroked his beard and nodded slowly to May, ’As you wished, Young Master Vance should be awake at this moment!’
On hearing Vincent had awakened, May excitedly said to Jacob Jennings, "Then quickly take me to the hospital. I want to be the first person he sees when he wakes up."
Jacob looked at May, hesitating a bit, ’Miss Morgan, Victor Grant is deploying people across the city to search for you, they’ll soon find their way here.’
May cast a puzzled look at him, not understanding why he suddenly changed her title when he usually called her "Young Madam."
"Who cares about him, just take me to the hospital. I want to see if Vincent is indeed awake." May grabbed Jacob Jennings’s arm, indicating for him to drive.
Jacob lowered his gaze at the hand grasping his arm, hesitated in his seat without moving, ’Could you hear me out?’
May frowned slightly, and looked at him in confusion, ’What do you want to say?’
Seeing this, Mr. Landry spoke to May thoughtfully, "Let me say it. To be honest, I saw everything you experienced in the dream earlier. There are things I can’t say, but I want to tell you, if you truly care about Young Master Vance, the best way is to never meet him again."
"Why? Why can’t I see Vincent? Why?"
Upon hearing the old man’s words, May suddenly became agitated. Why was he saying this? Was it because she had harmed him like that in the past?
The old man looked at May’s face profoundly and said helplessly, ’Because of your past and present lives, because your destiny doesn’t lie with Young Master Vance, because Young Master Vance is at most just a passerby in your life, not your only one. Being together will only burden him with your fate, so the best way is to separate.’
Mr. Landry’s words left May a bit bewildered, yet amidst the bewilderment, she seemed to understand something.
Vincent is but a passerby in her life? Not the only one? Then, who is her true destiny? Victor Grant or that man?
"I don’t understand what you mean, if Vincent isn’t my life’s destiny, then who is? Victor Grant?" May clenched her fingers, defiantly questioning.
