Chapter 246: Chapter 246: Is This Your Child?

"What will you use to get back at me? My brother finds you disgusting now? Who else can you rely on? Hmm?" Maxwell laughed disdainfully and, as he turned to leave, casually dumped all the pastries Miller had placed on the table into the trash can.

"Without my orders, none of you are allowed to bring this woman food, not even water, understood?" Maxwell deliberately commanded the servants in front of May before shutting the door and leaving.

Once Maxwell left, the servants were also uninterested in lingering, each one left, and in the large bedroom, only May remained alone. Thinking of Maxwell’s revenge just now, May coldly smirked as she sat up from the bed.

If her body wasn’t completely drained of energy, how could she tolerate being subjected to such humiliation in such a filthy place?

Vincent, Maxwell, the humiliation you siblings brought me today, I will pay back double in the future.

By evening, May’s stomach was unbearably painful with hunger; since last night, she hadn’t eaten anything. But she was weak, trying to get out of bed to find something to eat. Yet, as soon as she braced herself against the bed, a wave of dizziness overtook her, nearly fainting.

A miscarriage, caught a cold, and not eating for a day and night— even an iron body could not withstand it.

Just as May was dizzy with hunger, lacking the strength to get out of bed, the bedroom door suddenly opened again.

She thought a servant was coming to bring her dinner, but the person entering was someone she least wanted to see.

It was the woman who had rolled over the sheets with Vincent in her bed last night, Brianna White.

Brianna White held a small box in her hand, the lid closed, concealing its contents.

"Who let you in? Get out!" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Seeing Brianna White disgusted May even more than seeing Maxwell. Maxwell was vicious to her, but he hadn’t gone to the despicable extent of stealing her man, whereas Brianna White was just disgustingly repugnant.

"I heard you haven’t eaten anything for a day and a night, so I’m here to bring you some things. I’ll leave after delivering them!" Brianna White sneered with a strange smile, stepping forward to May’s bedside.

She shook the small box in her hand, deliberately asking May, "Curious about what’s inside?"

May glanced up at the small box in her hand, remaining silent.

What could it be? At most, a gift Vincent gave her; anyway, now, whatever Vincent gives someone or whoever he sleeps with is of no consequence to her.

Perhaps she cared once when she loved, but now, all she feels for him is hate.

"Get out of my room," May said coldly.

"Ha ha ha, you’d let me out just by telling me to? You think you’re still the grand lady? Let me tell you, now in Zenith Villa, your status isn’t even as good as mine, an outsider."

Brianna White covered her mouth and chuckled, continuing to mock May with ridicule, "Vincent hasn’t kicked you out yet only because you’re still sick. If he threw you out like this, it’d be bad for his reputation. Just wait, once you recover slightly, he’ll have you thrown out."

May didn’t want to see this woman reveling in her own triumph before her, nor did she want to bother with her, so she simply closed her eyes, pretending not to hear.

Brianna White, failing once, tried another tactic, intentionally opening the small box in her hand, taking out its contents, and placing them on May’s bedside.

"Look, Vincent asked me to bring this to you," Brianna White stared at May’s face, deliberately speaking.

May paused slightly, quickly opened her eyes, only to see Brianna White placing a sealed small glass bottle before her.

This glass bottle was filled with liquid, and inside, a tiny figure, about two inches long, was soaking in the water.

That fetus was curled up, judging by its size no more than two or three months old.

For some reason, upon seeing the tiny fetus inside, May’s heart immediately shattered.

Even though she knew it might just be Brianna White’s ploy, the child she lost couldn’t possibly survive in this world, let alone be soaked in a medicinal solution. Yet, she couldn’t control her grief.

Because the appearance of this little fetus was exactly like the poor, helpless child she dreamt of on the night she lost her baby.

"Recognize this child? Heartbroken? It’s the one you miscarried," Brianna White laughed with triumph, deliberately bending down to lock her mocking gaze into May’s eyes.

"Impossible, my child was already removed, how could it be here?" May took a deep breath, trying to say calmly.

"Stop deceiving yourself, isn’t this child yours? Don’t you feel it? They say mother and child share a bond, isn’t it painful seeing the child?"

May couldn’t help but look again at the child soaking in the water, her fingers trembled slightly, just about to reach out, but Brianna White quickly lifted the small bottle.

"What are you doing?" May scrambled up from the bed, trying to retrieve the bottle.

"Since you don’t believe it, I’ll just destroy it. Anyway, this child is useless to keep!" Brianna White, in front of May, loosened her fingers slightly, and the small bottle instantly fell to the ground, shattered to pieces.

The small infant inside quickly dropped out, and before May could discern whether it was real or fake, Brianna White stomped on it, that tiny form quickly flattened.

"Such a pity, not yet formed and it’s over." Brianna White laughed coldly with satisfaction, "But I will continue to give Vincent sons, after all, for a man, there’s never a shortage of women to bear children. Don’t you think?"

"Bastard!" Regardless of whether the child Brianna brought was real or fake, the way she abused the infant in the name of May’s child was something May could never forgive.

May struggled to crawl off the bed, suddenly pouncing onto Brianna White, but Brianna White had anticipated it; she dodged back lightly, easily evading May’s attack.

May’s body hadn’t recovered, her strength couldn’t keep up, and this failed pounce quickly sent her crashing to the ground, unable to rise.

Hearing the commotion inside, Maxwell quickly opened the door to check, just in time to see May’s desolate figure on the floor.

Not only did Maxwell show no sympathy, but he also joined Brianna White to add insult to injury: "Brianna, did this woman harm you at all?"

"No, she’s too weak now, how could she harm me?" Brianna laughed triumphantly, speaking to Maxwell.

Maxwell glanced down at May, not only refraining from helping her up but instead stomping on her hand.
