Chapter 247: Chapter 247: Victor, Take Me Away

Beneath May Morgan’s palm lay a pile of shattered glass shards, and as she stepped down, many splinters pierced directly into her palm.

Due to her frail condition, the self-healing ability she once had rapidly faded.

Watching the blood seep from May’s palm, Maxwell Vance finally pulled his foot away in exaggerated shock.

"Oh dear, why didn’t you watch where you were going? Blocking my way like that, honestly!" Maxwell scoffed dismissively, biting back.

The servant nearby couldn’t bear the sight any longer, hurriedly fetched the first aid kit intending to help May bandage her hand, only to have Maxwell slap the kit aside: "Fawning over this woman so intently, do you not want to work here anymore?"

The servant looked at May’s injured hand and spoke tearfully: "The young lady’s hand is like this, what if the young master sees it?"

"So what if he sees it? Does your young master even spare her a glance anymore?" Brianna White retorted irritably upon hearing this.

Maxwell smirked triumphantly, turned and dragged Brianna outside: "Alright, stop being angry. My brother’s long tired of this woman. Maybe in a few days, you’ll be my new sister-in-law."

Seeing this, Brianna quickly began flattering Maxwell: "Then I’ll have to rely on you to put in a good word for me in front of your brother."

"Of course, as long as that woman is not my sister-in-law, anyone else is fine. But, speaking of which, if you have my brother’s child soon, maybe you won’t need me to say anything, and my brother will take responsibility for you himself."

The two left laughing, leaving behind a bewildered servant and May, still collapsed and unable to get up.

May’s right hand was seriously injured, and she tried to struggle to stand, but any exertion with her right hand caused unbearable pain, with shards of glass still embedded in her palm. Any force would cause the sharp shards to dig in deeper, causing excruciating pain.

When Maxwell and Brianna had thoroughly left, the servant dared to gather the scattered medical supplies and went to help May up.

"Madam, let me look at your hand first." The servant held May’s hand, inspected it, and saw many shards of glass, knowing he couldn’t handle it himself. He conferred with May: "Madam, you have a lot of glass pieces in your hand. We need a nurse to help clean it out. Let me call the young master to ask if we can arrange a car to take you to the hospital."

May looked up at her with a decisive, cold smile on her lips.

"Let me borrow your phone, I’ll call him myself."

May reached out to the servant’s phone, and after a moment’s hesitation, the servant handed her his phone.

Based on memory, May used her left hand to dial a set of numbers.

"Who’s this?" A cheeky voice immediately answered on the other end of the phone.

Upon hearing Victor Grant’s voice, tears suddenly welled up in May’s eyes: "Victor Grant, it’s me!"

She had no other option but to call Victor Grant. Had Vincent given her any semblance of affection left, had he made her feel even the slightest tinge of nostalgia, she wouldn’t have wanted to ask another man for help. She truly didn’t want to.

"May... May Morgan?" Victor Grant, hearing the woman’s voice with a hint of sobbing, asked uncertainly.

May wiped away her sorrowful tears and nodded: "It’s me, can you come and take me away? I’m begging you."

Her words caught Victor Grant off guard, asking to be taken away? What did she mean? Was she asking him to take her away from Vincent?

"What’s wrong? I hear you’re crying. Did that bastard Vincent bully you?" Victor Grant, with his impulsive nature, couldn’t stand hearing May cry and became anxious.

May didn’t want to hide anything and told him all her grievances: "Vincent and I are done. His sister poisoned me, causing a miscarriage. We’re at a stalemate. Last night, he brought another woman over. All I want now is to divorce him. Can you take me away?"

"What a fucking bastard. Hold on, I’m coming over right now."

Hearing this, Victor Grant became agitated and, without another word, hung up the phone, drove to Zenith Villa.

Upon arrival, he deliberately brought a group of subordinates to help take May away, resembling more of an operation than a rescue.

A big group came clamoring over, looking aggressive. The security guards dared not open the gate arbitrarily, and even before Victor Grant’s cars approached, they swiftly locked the main gate from inside.

"Miss, Victor Grant suddenly burst in, shouting outside that he wants to take the young madam away."

The guards and bodyguards, overwhelmed by the situation, had no choice but to rush in to report to Maxwell.

Maxwell, knowing who Victor Grant was, also recognized that in Silverwood City, there was none who didn’t know this troublemaker. Regular folks, who would dare provoke him? Unless they were tired of living.

Seeing Victor Grant lead so many people blocking Zenith Villa’s gate, Maxwell was scared out of his wits and quickly phoned Vincent, who was in a meeting at the company, explaining the situation in detail.

Of course, to successfully tarnish May’s reputation, Maxwell naturally conveyed Victor Grant’s intention to take May away clearly to Vincent.

Hearing that Victor Grant had indeed come, Vincent’s mind became a tumult of emotions.

In truth, this plan was originally to make May willingly run to Victor Grant. Victor had the resources and was neutral. Once May was there, he could confront the old master once and for all.

But thinking of his beloved woman finally ending up in someone else’s arms made him deeply saddened, fearing that from then on, he and May could never have a future together.

After all, by breaking her heart, he prompted her decisive departure.

Jacob Jennings, observing by the side, understood Vincent’s dilemma and softly advised him: "Young Master, there’s no turning back now, you’ve no room to regret."

"I know..." Vincent sighed deeply, turned, took his coat, and left with Jacob.

When Vincent and Jacob arrived at Zenith Villa, Victor Grant was nearly about to have his subordinates tear down the villa gates, making such a ruckus that it frightened Maxwell inside into ongoing screams.

Seeing Vincent’s car approaching, Victor Grant waved a hand, signaling his subordinates to cease action.

Vincent parked his car, got out, and confronted Victor Grant, coldly questioning: "Victor Grant, bringing so many people to cause trouble at my Zenith Villa, what’s the meaning of this? Believe it or not, I can call the police to arrest you right now."

Victor Grant, looking at the scum of all scums before him, wished he could land a punch on his face to flatten it.
