After Breaking Up, I Married the General-Chapter 188 - 187: Staying at the frozen land
They quickly arrived at the frozen land and they immediately began looking for the energy that Storm had detected.
Most of the energy that they could use as fuel for the spaceships and for their mechas was often found underground.
So, as soon as Storm pinpointed the place where they had detected the energy source before, they quickly focused on the ground.
Sure enough, the energy that they were looking for isn’t in a gaseous state at all because when they aligned the detector in the air, there wasn’t any reaction.
But when they ran it on the ground, they immediately detected some of the energy source that they were looking for 25 meters underground.
It’s already considered to be very shallow; no wonder it was still detected by Storm even though Storm was already flying high and fast.
Layton controlled Storm and they began digging to check the energy source that they had found.
With the size of Storm, they managed to quickly dig the ground even though it was covered with thick ice.
In fact, the 15 meters that they had dug first were all snow and ice, and only the 10 meters below were actually the land.
After digging for 3 minutes, they finally found the energy source that they were looking for.
When he saw what they had dug, Ryzel couldn’t help but be surprised.
The energy source that they had actually dug seemed to be really beautiful. The energy source seemed to be crystallized rocks with different, beautiful colors.
It seemed to be purple and some parts of it were bluish in color. With how clear and shiny they were, they really looked very beautiful. If they’re processed, they’ll surely look good as jewelry.
"They look really good," Ryzel commented.
"Indeed, most of the energy sources are black or murky in color when they’re not yet processed, unlike the energy source they have here," Layton said and then added, "I’ll go and check the energy level of those crystals. Stay here first. I’ll set up our tent after I finish checking it out."
"Okay."
Ryzel knew that he couldn’t help with such tasks, so he obediently stayed inside Storm and just watched what Layton was doing on the screen.
He saw Layton bringing out things that he would be going to use in measuring the energy of those crystals that they had dug.
He also saw Layton bringing out another detector and starting to go around the area to see how far they needed to dig.
Layton certainly had to check all the areas that they had to dig if he wanted to set up a tent, as they couldn’t just set it up in a place that they would eventually have to dig.
Ryzel watched Layton going around; he even went farther, following the detector he was holding, and finally came back in front of Storm again after 30 minutes.
Afterwards, he went a bit farther from Storm’s position and began clearing and flattening an area which was certainly where they were going to put their tent.
Layton only spent five minutes clearing and flattening an area that was enough for their large tent.
He had even arranged all the ice and snow that he removed to an area which could block their tent so that they wouldn’t be seen immediately.
Afterwards, Layton brought out the tent that they had used before and set it up properly. Layton had even changed the color of their tent, which was originally colored green, into white so that it could perfectly match the color of their surroundings.
After Layton finished setting up the tent, he also set up the protective cover, and afterwards, he finally called him out.
Ryzel properly wore all his protective clothing and then went down with the help of Storm, who carried him down with his hand.
With the protective cover he was wearing, he didn’t feel cold at all even though the temperature in the land that they were in was already very low.
He didn’t even feel any snow under his feet as Layton had already cleaned all of it. After entering the tent, he finally removed his protective clothes and turned off his own protective cover.
"We can finally stay in a bigger place again," Ryzel said with a smile.
After they had left the mountain range that they had been staying at for a long time, they hadn’t set up their tent again.
Most of the time they had been staying inside Storm as they had to observe the people on the planet.
They were only going out of Storm when they needed to clean themselves up or something, as they would set up temporary bathrooms as well as a small tent for changing.
As for sleeping, they were just sleeping inside of Storm. In fact, he was the only one who really needed some sleep because Layton doesn’t need to rest for a long time at all.
Even though they could control the seats, it’s still not as wide as a bed. The space inside is also not that big, so he couldn’t move around much unlike in a tent.
Staying in such a place for a while is okay, but staying for a long time still made him a bit uncomfortable.
So he was still happy to stay in their tent as it’s still wider and he could move around and do research as he wanted.
"I’m sorry, I should have set up the tent earlier," Layton said as soon as he heard his comment.
"No need to say sorry, we couldn’t set up a tent in those places anyway."
Even though he had felt a bit uncomfortable staying inside the cockpit for a long time, he didn’t voice it out before because they were doing something important and he knew that if he really voiced it out before, Layton would probably set up their tent for him to rest, which would just lengthen their need to observe the people that they had been observing before.
