Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 124: Don’t Tell Anyone
Victor Grant glanced at May Morgan in Vincent Vance’s arms and said coolly, "Did you think I stepped in for you? I’m doing it for this little girl."
At this point, Vincent was too lazy to argue with him and, while holding May, walked towards the emergency room, intentionally trying to get rid of him: "You must have something to do, right? Why don’t you head out first? I’ll have my men come over later, so you won’t be bothered."
Victor was a person with a bad temper, but he was quite loyal to those he cared about. And since he wasn’t busy, he naturally didn’t plan to leave.
"Don’t worry about me, just get this little girl in for treatment first. I’ll leave once everything is settled."
Seeing that he really couldn’t get rid of Victor, Vincent sighed inwardly and first carried May to the emergency room.
After the doctor took the unconscious May to the emergency room, Vincent began to call Jacob Jennings to tell him about the situation and urged him to come over quickly.
After making the call, just as Vincent was about to think of ways to get rid of Victor, the emergency room doctor suddenly pushed the door open and came out: "Young Master Vance, your wife’s injuries..."
The doctor looked at Vincent with a troubled expression and signaled him to come in, and Vincent, knowing what was going on, glanced at Victor and said to him: "You should go back, everything’s fine here now." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Even if Victor was a fool, he could tell from Vincent’s repeated attempts to get rid of him that something was wrong. Vincent was a protective husband, but not to the point of being stingy, right? Is there something being hidden from him?
Thinking here, he pretended to be indifferent and waved at Vincent, indicating he was leaving: "Alright then, I’m heading out. If you need anything later, just call me, and I’ll come back to help."
He said this and truly turned to leave. Vincent, in a hurry to save May, didn’t have the mind to watch him really leave, and hearing him say this, turned and went into the emergency room with the doctor.
The two of them didn’t even go inside, just talked at the door, when the doctor very awkwardly asked Vincent: "Young Master Vance, did you make a mistake? I couldn’t see any wounds on your wife’s body. She might have just passed out from shock, right?"
Earlier, when Vincent was helping bind May’s wounds, because he didn’t see any wounds, he was deeply worried. He was hoping that after bringing her to the hospital, a doctor would see some injury on May, even if it was a small cut, it would set his mind at ease.
But now, the doctor’s answer was the same as what he saw, which meant...
May’s body truly underwent some inexplicable changes.
And his biggest fear was just this. If everything was normal with May, that would be fine. But if she ended up like this, does that mean she’s really afflicted by the Dragon Insect?
"Did you all check thoroughly?" Vincent asked again, somewhat unwilling to accept it.
It was precisely because they did a full-body examination that the doctor found it strange and felt something was wrong.
"Of course, we’ve checked everything. If you don’t believe us, Young Master Vance, why not come in and take a look with us? We really didn’t find any wounds on your wife."
The doctor didn’t dare to be vague with Vincent, considering his status, because if anything happened to May, it would be their responsibility later.
The doctor motioned for Vincent to follow him inside to see, but Vincent, troubled, waved him off and softly ordered: "No need. Please move her to a ward, and check later if she needs a blood transfusion. If she does, please do it quickly."
"We’ve already checked. Your wife has a normal blood volume, and she’s just fainted from shock without any other major issues."
"Alright then, please transfer her to a regular ward... never mind, I’ll take her home later."
Vincent suddenly thought that if May really was inflicted with a curse, she was already a medicine guide for Grandpa, and under no circumstances could he let Grandpa know about this. Otherwise, with Grandpa’s madness, he might subject May to further brutal harm.
So the best way was to take May back to Zenith Villa without delay.
The doctor felt that Vincent’s arrangement might be inappropriate and kindly reminded him: "Young Master Vance, your wife may not have external injuries, but she still fainted from excessive shock. If you take her back like this, and something happens afterward, we won’t be able to explain it."
"You don’t need to be responsible. I’ll handle this," Vincent said, turning away and coming out of the emergency room, where he saw Victor standing at the door.
"I couldn’t leave in peace, so I stayed to see," Victor awkwardly explained to Vincent as he got caught staying.
A sinister glint flashed in Vincent’s eyes as he asked him unceremoniously: "Victor Grant, what are you trying to do?"
Victor had overheard bits of the conversation between Vincent and the doctor, so he was particularly curious about May’s situation: "I say, that little girl really has nothing wrong? Did the doctors make a mistake, or did you, Eldest Master Vance, really marry a monster?"
Victor’s careless words directly ignited the fuse in Vincent’s heart. He grabbed Victor by the clothes and pushed him against the nearby wall.
"Victor Grant, shut your filthy mouth!" Vincent threatened him through gritted teeth, "If you dare to say a word about May, I will make sure you die a horrible death!"
Victor looked down at Vincent’s hand clutching his clothes and couldn’t help but laugh coldly: "Vincent, what do you mean by this? Did I say anything? I just said your wife isn’t a human, so what? Did I hit a nerve?"
"Say one more word, and you’ll see if I don’t punch your lights out!" Vincent immediately threatened him, furrowing his brows before Victor could finish speaking.
Victor usually plays dirty and isn’t afraid of anyone, so Vincent’s threats didn’t faze him one bit!
"Come on, you wanna fight? My hands are itching!" Victor flung Vincent’s hand away and twisted his neck, getting ready to fight.
Just then, Jacob Jennings rushed over, quickly standing between the two who were confronting each other.
"Eldest Master, calm down; this is a hospital!" Jacob hurriedly tried to persuade the furious Vincent.
Vincent was just worried about too many people knowing May’s secret, as it could bring her unnecessary disaster. But damned be that Victor, who came eavesdropping at such a bad time, which really set him off.
"Victor Grant, I’m warning you, don’t utter a single word about May’s situation, or I’ll make you regret it!" Vincent gritted his teeth, warning Victor.
Victor sneered, retorting without hesitation: "Come on, am I afraid of you? If you have the guts, let’s duel. Vincent, are you man enough? I save your asses, and you turn against me just like that!"
